Hello captured community!

Its time to bring out the season's best in scary, gory festive delight. This year is closing on year 20 for us (or maybe more?  )

The area we live here in MTL has lots of houses decorated beautifully lit up and along the mountain roads behind us.

As the season kicks in we'll do our best to *capture* more of the local sights.

Be kind to your local Ghoullies, remember to forget the raisin boxes (pls!) and go full fantastic with the chocolate bars  

Thank you to all of our you! Our many, many kindest of members who have become family to us over the last almost-quarter century (gasp we're getting old)

I have already un-captured, I mean freed myself of the seasonal theme. I'm glad that was possible. I guess I just don't like change

And while we're at it:
I have already accepted the power-cow , as a female moose is a "cow" even though I had to find out later that this would be one very special "cow" as a female moose usually doesn't come with antlers!?
Now, don't you dare try to sell me the eight-legged "Arachno-cow" ,
or the "Yak-O-Lantern" next.
Though I have to admit there are some funny things you can find googling "arachnid cow" and "Yak-O-Lantern"

Ayup... Halloween's Flix's season... though maybe more than fifteen or sixteen years ago we used to have Halloween Avatar Contests! Halloween was a big thing in those  days...and I promise to show more seasonal showman ship as soon as I feel better enough to climb up those hilly streets behind us and capture some of mtl's greatest, scariest decorations  

Ahhh, the YakoLantern  SLD... now for that , theres certainly got to be a creepshow for it somewhere!
And...hey... you sir yah you SLD... I declare the... Un AVatar'ed!  heresy that you changed the theme (dang, i forgot to make it unchangeable this year  but at least you can give us something scary sir...

2024's pumpkin carving project is done.

This time it is the Witcher school of the wolf medallion on the front...

  

 

And the five Witcher's signs around the sides and back.

 

Initially I left them all standard jack-o-lantern orange, but that night I got the idea to make them all colored like the originals.

First attempts were with neon paint and a black light...

 

But that didn't light up the wolf head very well. So next attempt was with white lights and colored tissue paper attached behind each sign.

   

Sadly by this point two full days had passed since carving and the structure of the pumpkin was starting to lose integrity, so I had to end the experiment. Still, I think it turned out better than I could have hoped.

Flix, I SAW your avatar change earlier today and I was hoping you'd have your annual pumpkin carving project on hand to show... What a delight.  I love these new geometries from the Witcher, and thats a clever way you got different colors with the tissue paper.

This is the best part of this topic yearly, and actually  I'm the one behind because we haven't gotten to the local haunting of houses decorations but promise to have something up tomorrow!

What say we keep this skin going for the weekend? I was out of action last month because of *gasp* stomach  ... but im able on me feet again, and the outdoors has once again become accessible safely... There are still beautiful homes behind us that need documenting, we will have them at last!

I had to dress up for work, even if I'm "work from home" ... this year I was out of sorts for timing for this most magnificent of events... but with Schot we'd gotten monster onesies for the whole family... ooooh, just in time for a quick posie in the kitchen!
