Before X-Mas is this two and a half birthday. My wife was highly pregnant at my birthday. Twins scheduled for 25th, We did a party with friends and family. At 10pm she said oh oh. Driving (racing) to hospital and the boy came minutes before and the girl minutes behind. I had them registered for the same day with an option for a change.Being 12 my daughter wanted the day after. So we call it a two and a half birthday now.

Normally, there's a whole ritual we do, but Grandma's death put a slight damper on the holidays for most of the family. There's a time for hugs and comforting words, then there's a time to just give people a little space for reflection and whatnot. My family's mostly in the reflection mode.

Lol, I'm very familiar with the little Christmas tree in the drawer; I think we have one of those in one of the utility drawers.

Since our kids grew up in a small village there was not much chance to earch some money with babysitting, gras mewing. They sell x-mas trees :(

Merry Christmas everyone! We visited a Christmas market in France; the stalls were only really food but they had decorations up everywhere in the tow. It was beautiful. They even had some random kids ride which was a tree that spun slowly like a carosel and the kids climbed into giant baubles to ride it!

You were surprised, eh? This is what happens during this season... ornaments, lights, prezzes, show up everywhere, unexpected and always cherished... and on top of that ...the smiles

Happy Christmas Pev!...I want my own giant bauble to ride !

The kids are out of their funk a bit, so we all went and bought a tree and decorated it last night. So, Christmas is back on in our house.

Wooooo... Christmas has broken through... so rise the tree!

Ours as mentioned is only a few inches high...but it always points the right way ..up up and up to the stars and beyond

:) Christmas has indeed broken through. Part of it's sheer Christmas spirit, but part of it's new baby fish. My male Platy took it upon himself to impregnate every single female Platy in the tank. It's real hard to stay bummed when you have brand new babies darting all over, knocking over decorations. Platy babies are some of the types of fries whose bodies have to grow into their eyes; it was very hard for the kids not to look into those big eyes and not crack a smile. Even my 17 year old daughter, who is suddenly too cool for the whole planet. Lol, I don't miss being a teen at all :)

Bravo with the babies... Christmas has always been about the kids... even if, in this case, if started off with some cold-blooded finned ones

... I can see your kids smiling at that tank...what a gift and what timing

:) They are indeed, between the babies and the discovery of a few pink shrimp in the tank, the living room is a very happening place right now.
