Sorry I didn't see this. I posted trailers and missed this thread. Sorry gogo.
But as far as the game goes we should at least keep a open mind and give this a chance at least.

Funny thing about trying to be Guild Wars. Isn't Guild Wars 2 open world-ish? There certainly does seem to be a lot of similarities with GW1 however.I dont have a problem is its trying to be Guild Wars 1, I loved that game, Im all for that then if that is the case.
I dont know, we going have to wait to see the videos that we all need to see.

I still think it means its like Borderlands where the map is not one big world like sacred 2 but the same size just broken down into sections.divided into small segmentsIf this is the case I have OK with that.
It could be like that, but that's not really what I got from the previews.
It defaults to 3 henchmen in co-op, presumably with other players replacing them when you go online.also no henchman in coop.I thought the henchmen was only for those who dont get connected online, I dont think its the same with people who are connect.
I could be wrong as wrong as what they are doing to this series.

We were told by the game's rep that they found a large part of the game was spent traveling from quest to quest and they wanted to remove that downtime. While Sacred 3 will still have towns for re-equipping an gaining quests, you'll never actually venture out from them it seems. Instead you'll just drop into a mission. This is a pretty radical departure for the series, one we can't help but feel will upset the fanbase quite a bit.
While it's still pretty early in development I couldn't help but get a "downloadable game" vibe from what we saw. It was almost like Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light in a lot of ways.

If this game is anything like DS3, I will pass bigtime!
Why in the name of all things would you go out and change the format of the game that made it awesome?
This one killed it for me
The game was demoed on a PS3, and while we couldn't get our own hands on the controls, it was obvious that combat was a lot more arcade like. -

JUST PLEASE don't do what DS3 did, Share the same screen in Coop, also no henchman in coop.

The reasons for this decision are mainly the difficulty of programming for the Cell processor, and the (nowadays) lackluster hardware. This way, by having the hardest plattform to develop for as lead, a better quality can be assured for other plattforms.
This is not even true, they said the same about Dark Souls and they have some bad framerate on the xbox 360 version, I also think the ps3 version what drop the quality on the xbox 360.
Also where are the videos for this game?
-
Long as its not like DS3, also not sharing the same screen.
Open World, maybe they mean like they will be loading times, but if the worlds are big like Borderlands, where the maps are big different areas then I am fine with that, long as players and split and also have big maps like borderlands, then I am all for it.
Still it will be nice to have a hub to meet other players to pick to coop instead of having to log out of the game just to send an invite.
I dont know if this is new or not but....

Sacred 3 is a game that is under "embargo" until the end of the month so I can't really talk about it, I can only say that it is in the same way as the old ones, it's an hack'n'slash and in my opinion will compete with Diablo3, stay tuned!
wait a minute, you go to one of the biggest game show on the planet to annouce that there going to show something or tell a month later?
Am I the only one see this odd?

any news yet on what is going on with this?

Ok guys, I have been getting ready for the next Sacred game to come out, I have no idea how they game or characters will look like but I am pretty sure that they Seraphim should a look the same because they are angles.
So I did this one only penciled, soon im going to ink it then finish it with colors!

here are some art work they dropped over at Facebook
-
ok what about the art style in DUNGEON SIEGE III, I just played that lastnight and I must say that looks very good, the colors on that is sweet.

From what I understand the announcement of Sacred 3 was quite some time ago. I checked the original announcement by Deep Silver about owning the franchise, which was three years ago. We're just getting news from Deep Silver about the game. I would not put it past the development team that things have been in secret for quite some time(likely before the multiplayer server shut down a few months ago).
In the software field, new operating systems or programs go thru revisions every few years. Even giving Deep Silver a one year period from announcement in 2009 to 2010 still gives them three years to have been working on the game from release.
What I'm about to say is pure speculation, but it's just possible that the new game is so multiplatform that PC players will be able to see and join console players or maybe be able to join another game worldwide(regardless of region).
Yeah I dont think that is going to happen, only 2 games on xbox was allow to do that, Final Fantasy XI and Shadowrun. Microsoft have a very strict policy about opening up other ports to come in and crash down their network.

That picture does look cool, but its hard to tell how the game will actually look like. For me personally, I hope they stay away from the cartoonish style, it suits the side scroller well, but for an ARPG it won't work.
Yes it can, they can pull it off, any artiest can do it if they are careful how they are doing it.

If you want when we get more picutres and info I can draw something as a slash page or something for you
-
good to see you again Llama8, missed you over at the TXB sacred 2 forums before they took it down.

I want a really good art style, I am tired of the realism to these games that comes out ugly. The art work in Citadel is such warm welcome. I hope Sacred 3 is something like Citadel art style or its own cool style.
as soon I start seeing more about Sacred Citdel and Sacred 3 im going to buy a new sketch book and get busy, I have been iching to draw again.

Hey there guys, just some little pics I took from the teaser trailer of Sacred Citadel that will hopefully get us excited about this next game! I know I am ready to rock with these new characters, how about you guys?
Safiri the Warrior
Khukuri Shaman
Ancarian Ranger
Mounts
Deep Silver just announced Sacred Citadel, a standalone single-player and co-op title set in the world of Sacred. The developers have described this one as the prologue to Sacred 3. Expect, the third installment in the Sacred series sometime next year.
"The events in Sacred Citadel will act as a prologue to the next chapter of the Sacred story and will unveil an intriguing secret about the Seraphim that will directly relate to the action RPG Sacred 3, currently in development by keen games and to be released in 2013."
The official word is as follows:
Three warriors unite against an evil that threatens to enslave the once peaceful world of Ancaria. Lord Zane’s Ashen Empire has created an army of Grimmocs, modified Orc henchmen at war with the Seraphim. Only when these heroes unite and use their skills to support each other they will stand a chance!
Deep Silver today announced the side-scrolling action brawler Sacred Citadel, a new standalone title that is set in the rich universe of Sacred. Sacred Citadel will reinvent the familiar arcade feel of classic brawlers while setting a new standard for the future of side scrolling hack and slash games.
There are several playable character classes, such as the Safiri Warrior, the Ancarian Ranger and the Khukuri Shaman, each with a different skill set that can be further individualized through RPG features and collectible items. Each character will also have the ability to dual-wield two exchangeable weapons, use combo attacks and perform double jumps. All of which combines into a fluid and unique arcade game experience with sophisticated graphics and spectacular effects. The player will also be able to ride mounts, use war machines and spend his hard earned cash in towns all over the world of Sacred Citadel.
Sacred Citadel will also offer an engrossing multiplayer mode: as up to three players can join forces against their enemies in seamless drop-in/drop-out coop mode. The events in Sacred Citadel will act as a prologue to the next chapter of the Sacred story and will unveil an intriguing secret about the Seraphim that will directly relate to the action RPG Sacred 3, currently in development by keen games and to be released in 2013.
Sacred Citadel will be out in 2013 as a digital download title for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system through PLAYSTATION Network, through Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and through Steam and other ESD partners.

Really surprised it's ETA is 2013 especially after hearing nothing about the game til now. Not that I mind lol
That is kinda close, they must of been working on this for a while and didnt want to say anything just yet.
Wow 2013 is to close, maybe its better that why so they dont have to run and always having interviews about this titles and just stay working on the title.
This might be a smart move on their half, so when we see what they will show us it must be in Alpha or close to beta.
(my guess)
