Flix 5,184 Popular Post Share Posted December 5, 2015 New Release: Diablo 2 Fallen v15c - March 9, 2023 Hotfix Patch for "Opponent's Armor -X%" modifier not spawning on weapons. Supported Languages: English French Mirror #1: Sacred 2 Nexus Mod Development Thread Please read the following! This mod requires the latest version of the Community Patch (1.60) to be installed beforehand. Do not have any other mods installed if you're going to play D2F. None. This is a huge mod and compatibility is very limited. Custom versions of many popular mods are already integrated. The Music Pack is a separate download available HERE. The music pack is required, otherwise you will experience some regions with no music at all. Leave "commentary" to NEVER in the options menu. If you don't turn commentary off you will hear a weird mix of vanilla and D2F character voices. Leave "Number of Speakers" to STEREO in the options menu. If you try to use 5.1 audio then the music and many sound effects will not play. The fonts needed for the interface are located in the "pak/fonts" directory of the mod. They are three .ttf files. Right-click each one and select "Install" to install them on your system. Detailed Install Instructions (New Users): Download the Generic Mod Enabler (GME) and install it to your Sacred 2 root folder. Mod Enabler is available at http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Miscellaneous/Generic-Mod-Enabler.shtml Root folder for Steam is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sacred 2 Gold Root folder for GOG or disk version may be as simple as C:\Sacred 2 Gold After running the GME once, it will make a folder called "MODS" there. Extract the contents of the D2F .zip file into the "MODS" folder. There should be four folders: "Diablo 2 Fallen v15", "D2F Inferno Patch", "D2F SuperSpawn, and "D2F Docs." The Docs folder is just for information and is not necessary to play. Extract the D2F music pack contents ("music" folder) into the "pak" folder of the mod. So the structure will look like: [Diablo 2 Fallen v15/pak/music]. Run the GME and enable Diablo 2 Fallen v15. It may take a long time to install. The GME will back up your clean files and will allow to you to easily enable/disable the mod as you wish. -Optional- "Inferno Edition" and/or "SuperSpawn" should be enabled after enabling the main mod. Overwrite warnings are to be expected. Disable before disabling the main mod. The fonts needed for the interface are located in the "pak/fonts" directory of the mod. They are three .ttf files. Right-click each one and select "Install" to install them on your system. Play with NEW characters only. Previous Users: Disable the old version of D2F with the GME (important!) Remove the old D2F folder from your "MODS" folder. Place the new "Diablo 2 Fallen v15" folder into the "MODS" folder. Enable as usual. -Optional- "Inferno Edition" and/or "SuperSpawn" should be enabled after enabling the main mod. Disable before disabling the main mod. Use old characters at your own risk. Legacy characters may have re-rolled bonuses on random items or odd/broken behavior for in-progress quests. Thanks to: Pesmontis for all his ideas and insight, and helping me import countless new monster and item designs. dimitrius154 for invaluable advice, contributing new models and textures, and coding. Silver Fox for scripting advice, and his work on textures, making new items, god statues, and the Druid's quest. Vampire and desm for making the French version. Wardust for hundreds of ideas on changing textures of the landscape, enemies, and the characters. steinerrr for ideas on how to increase the power and challenge of monsters. Caledor for ideas on adjusting balance, skill effects and the inventory interface. Ysendra for some Daemon textures. Jordan0422 and Tharkun who did testing and provided lots of valuable feedback. Charon117 who made tools for cleaning & optimizing scripts. Lindor for some script-sorting tools and Lua advice. The CM Patch team and all the modders who came before me, made modding tools, and showed me the way. Everyone who played the mod, posted feedback, and gave support. This mod is very much a product of the entire Sacred 2 community at DarkMatters. Thank you! 12 Link to comment
Flix 5,184 Author Popular Post Share Posted February 25, 2016 As of today all new versions of the mod will be posted in this topic so people don't have to hunt through the long development thread to find the downloads. This thread is probably best reserved just for posts regarding installation. Thanks to Gogo and Schot for setting up a brand new forum for Diablo 2 Fallen. I'll be making new topics in this forum for all the characters, monsters, and other features, so they can be discussed separately and given some more room to shine. 3 Link to comment
Dragon Brother 619 Popular Post Share Posted February 26, 2016 Awesome, love that there's now a dedicated forum section for this! 4 Link to comment
gogoblender 3,225 Popular Post Share Posted February 26, 2016 It's excellent work you and your team have put into this game changing Mod Flix. That one topic from before with it's hundreds of responses just wasn't big enough to hold the massive knowledge that one place. Hopefully this new forum is big enough! gogo 3 Link to comment
Flix 5,184 Author Popular Post Share Posted November 2, 2016 Beta 7 is now released! The download link in the lead post above is updated. There are new instructions for disabling screen shake and battle music in options.txt.Big thanks to jordan0422 and Tharkun who did testing and provided lots of valuable feedback for Beta 7, and to Pesmontis who's responsible for all the new items and creatures.I broke my old rule of always releasing a new version every two months, so you're getting a whole year's worth of updates in Beta 7, as you can see in the huge changelog! The development threads have also been updated with the new info, as well as all of the resources: List of New Bosses & Superuniques Map of New Bosses & SuperuniquesVisual Guide to Unique WeaponsHave fun with the best version of Diablo 2 Fallen yet! 5 Link to comment
desm 330 Share Posted November 6, 2016 I have 2 things that worry me about the french version: *the fonts are not replaced with D2 ones (they are well installed, I've checked it). *the text still shows Sacred 2 text in french; I would have think it would have been new D2F speech in english at least, knowing that the french translation is not finished yet. Please, can you confirm? Thanks (you can move this post if it's not the right place to talk about that) Link to comment
Flix 5,184 Author Share Posted November 6, 2016 The French version isn't going to work at all right now. The French locale folder is completely absent in BETA 7, which explains both of your questions. I'm sorry but the French translation just wasn't ready in time. Maybe you can contact VAMPIRE and help him out in some way, to speed things along? 1 Link to comment
desm 330 Popular Post Share Posted November 6, 2016 Ok I'm reassured. I contacted him the other day, he still got 2-3 things to enhance and it will be ready. Thank you Flix. 2 Link to comment
VAMPIRE 86 Popular Post Share Posted November 7, 2016 I just got home. Employs time difficult for me. But the bulk of the translation is done. I'll keep you informed... 2 Link to comment
VAMPIRE 86 Popular Post Share Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) The translation of the new of the beta 7 is completed since some days. But there is a big job: there's a lot of French text of the vanilla version , witch are fare from perfect. I'm working on since the beta 1. ( and there is a lot of work ) . I made about 60% . Will be completed and perfect for the final version. Tomorow, I update the Combat arts ( aspect ) to finally give the french version to Flix. Thank you all for your patience. HUGE THANKS to VAMPIRE for creating this translation! I personally know the amount of work it requires is tremendous. Congratulations on this massive undertaking. As someone who works in a french province (Quebec here in Canada) I undestand the difficulties, time involved, frustrations involved with a translation of this scale. Vampire, I'm just so touched that someone actually translated this mod into one of the most notoirioulsy difficult languages in the world to write and master. Thank you for your work, your time, your love for this game...this is another one of those great beaming moments with Sacred's community that makes my heart swell. gogo 3 Link to comment

Flix 5,184 Author Popular Post Share Posted November 27, 2016 Patch #1 for Diablo 2 Fallen Beta 7 is now released! You can find a link in the first post above under the main mod download. There is also a link to the change log and install instructions. Instructions: Before installing the main mod, extract the contents of the patch archive into the "Diablo 2 Fallen Beta 7" folder. Then follow installation instructions as usual. If you already have BETA 7 installed, disable it, extract the patch into the mod folder, and then re-enable the mod. You will get folder and file overwrite prompts if you install it correctly. Overwrite all files and folders when prompted. This patch primarily focuses on improving combat animations and fx, especially on the Special Mounts. Some bugs are also fixed and numerous typos in the tooltips are corrected. 2 Link to comment
Flix 5,184 Author Popular Post Share Posted January 12, 2017 There's a new mirror link up in the lead post to download Diablo 2 Fallen from Kirmizi Perfect, a fansite dedicated to hosting mods from various ARPG's like Sacred 2, Titan Quest, Diablo 2, Torchlight, and more. There's no version difference but you might find the download a little faster than from Google Drive. D2F (and other mods I've worked on) are hosted there with permission. If you get D2F from any other source than DarkMatters or Kirmizi Perfect, it is an unauthorized and unreliable source. I have admin access to the Sacred 2 section of the site so I will try to keep things tidy and updated there as well as on here. It was a sobering event when titanquest.net went under and all the mods, tools, guides, and resources nearly vanished with along with it. Big thanks to grinninglich for picking up the slack and keeping these myriad projects alive. It's nice to have eggs in more than one basket. 3 Link to comment

gogoblender 3,225 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Flix, I think Schot has access to a massive storage account from Microsoft...for a while anyway, would it help if he could carry the file as well? gogo 1 Link to comment
Flix 5,184 Author Share Posted January 12, 2017 Flix, I think Schot has access to a massive storage account from Microsoft...for a while anyway, would it help if he could carry the file as well? gogo Oh yeah! I remember him mentioning that. The idea was that we could have entries added to our DarkMatters downloads section, but the file itself would be hosted on and retrieved from the Microsoft Drive? How do you want to set that up? I can prepare the file for upload later today. 1 Link to comment

DarkMatters is " trusted" so if the link is at least "here" on this site, I'm thinking doesn't really matter where the file is being held since our site is vetting it. This is a good project then Ill chat him up this afternoon and have him do a run to see how fast the speed is, how long he has that space for. gogo 2 Link to comment

Schot 414 Popular Post Share Posted January 17, 2017 Tada! Oh rats, wait... https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmXw7Xsgdss6gmHZUfLlMdgTYrcR Ta... Daaaaa! I put it up a couple days ago which I downloaded from that other site. I hope it's the right one. Great work Flix. Clearly you are insane, (to have done all that), lol. P.s. I gave you power to link to an external file source in the Downloads section Flix. Let me know if you get stuck! It's a bit finicky. 2 Link to comment

Could you by any chance make the "Support Topic" button link to this topic? I deleted the auto-generated thread since this topic already has it covered. So, Diablo 2 Fallen has a file page in DarkMatters Downloads now: http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/628-diablo-2-fallen/ Version 7b is the new version, but all it means is that Patch #1 and the French Patch are integrated. No need to re-download if you already have Beta 7 and those patches. I updated the download link in the lead post in this thread to go straight to the new download page. I took my Google Drive links down but left Kirmizi Perfect as a mirror. Link to comment
Schot 414 Share Posted January 18, 2017 Great! I'll see about the support topic. Might be a bit tricky but as a temporary means maybe I could restore the deleted auto-generated support topic, delete it's contents and put a link in it to redirect visitors to your topic here. In the past I know I've edited the database for this sort of situation though it's always an unnerving endeavor, haha. I could also move posts here to the auto support topic after restoring it but of course there's the issue of time stamps... I fiddle around and see what happens. Link to comment
