By the way I have named a Temple Guardian after you, though at the time, I did not know that there was someone actually with the name Sirius (Sirius: Legend Of The Temple Guardian (Story Idea Concept). I hope that you do not mind having a Temple Guardian named after you.

    Haha, don't worry about that.
I've yet to play baldur's gate 2, and the other games you referred to.
    I'll look into those.

  2. Yeah I know, I've mentioned I've played shadow warrior mostly, and I have.
But I decided to take a short break and try inquisitor out a bit, and damn do I love his Area of Effect spells vs a mass of weak targets.
    However, I'm a bit confused.
How do I focus on astute supremacy and still deal with strong single targets, mostly bosses somewhat effectively?
Also, which path should I go for defense?
At the moment I'm going combat reflexes to up my dodge, so I can have a chance when enemies hack away at me.
That is ofcourse after I put my points in intelligence and astute supremacy lore as my main weapon.
Which leaves dexterity completely un-leveled, which in turn makes my defense ability suffer.

You may answer: "just use a guide, duh".
To that I'd have to say that I mainly enjoy figuring things out as I go along for myself, but I'd still love a few pointers before I mess up my character beyond repair.

  3. Wow I don't remember any of how DS2's multiplayer worked. I played it with my brother once via LAN and had a good time, that's all I can recall of that.
Some memories come back when playing sacred 2 right now though. I remember playing it on PS3 a bit over 10 years ago, and it didn't have the expansion/dlc on there.
First thing that tipped me off was that the white griffin is now tied to a quest that needs activation to spawn him in.
Back then, he just came out of nowhere and made me have a little accident.

Have you played a game where they offered you this for playing beta ?

    gogo

A couple that comes to mind right now, yes.
World of tanks and battlefield heroes (closed 10 years ago)
Most single player games won't really have this, but lately a lot of games insist on being online, where this might appear more and more.
All I'm saying is: Keep a look out of exclusive stuff.

wooooooooooooooow!!! I just love where you guys live! I dont know if I could ever used to seeing that in the sky full time!

You might be mistaking the top picture for northern lights.
I've only seen them once in my lifetime. They are far more common farther north in the country, not down here in the west/southwest.

These were just some windswept clouds appearing behind the mountains after sunset. Still a great spectacle that I just had to take a picture of.

  6. See title.
Happened a couple of times now.

The game runs just fine for several hours, zero stuttering or drops in fps.
All of a sudden, BAM - 5 fps. Not gradual, just a sudden loss of performance.
First thing I thought was my GPU was throttling massively from overheating, but it runs whisper-quiet here compared to other games where it sounds like a jet turbine with fans spinning to keep cool.

So what gives? Have there been similar reports before?
I did a quick search to see if other people had the same issue, but it was always slightly different.
Someone reported memory loss, another one talked about instant fps-drop when entering the game, etc.

Despite my limited technical knowledge of computers, I've still used them for 20+ years with all kinds of different problems needing to be fixed.

In case of a memory loss, I've always experienced them happening gradually, the game worsening over a period of time.

  7. Old returning member after a decade of absence.
Started playing sacred 2 again after I honestly forgot it existed for nearly 10 years.
After some fidgeting with settings and files, I got it working, and now I'm getting my ass kicked by the white griffin as a dual-wielding shadow warrior.
Game still looks great, in my opinion.

Hope to see you guys around!

  8. Let me necro this thread a bit:

If you have trouble with the steam version of sacred 2 gold, it's most likely due to nvidia physX being too recent for the game to read.
Uninstall physx, search for and delete all the physx-related files on your pc, and install the one that comes with the game.
    That worked wonders for me.

On top of that, I'm using the "-skipopenal -nocpubinding" launch options.

No compability mode on, but I have chosen "disable fullscreen optimizations" and "run as administrator" on the sacred2.exe file in system.

Same for the s2gs.exe file, if that matters.

I'm not entirely sure if I can play other, newer games without having to reinstall a more recent physx version, but for as long as I'm playing sacred 2, I'm sticking to the old one.

  9. I'd love to play Diablo 3, but I think it would have to be on my PS3.

My craptop can't handle newer games.

And thanks for the reply, Gogo.

I just had to take the time to write about Eve. It's too much fun to go unadvertised.

I only wish I had started playing it in 2003, so I would have a real badass character now.

Also, I forgot to mention that the whole market in Eve is player controlled.

Everything you see in the market is put there by another player.

Corporations mine, refine, manufacture and put items for sale to gain money and control.

There is also a uncharted cluster of star systems at the northeastern corner of the star-map.

This is said to be the home of the mysterious, technically superior and insidious Jovian race.

They are NPC only, except to a selected few. This suggests that some players have been invited to the Jovian empire.

Perhaps one day, they will break out of isolation and start a war against the rest of the known universe.

Feuding corporations and alliances would have to combine their forces to fight the invaders.

    Wouldn't that be awesome?
