  1. Here are the locations of the save game folders on the PC, just copy your backed up files into there:

    Vista/Windows 7:

    C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2

What was wrong with C:\Users\<username>\Documents]\Games\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2? Every other game I install seems to have no problem with putting their save games there? But there's always someone who wants to reinvent the wheel I suppose. I guess I should curse microsoft for not setting their guidelines a little clearer.

  2. Ok, sadly I have some pretty bad experiences to relate on this thread. I downloaded from DLGamer, and had a problem right off the bat when the install.exe file didn't download with the batch. An email to DLgamer got that straightened out fast. The install went smoothly enough but when I attempted to register on the eu hardcore server, it errored out. Now my serial number is flagged in use, the name and pw I used to register the first time wont work, the page to change your password isn't being maintained by anyone and all dlgamer and the eu people do is pass me back and forth between them like a tennis ball. Grrrr. I tried mailing the registered domain contact email for the domain where the password maintenance page is and it is dead. The message I've seen the most is Database is down try later.

My charge card company tells me I have a legitimate claim to a refund but again the DLgamer folks say it's the eu ppl's fault and they can do nothing so I guess I'm gonna use the charge card company to charge back my purchase to get my money back. While I can appreciate the work the dlgamer guys put into the install change (it's 100X better than the stock ascaron release, this server bs needs to get fixed fast or it isn't gonna be pretty. That's my feedback sorry it couldn't have been better. The buddy I had buy the game so we could play online now wont talk to me either as he had the same bs experience. So be warned their database is appearantly on life support and no one will fix any problems you have.

IMO once it became appearant the the eu ppl wouldn't help dlgamer should have offered to supply a new activation code. That would be the professional way of dealing with user problems like this. It shouldn't be that hard to get the old code invalidated at Secure Rom, it's only good for 3 activations anyway. So if you're thinking of trying to join the gang on the eu servers hope like hell you dont get a hiccup when you try to register or you will be fraked. Make sure you document every email you exchange with the company and have screenshots of error messages. And go with Visa I know they will charge back on this kind of bs. Which not only takes your money out of the merchant's pocket, it makes the merchant in danger of losing access to credit cards if they get enough complaints. For an online merchant this is suicide.

  3. At least from my reading that file mainly deals with the hacks needed to convince the uk Ice and Blood onto the us Sacred 2. In DLGamer's case they seem to have made the process trouble free, other than a seemingly undocumented need for patch 1.40uk international. I will check later tonight and refresh my memory of the process. I will also be taking advantage of the email address you supplied. I hope it isn't a big hassle for them to have to provide support for a version they don't even have the rights to sell and profit from.

  4. Both my friend and I seem to be totally screwed by this but it's hard to tell with him because his tolerance for frustration is much lower than mine. I made an initial account. I may have screwed up and used the sacred 2 key rather than the ice and blood. The game appearantly rewrote my name into something more acceptable to it. I wrote down everything but when I try to log in with the name the game gave me and the pass word I chose I get told the account does not exist. Attempting to create a new one gives me an error about the login server being down. And worst of all there's no bloody official support or I haven't found any. I know some of you guys are connected so if you could at least get someone to set me up so I can log in I'd appreciate it. It's either that or try hamachi and I'm having equally bad luck with that. My friend at this point would have pitched his disks out the window if he had any so until I get my problems solved he's unlikely to be interested. Thanks a ton in advance for any help you can offer.

To answer your initial questions, we both downloaded the version from dlgamer so I assume they matched. I had to yell at my friend about the light/dark thing but eventually that got organized as did hard core though the colored rings so obvious to us long time players aren't to a genuine newbie. Can't even get in the lobby though I think I may have the first day though no one was there so it is doubtful I was in the lobby.

  5. Well dispite having no problems finding both keys I'm real tempted to grab a refund as well. I've had no end of problems this weekend starting with the fellow I bought 2 copies with being unable to see my games to join, to being unable to log in dispite having written down the information gave me at the time. It's pissing me off. Finally convinced a rl friend to play Sacred 2 with me and the damn thing wont work. Not to mention the appearant complete lack of support.

  6. Ok after a while of playing a non upgradeable Sacred 2 I convinced a friend he was missing out so we both went out and bought Sacred 2 gold from DL Gamer. Now the fun started. After trying without luck to get hamachi to work, we tried logging into the official EU servers cause that's where I hear you guys all hang out. However. After logging in and using my serial number then logging out the server insists no such account exists. When I supplied a username , eg john, it gave me XX2AAjohn. I assume that is the one I should be using. Has support completely vanished for Sacred 2? Is Hamachi our only hope now?

  7. If fist weapons are two-handed and you will give them sword type, then you will have 1 and not 2 attacks. If you make them a shield the code handles it as weaponless combat. (see spidergirl Kungfu Dryads, or the shadow warrior with a shield and no weapon)

But before we discuss any further they first have to be unlocked

Perhaps they do unarmed animations already if they have no weapon type.

How can a fist weapon be 2handed? Unless you mean 1 weapon slot is the equivalent of 2 weapons, like the gladiator glove weapons in Sacred 1 that looked like a pair of mittens. I wonder if dual wield would work as the weapon lore for them? Chattius have you tested dual wield on any of your kung fu builds to see if it does anything?

  8. I think that exchange 2h hafted and 1h hafted weapons to the strenght of the enemy is not a good idea, 'cause u won't mastery both at the same time, the better thing to do is focus on 1 type of weapon.

keep "Malevolent Champion Focus" & "Death Warrior Focus" at you're char level.

until level 75 keep "Tactis lore" to 20 only.

Shadow Warrior is a char that I never played, I'm taking a base on my seraphim build.

I'm not sure about this advice. Tactics lore on the Shadow Warrior gives you mod points in both Death Warrior and Malevolent champion arts so it can be quite an efficient use of points. As well, ih and 2h hafted are the same skill so indeed mastery will be achievable at the same time. Maybe you meant sheild and hafted? While you would have trouble mastering them at the same time, you would still hopefully unlock shield mods for block % with the skill.

  9. hello everybody!

    What Where are blue quest?

I would like to know the Inquisition!

    thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Your playing an Inqusitor? you will find the start of the Blue class quest in Sloeford. it is only available in Campaign mode on Console and off-line SP on PC.

Also, be aware that "blue" quests for the Inquistor actually have dark red ? over npcs heads.

They can be harder to spot when it's dark.

  10. Ah, I see it depends on what campaign you started, this should be the place you get your reward from the quest: http://www.maplib.net/map.php?id=4184&...089844&z=12, near the Aarne Jungerberg NPC.

And this is the cave you need to get the amulet from: http://www.maplib.net/map.php?id=5563&...578125&z=12, the one that is close to the river.

That got it thanks. No legendary, but a nice unique anyway. Hunting Amulet. Dex 15 ranged 7 on platinum.

  11. I heard that the master of the hunt quest in the orc lands gave a legendary amulet reward so I tried it. But, after the 3rd quest in the chain it seems to dead end. The quest text says I should go see the master hunter in the orc capital of Grurag-orc but I have no clue which city is the capital. I tried Zu'Zuruik where you see the clan leader to get the Octagolamus quest but there is no master hunter there. I also tried Sloptok but no luck there either. Has anyone completed this quest?

  12. Great guide Dobri! I play on PS3, but I would've thought that a pure caster Inquisitor would work better in I & B, since it's now possible to take Ancient Magic. Guess not..

On a sidenote, the elongation mod may be more useful for Levin Array when using the CM + RT + LA combo, since Raving Thrust more often than not pushes some enemies out of range for LA (when modded with disperse).

Great guide. One thing that occurred to me is with the mod to share damage with your party the 2 free bear pets in the game just got a whole lot more useful. Though I guess on free play it'd be a bit of a pain to go grab them every time.

  13. The re-balancing made the game brand new for us that had played it a lot before ice and blood. We are re-inventing how we build and believe it or not, making better, more powerful toons along the way.

I'm not disagreeing with this but it just makes no sense that an item the boosts 3 skills gets penalized exactly the same as an item that boosts all your skills.

It just seems rushed and poorly thought out. Much like the original game where +all items had the same boost as a single +skill item. You'd think if they decided to rethink the balance they would have thought a little harder about it.

  14. All these changes are part of what really bugs me about the Sacred team. So rushed and poorly thought out. From the original, where all skills items made any other skill items pretty worthless by being the same value we are now at where general/defensive/offensive skills have been nerfed exactly as much as all skills were, making them pretty well useless too. Why couldn't they have spent 5 minutes and put in a variable scale for the values, where if armor lore was a 15, all skills a 9, then defensive skills would be about 11 or 12. Makes way more sense.

I love Sacred 2, mostly for the detail of the world, but the detail in other places really leaves me with kind of annoyed.

  15. Yeah, but those npc's I mention are not part of something wonderfull. I guess the blind guardian fan is just somekind of direction point to the quest.

And the paperboy in Twainbrook is involved in an other quest.

Ya, if you had noticed prior to the patch, all the npcs that have grey circles now all had !s over their heads in the original game. It seems they introduced a bug where any npc with a ! gets a quest circle on the map. What's worse is, once you start the something wonderful quest, all those npcs lose their map markers so you're back to stumbling around trying to find them all again.

  16. Another bump of respect to a long-standing and well-loved member of the Sacred 2 Community. Nightwolfe's Wolfe's Lair was the site that showed everyone the value of a high quality fan site devoted to the game. The complexity, detail and passion devoted to it by her shine on every page.

    And she's wonderful to interview!

    gogo

Sadly it seems the site has been offline for the last few months. :yay:

At least when I try to go there I get redirected to a maintenance page.

  17. Damage converters slotted in weapons - only right-hand weapon is used... but initial test is inconclusive. It's hard to tell because with limited testing as I'm not inflicting the DoT's very often (of the poison/fire that I was testing with). The overview only ever shows the main-hand damage conversion...

I thought I'd read elsewhere on this site that the devs had said the effects do stack and that it was a graphics issue why only one displayed. I may have misunderstood though. One way to test would be to outfit one weapon with a very low level poison or fire dmg mod and the other with a high level of the opposite dot type. then the dmg numbers would give a clue whether both were working or not.

How few weapons or just swords?; try Polearms, half of them are dex based. Or most of the ranged weapons I expect.

Mostly swords as I haven't found any hafted weapons that seem to be dex based. A polearm isn't a lot of use to a dw seraphim is it? In general it seems the base damage is lower on the dex based swords as well for comparable levels.

  18. I'm probably waaaaay behind on dual wielding strategies but the thought just occurred to me now that when Dual Wielding it might be best to use weapons of differing attribute associations in order to get better damage. This way a Dual Wielder would benefit from the damage bonus of each attribute. Does anyone do this and is it really worth it?

According to the weapon damage reported from the stats panel, it seems dex is considerably less beneficial than str to boost your damage overall. If I equip a str weapon and a dex weapon on my dw chars the weapon damage is split so both are being boosted, but because dex also adds def the dmg boost from dex is a lot less. I noticed my seraphim was getting a larger boost to her dex as she leveled than her str so I tried a dex dw seraphim using short swords and daggers mainly but her damage was considerably less than my dw Shadow Warrior. At the same level with approximately 400 str vs 400 dex on the seraphim the Shadow Warrior would hit for around 3k while the seraphim would hit for closer to 2k.

So, overall, I don't see what it would gain you to use 2 different weapons. According to the tooltips, using 2 strength based weapons doubles the weapon dmg bonus from str, and as I say, dex is less of a dmg bonus so it wouldn't work out.

I was also disappointed with how few weapons were dex based as well. The rule of thumb was 3 slot weapons were supposedly dex and 4 were str but there are so many exceptions (excalibran and blood dryad's to name a couple) that dex weapons really limits a character, imo.

  19. Has anyone tried this quest in Ice and Blood? Does the blue arrow show where next person is in quest?

Just curious if the fact they are circled immediately now actually helps with quest or was just a great way to break the normal quest tracking system. Sure, its nice to see them on map but now whenever I finish a quest, game is more likely to put focus on a staff circle rather than an active quest marker. Or is that just me?

I like how these forums spell out expansion name if I just use initials :yay:

I tested this today and unfortunately it's completely bugged. As soon as you accept the quest, all the markers disappear from your map. Selecting the quest in your log will point you at one marker, but if you go and talk to that npc then the quest gets marked with a green star in your log as if it's completed. So, it's back to finding the npc's the old fashioned way.

The first time I tried this quest it bugged out on me as well. I was using a copy of the map from Wolfe's lair where I marked off each npc as I contacted them. Weirdly, part way through, in the swamp, one of the employees I talked to gave me Benny's Promise and later despite my map/checklist saying I'd gotten all the employees, Heiko never acknowledged it or opened the door to the lunchroom so I could claim my other prizes. When I got Ice and Blood I checked the quest on my old character who ran it and it now had the quest marked completed but even going back to the office I still couldn't access the lunchroom. Sigh.

Anyway, I hope these posts continue and the OP is ok. Nothing since Feb is a bit disturbing. Hope you are still in good health.
