  1. Dragon Brother summed it up best. You need a shopper for blowpipes. To beat the carnach I'd suggest the following

Find a LL% Shuriken. At gold you should find 1.5, maybe 1.7%. Use ravaged impact with double hit mod. Try and get extra HP and fire resistance amulets. Use goldenglade touch and make sure you have red relics. If you can't find LL% Shurikens try get a weapon with ice damage and socket an ice crystal.

  2. I've only played 2 dwarf builds - Myles gun build and the 2H vehemance build ( both around level 55-60). The gun build is pretty weak in comparison, and trading isn't helpful until a bit later (GOLD difficulty IMO). If you do go ranged the guns/rifles you find usually have fire damage. Having a combo of wrath x3 or 4 is pretty helpful for mobs (rifles/guns do more damage the closer the opp. is) and pumping dwarven steel is a must. Use yellow potions to get you through mob heavy areas.

Try get plus combat arts from gear and put your points in weapon Lore and concentration. I'd recommend a 50/50 split between dexterity and Phys. regen.

    Hope that helps.

EDIT - The original question - go with Axe Lore - much, much easier to get good weapons.

  3. Alot of the strongest damage builds require uniques (Aarnums fiery blade, ettol rahc bow which reduces physical resistance) which are hard to get single player.

Daemon would be up there as most damaging - played Therions death from above build. Kills mobs quickly.

Gladiator with ettols, multi hit and dagger stare is really strong as is Wood elf with ettols, multi shot and ancestors. Battle mage using fire spiral combos kills bosses fast.

Haven't really played the dwarf or seraphim much to comment.

  4. I was looking for upcoming rpg games this year

There's some that look promising. Only played a little of torchlight and TQ, but there's a few mods out there that you might have missed. This thread leaves me wanting an update on UnBended ;(
Also, played Loki ... had potential with good combat arts and monsters but the save system was awful.

  5. Giving this build a run and yes choir DOES NOT work on the war bear quest (am playing 2.28 or lower, maybe 2.29 fixes this?). Also shining lights quest and the 2nd merchant quest at porto vallum - choir does not affect the bears or minotaur, it just fizzles. It will work on wolves.

Gonna add my thoughts to the build info. LL% needs to be high, 9% or higher. Daemon doesn't get armour lore till level 20 IIRC and its hard to get spell damage and regen without neglecting armour and constitution. Try and get combos going early and stock up on yellow potions. For runes, I'd recommend getting as many battle daemon ones as possible even prioritise them over choir, discs and call of death. I'd find myself using normal attacks with choir or discs and the extra damage in battle daemon form helps alot.
Currently at level 28 in silver, died 3 times and gotta say it's a test. I can see how it would play well on high levels with pumped up call of death and battle daemon form but it seems a long way away.

  6. The wiki doesn't have much on casting speed.

For Magic coup casting speed isn't an issue as long as you put points in the lore and use +skills. Use damage x-x rings like chattius said and use as many grand invigoration runes as you can. Magic coup is one of the strongest combat arts IMO. Casting speed is way less of an issue than regen. It's nice to have but with a few exceptions (e.g. CM and Levin array for an Inquisitor) it's not a priority.

  7. http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Attack_Speed

At the bottom of the page - Innate Weapon Attack Animation Speeds.

In terms of weapon just go for the ones listed in most guides (*cough* Officers sabres). Having a slighly quicker weapon isn't much use if it has less sockets and base damage.

AFAIK attack speed cap is 150% max 170 with frenetic fervour. Check the wiki for more info.

Apologies for no replies, I thought Chattius or a mod would answer. Been playing original Sacred :)

  8. When you start it can take a few levels to get a decent offence going, some builds take more than others, so it's natural if you feel a bit lost.

You can get good attack value from boots and gloves, weapons and from battle stance buff (esp. later with a buff suit). Try and get rings with % chance opp. can't evade. Also combat arts like pelting strikes have a base attack value that will increase each level.
  9. The best advice I would give to a new player is to not eat multiple runes, learn how to lower regen through focus skills and items, pick constitution before level 25 and put points into vitality and learn how to use relics for different regions and bosses.

Don't stress too much, your first character is just for learning.

  10. It's good that you only ate one rune, I thought you ate more. With the regen time/ aspect -% on gear I should add that it's easier for other classes. The dryad has a few set items with cap' hunter -% and can get jewellery with -% regen through bargaining.

Of the things I listed Regen per hit is what you should go after to help your regen times - it makes the biggest difference FWIK. Stay with one rune and try and get higher CA levels through gear. If you get to higher levels you could eat a couple more I geuss.

With excess runes you could change them to rousing command or killing spree or change them to other combat arts like acute mind, dashing alacrity, grand invigoration and keep them available when you want to play other classes.

  11. With frenzied rampage you wouldn't want anything over 4 sec.

Demonic blow and scything sweep I'd personally aim for 1.0 to 1.6 sec.

Now if you are around level 20 to 30 and have eaten a dozen or so runes your regen times will be high but you can fix it with the following

    - Put points into your focus skills and into concentration when you level up

    - Get some regen per hit rings (alot easier if you have a bargainer to put them into your shared chest)

    - Get some +skills gear

    - Find gear with regen time/aspect -%

which you can get on yellow and set items.

Alot of times you won't get your optimal regen times till you get enough points in focus skills or get to level 50 or so as some builds take time to shine. Alot of people will just eat one rune and get higher CA levels through gear which is easy to do once you know what items your'e after.

  12. Getting 100% chance to halve regen isn't that hard. I've got an inquisitor in platinum difficulty - level 106 - with 104% and using testas annihilator, so fewer sockets with no dual weild. Had >100 chance around level 95? iirc and doing fine.

Alot of set items have the % chance to halve regen modifier, you just need to look for them on platinum and niob difficulty.

Some combat art mods really benefit from %cthr if you still play Fallen Angel and don't have RPH - e.g Callous execution startle mod (stun), ravaged impact breach mod and flaring nova stun.

  13. I'm suprised this thread isn't pages and pages. For rings I'll usually try and get damage x-x with damage % or elemental damage, deathblow and chance opp. can't evade and some +skills. Lately I've been getting amulets with extra HP and plus vitality. Probably because I've been trying to master Armour lore, CD and focus skills before constitution and have started pumping stamina.

With regen I've found the -regen times (gold mods) on yellow gear combined with plus skills and stamina (playing Sacred 2 FA) helps alot.

Best finds would be a shopped ring, level 116 with 48.6% deathblow, got 4 artamarks, and a few double stacked plus skills ammies. Never found double stacked damage miti gear, geuss I need to go deeper into NIOB'. Gonna look out for double stacked chance to halve regen items as I'm running a few builds based on it.

  14. Since you have a bargainer look for gear with + CA or + Aspect for your character and make a buff suit.

There isn't really any place specific for runes, just go after champion monsters - they give better drops all round (e.g Orc cave)

  15. Blowguns have almost instant start up, bows have a bit more animation time. Bows have more base damage iirc.

Put more points in cap hunter focus and get some rph rings to help with your regen times. I think Put's build had maxed focus, CD mastery, one rune read and optimal gear before pumping sinister predator.

  16. Good to hear. It was the area where I finally got a full aarnums set for my daemon so sub conscientiously I may link it to good drops.

I always figured luck was the prevailing factor along with fightin bosses and champions for drops. No one ever came out with any formula or %bonus with SB helping you get set or unique items so it was more of a keep in mind thing.

    Have you checked out
