Will always remember your ebolts build flooring dragons at that last possible second...

Holding fast is easier said than done in HC!

    gogo

But thats what makes HC so much fun. You just dont know....I lost load of characters to unfortunate accidents. In underworld when Jummy and I was racing for max level first I died to a bat in a cave.....that hurt.

  2. Hello again,

I dont believe I ever did one of these all those years ago but I'll apologise now if I did and this is a repost.

I'm jonny, I used to play Sacred 1 and 2 with a lot of you on PC many years ago. I had the honour of running the Descendants of Ancaria guild for a number of years and spent time as moderator and then administrator on the SIF under the leadership of DaGirl (Carolyn Hacker). In my opinion they were the glory days of the SIF when Carolyn was community manager and I was lucky to be playing the game and supporting one of the best gaming communities I've ever known

Over the last few years I've bounced around games but often find myself reminiscing about S1 and Sacred 2 with a couple of friends I've stayed in regular touch with since then. Recently another conversation in a game we're playing called Last Epoch got me thinking about sacred again and a quick search around brought me back here - I even manged to find my old log in details.

Recently I took the old DA site offline and so now for my sacred reminiscing I've come here and happy to see a few familiar names that remind me of good times had.

Hi jonnyx :) did Llama8 spread the word over at Clan DA?
By the way, what happened to the site? Saw that it's completely down now, and seems to have been for a while.

Haven't checked in with Last Epoch for a few months now I think. Right now I'm just giving Sacred 2 campaign a go :P

Dobster got Llama and I playing ages ago, he's backed it on kickstarter and persuaded us to play, there isnt a Clan DA to spread the word around, it died out a while back all except for the website.

I took the site down, the software on it was old, dangerously out of date and unsecured and I didn't have the technical ability to do anything about it.  I still have the domain name which my wife and I use. I'll be doing something with the site but the old clan site is gone. It had its time and now its just another part of Sacred's history.

This means that each class has different sub levels? This is different from just levels... like at certain grouped levels you would get a kind of "bonus" ?

    This is intereseting

you start with a base class and then at around level 25ish you complete a main quest that lets you chose a mastery class. So take Acolyte as a base class, at the moment you can choose a mastery as Necromancer or Lich.

As you level and complete certain quests you get passive skill points to spend on your class trees. There is a base class tree which you need to spend 20 points in before you can then spend in the advanced class trees. Your mastery class decides which passive tree you fully unlock. For example Necro and Lich. If you chose Necro then you can only see half the passive tree in Lich and vice versa

Spending passive points unlocks skill abilities as well, so to get the Necro skill Assemble Abomination you have to have 40 points spent in the Necro passive tree.

each skill then has a skill tree of its own up and you can only get a max of 20 skill points to spend in each skill and you can only have a maximum of 5 skills were you can spend skill points (you can use other unlocked skills in their base state but its not a great idea in most cases)

Basically this means that there is a lot of choice and diversity in builds. Its impossible to unlock everything at once and the choice in how you build skills and spend passive points makes a massive difference to how your character plays out.

And then there is gear and crafting........

  5. sorry for the necro but its a safe way for me to post :)

its a very fun game to play, getting better every patch and certainly a lot more polished than it was last year.

I've got 300 hours in it now and still enjoying it, classes are all quite different and the abilities they have are unique. No multiplayer just yet but its on the cards at some point.

Build diversity is really good to, lots of options on how to play your character and the dev's are pretty good at communicating with the community too.

  6. It's great news Jonny. Finally! :)

I'm dying to get a sig going, I know many of you must as well. I tried out one of the D.a.r.k sigs there, but it didn't seem to work, or came out a bit wonky.

Tried it on GSF and it worked there perfectly though.

    Anyone know what's happening here?

    :)

    gogo

if its animated it wont work...animated sig pics are still not allowed due to size restrictions and the loading time impact on people that use dial up. Hey I did my best but at the moment static pics is all I could get clearance on. If people behave and don't take advantage I'll see about Gifs,

  7. WUHUUUUUUUUUUUU

I am soo ready , come on plz go fast last 6 hours.

Got a dual wield dryad, its do or die time.

I go US servers and pass time, see you there ( EU ).

talking of US servers, I'll probably stick on those for today and see if I can pick up anyone there that wants to join in.

So I'll start a US server at 5pm GMT too for anyone not on the EU ones and will post up some pics etc of the event (as long as its not just me)

  8. Just so our friends over at DARK are aware over at DA we are once again running our good and bad player lists. We are carefuly how this list operates but for people to get mentioned as a bad player takes effort.

    Here is the list:

    http://www.clan-da.com/showthread.php?t=7869

We're not allowed to post such things on the SIF (fair enough) but as Clan's we can keep the community aware of trouble makers!

  9. good to see you guys set up again :P

if you are interested there is a spot opening up in the guild alliance DA is in and we would be more than happy to vouch for you guys to get in.

If you want to join up then someone needs to go here:

http://z11.invisionfree.com/lastplatoonalliance and post a request to join the Alliance and a bit of information about the guild in the Alliance Introductions forum in the Alliance Hall section. The post must contain the poster's ign, so they can be contacted.

any question try contacting Infanta Vespertina in game and she'll be able to help

  10. I know some of you still play Guild Wars but its not an official game over here with DARK so I'd like to extended an invitation to those DARK members playing GW to join up with the Clan-DA in game guild.

Its been going since beta and has the whole guild hall fully stocked with just about everything needed, we're in an alliance with other guilds in game and so there's always a group of people on line to enjoy playing with.

We'd be honored to give you guys a home in game so if you're interested why not drop over to our guild wars section and look us up in game.

  11. Not often I have to post such things but to let all of our DARK friends know that we have banned Fizben from the DA site.

The reason for this action was abusive comments in game towards members of Clan-DA and the use of (DA) tags to impersonate a full clan member.

All DA members have been advised to ignore this player and be on guard for more abusive, derogatory in game comments to which the right thing to do is take screenshots and pass the information on to the DA staff.

If you see this player in game (the account name is also Fizben) please note that they are not a member of DA. All members of DA have links in their SIF signatures to our members list which can also be found here:

  12. banner was made by the excellent Darius - a real genius with the GFX all credit for the look of our site is his....you wouldnt want to see my attempt!

we're certainly ready for Sacred 2!....counting the months

We're one of the oldest Sacred Clans and still probably the most active on the International side of the game. Our members come from around the globe and we give them a happy home over at www.clan-da.com to chat about everything Sacred.

We firmly believe in the community spirit of the game and make sure all our members understand that playing nice with others in game is just as important as playing the game itself.

Its easy to spot us in game as all our members carry our clan tag (DA) as part of their character name.

If you ever need help just ask a DA'er - we're always pleased to!

  14. tis the season to drink lots (for those over 18) and be merry :4rofl:

and for many its time to crack open those weird and wonderful drinks that your auntie mable brought you back from some wierd shopping trip she went to, and try to find something to use it with!

so any good cocktail recipe's you got going on?

    here's our current favorite:

    Cham69

    2 shots Chambord Raspberry liquer

    2 shots Vodka

    1 1/4 shot of amaretto

    1 shot lime juice

    1/2 teaspoon of sugar

give it a damn good shake, poor into a glass and top up with lemonade.

    yum!

  15. I personally avoid what I consider "gimick" builds. I have played a monk at all levels of the game and competition...I have never played a 55 because it is a dedicated farming build..and I am the worst farmer...ever. 55 monks are designed specifically to fight things solo that do not remove enchantments..and also is the most "botted" (meaning people use a script and leave game unattended) build in existance.

a 55 monk when you are wanting a healer in the party is a very annoying thing. Espcially when you specifically ask people are they healing and they lie just to get in a group.

a 55 monk as a farming character is very good - especially in UW or hydra farming. Its a good way of getting items to sell, rare drops to keep.

speaking from experience they are very difficult to get good at, the skills needed are very specific and hard to get, the timing for castings must be excellent and also you need to pay attention to your timers to make sure you dont loose an enchantment right in the middle of a fight. Which isnt always easy to do!

I made one for the challenge, and yes because I was greedy and wanted to make money....it worked.
