  1. (Bolded part) Heard that before - *cough!*Flagship Studios*cough!*. A little tip for would be gaming developers - there is a heck of a difference between developing a game and running a business. . .and unlike business sims, there's no 'save games' for real businesses whenever they screw up.(At least before bailouts anyway.)

But at least Keen already have an existing business (hopefully with existing royalty payments to keep things ticking over) & this isn't their first game.

  2. Ok, I did a bit of tweaking (reduced the per level increase on Testa to 0 & increased the base damage): level 1 = 4,312, level 2 = 4,406 (due to Int increase). With DD level 1, damage = 4,842, with 2 points in DD, damage = 5,009.

Therefore DD functions as both the lore & focus.

  3. lumen god power: in addition to its normal working it works as a sort of minibuff. It has an extra effect lasting for 3 minutes: adding it's ca level to intelligence.

Do you think it is a good idea to make god powers a bit more useful this way?

Which mini-buffs you would like to see for lumen, testa? God powers which have lasting effects already can't have a mini-buff in addition. At least I do not know how to add.

What about each god adds to a different stat? 6 gods, 6 stats/attributes (and most of them are useful)...

  4. In addition to getting the specific sets Furian's suggested, equipping Fire relics will help as well, especially if you pick the Armour mod for Ancient Bark (it's incomparably better than the defence mod), as this will give you a % bonus to all armour types & if you can be bothered to make a buff suit (more hassle on the consoles than it is on the PC to be fair) you can cast AB at a much higher level & get more of a bonus to armour.

  5. Did you modify the Godspell to have a fixed damage (ie, doesn't increase with level)? Since the "runes read" level of the godspell is fixed to your character level, if you had a high level character & dumped a load of points into DD (with the vanila/unmodiffied version of Sacred 2/Ice and Blood) I would expect the damage to increase anyway as the CA level increases...

Did the CA level increase significantly when you put points in DD? If so, that's probably why the damage increased. Your initial Testa level (the one giving 2500 damage) was probably ~33.7 (meaning your character level was probably something like 130-140?), the one with 1 point in DD was probably level ~90.9 & the third one ~148?

Edit: Go into the Spells.txt, find "mgr.defineSpell( "gott_wissen_drohnen", {" (Testa) & then replace the following line:

    entry2 = {"et_spelldamage_magic", 1400, 700, 0, 133 },

    with:

    entry2 = {"et_spelldamage_magic", 1400, 0, 0, 133 },

That'll get rid of the damage increase per level

  6. They've probably not updated that page, it's on the "about us" page & I doubt that's likely to be frequently updated, whereas the jobs page would be. Though it would be nice to have an official statement from DS about it.

  7. I do remember Llama saying that Mastery doesn't grant anything because the Dev's didn't get to finishing it before release.

Mastery doesn't give anything extra, it should still give an increase to the "CA level" of your godspell.

DD definitely functions as the Focus skill for the godspell (and the "runes read" for the god spell is always character level). I guess the easiest way to check if DD acts as the Lore as well is to test with Lumen & change the damage to be a static number (doesn't increase with level), then if you put points into DD & the damage increases then DD functions as the Lore as well as Focus (without changing the damage in Spells.txt the damage would increase as you level up/put points in DD anyway).

  8. 1. I notice that link to Sacred 2 Gold on DLgamer here on the site that it is listed in pounds. If I were to charge this to my debit card does the transaction automatically convert the amount to dollars? I am sorry if this is a dumb question, but I have never bought anything in another currency like this....and such as it is I am ignorant in the matter.

"Foreign" currency purchases are automatically converted to your "local" currency by the card provider (your bank/etc) at their own rate, which will be based on the market's conversion rate plus some form of "admin fee" (that would either be in the form of either a "worse" rate or a flat fee, but it would probably be all rolled in to one figure that you see going through on your card).

"Common" currencies (eg, USD/GBP/EUR) would likely be subject to a lower exchange fee than unusual currencies as the bank would have higher volumes of transactions resulting in lower charges to them which they pass on to you.

  9. Probably the nicest things I've had in the post (other than new bits for my PC) would be the letters from my wife (then gf) when she was in Russia. We were both students in our third year (my final year) at uni but because she was doing a language course she had to spend a year in the country, needless to say it sucked massively & as Knuckles said, the letters (& random expensive phone call) were one of the few things keeping us sane. She didn't spend an entire year out there as she came home for a few weeks at Christmas (when I proposed), but it was a long ~3 months in the autumn & then another ~3 months till I went out there for two weeks & then another ~2-3 months till she came home for the summer holidays (and then went to spend a month in France for the other part of her degree). I can't remember how long the letters were (they're up in the loft somewhere, along with the ~9-10 A4 sheets double sided that we wrote to each other over the easter holidays in the first year while I "woo'd" her :)), but they were pretty long & sent every week or so (via Amex in Finland for some reason).

  10. I tried this against the Niobium Guardians (though I did have ~870% attack due to the number of Niob damage runes I'd socketted), I think I had something like 5-6k attack & ~113% chance to hit.

r00, I think the translations for the two anti-evade item mods are a bit dodgy, I think the one that you get on BFG (& Sinister Predator) is the one that the Germans have as "Sure Hit" (it appears on items as smaller values, eg, 6%, compared to the "other" mod appearing as ~20%), I think the other mod "Opponent's chance to evade -x%" reduces the target's evade (since it's a lot easier to get more of it & it seems to have more diminishing returns).

  11. Wiki says "The long form of the name is the longest officially recognised place name in the United Kingdom and one of the longest in the world, being 58 letters in length (51 letters in the Welsh alphabet, where "ch" and "ll" count as single letters). The name means: St Mary's Church (Llanfair) in a hollow (pwll) of white hazel (gwyngyll) near (goger) the swirling whirlpool (y chwyrndrobwll) of the church of St Tysilio (llantysilio) with a red cave ([a]g ogo goch). This village was originally known as Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll (and is sometimes still referred to as Llanfairpwllgwyngyll) and was given its long name in the 19th century in an attempt to develop the village as a commercial and tourist centre (see Significance of the name below).

So, they changed it from "St Mary's Church in a hollow of white hazel" (fair enough), to "St Mary's Church in a hollow of white hazel near the swirling whirlpool of the church of St Tysilio with a red cave where I got lost as a young boy & fell over & hurt my knee, it was really painful & no-one found me for hours & hours & hours. Barstewards!"

  12. I noticed this evening that not only does Revered Tech Lore boost the Enhancement mods, it also boosts the Accuracy mod.

With a level 200 blank seraphim, level 71 BFG & 0 RT Lore I got ~17% from the Accuracy mod. With ~104 RT Lore I got ~52.4% evade reduction...

    0 Rev Tech Lore:

    BFG0RTL.jpg

    104 Rev Tech Lore:

    BFG104RTL.jpg

And at CA level 108(.7) & Rev Tech Lore level 256 I got 107.4% chance that opponent's cannot evade. If this is the "Sure Hit" mod (in German, guarantee's you hit), that should make it impossible to miss...

  13. Thanks, but we haven't read what "the man" thinks yet :)

By the way I was up until 6am doing that thing so he better be smiling.

    Yes, I smiled. :)

Though you missed out the curry-based attack. ;)

I will say the nasty words near the end kinda made me flinch...but SChot agreed to a warning on this topic...JUST ONCE ^^

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch's a naught word? I guess it is in Welsh...

  14. Was the Anno series (1404, 1503, 1602 and 1701) known outside europe/germany ? Wiki claims Anno1404 was named Dawn of Discovery on the american market. I think they converted them for consoles.

Yes, they were released under the Anno brand a while ago. I'm surprised that link mentioned Ikariam over Ogame...

  15. Pyx just posted a small snippet for us on the SIF.

So that just leaves us with the question of Holy Hannah! are Keen Games?

Having had a look at the other job's they've got, they're hiring Lead Programmers for the consoles, Server Programmer, Build Engineer, QA Engineer, Gameplay Programmer, Network Engineer, Tool Programmer & an Audio Engineer, all for S3. That's an aweful lot of positions...
