The fifth tome WAS the ending.. A sort of Twilight Zone type thing... Btw... 4 of the 5 books are now part of the CM Patch. The 5th one should be in the next version - when/if that ever arrives.

BUT... if you want more. You might want to look into Sophia's Choice. It's my follow-up to this story and is the story of how the world of Ancaria in Sacred 2 and Sacred came to be. It's still a work in progress. Been taking some time off but will soon be working on it again.

  2. I dunno... It's a question I've pondered on occasion.

Thinking it never quite reached it's full potential mainly because it wasn't produced by a big name company - like Blizzard - that has more money for advertising and such.

The game has had a bit of a resurgence of late.. It's been released on Steam along with Sacred 2. Mostly because there WAS a bit of buzz over Sacred 3 which is now.. well... we don't know what's up with that. Deep Silver's been quieter than a church mouse about it for a rather long time.

  3. I seem to have a bias against cruciferous vegetables in my desert...but I also do remember my aunt adding carrots to stuff sometimes to give it that extra "juice"

Guess a bilnd taste test here will solve all

What? You've never heard of or tried CARROT CAKE?

Actually, It's a very tasty pastry. Usually comes with a sweetened cream cheese icing. I'm sure they got some of that in your neck of the woods.

Here's a link to the recipe and a few pictures..

  4. When you were 17, did you ever asked a girl for a dance event and when ringing at her door there is a big man opening it: wielding a bloody axe in his hand and wearing a blood smeared apron? Then a girl is screaming...

Happened 2 years ago when I butchered a boar and my then 16 year old daughter noticed that her shoes fall prey to a wild animal called dog. Wished I had a camera at this moment... He turned white in the fraction of a second.

You know, there's numerous gags in TV and film of a young man coming to pick up his date and confronting her dad... BUT this one takes the cake!

I'll wager he needed a change of underwear and any improper moves he might have planned for your daughter were immediately forgotten!

  5. Um.. OK.. Tho the forum software already has the 1st one - it's visible anytime you hover the mouse over your name in the post listings..

According to that, I've been here since April 28th, 2010...

That means I've been on here 3 years, 6 months, 4 weeks and 2 days.. Gotta luv Windows 7's calculator for figuring that out...

As to how I got here.. Google. A friend of mine handed me the disks for Sacred 2 and wanted me to find out if it was a good game or not. I had some questions about stuff and did a Google search which brought me here. Wound up signing in and well. the rest, as they say is history.

  6. Brian Dunkleman is (in?)famous for being one of the original judges on American idol way back when it first started. He quit very quickly and has fallen back into obscurity...

As far as the merchant goes... He pops up in random locations AND with a different specialty. In one location, he may be a horse trader, in another he may be a general merchant, a unique mount vendor in a third and a blacksmith in the 4th. He's a jack of many trades.

The merchant also has a different name in the various translations of the CM Patch - all to hopefully better relate to the target audience.

TBH... I don't know why Brian Dunkleman's name was used as he isn't much of a merchant. Not even a pitchman really. Beyond that stint on American Idol, it's not like he's made any sort of name for himself otherwise.

Better suggestion would be maybe Billy Mays - which those of you at least in the US might recognize as THE most annoying pitchman to ever stand before a camera and shill something. He's one of the few people in this world I am glad is dead. Not that I wished he would do so, just that he did it all on his own. The guy's voice is INSANELY annoying, a nasal/gravelly sounding voice that makes fingernails on a chalkboard sound pleasant. I was frequently wishing I had a brick handy to throw thru the TV. I think you might be able to find some of his commercials on YouTube.

  7. Actually.. it likely does.

First off, the versions they're talkin' about are positively ANCIENT! The latest and greatest Fallen Angel is 2.43. And with any luck those fixes found in this patch would likely been implemented in the official version. So yeah.. it will have a different MD5 hash.

Secondly, if you've got the full Steam version installed you're already up to at least 2.64 or 2.65...

What I can't figure out is why you would try installing this old, outdated and obsolete patch?

  8. Welcome back..

First off, it's Sacred 2: Ice and Blood..

Secondly, it's available at Steam and Amazon for $20.00... Still a most reasonable price compared to the original MSRP.

And yes, playing online by way of Deep Silver's servers is history and has been for a couple of years. There are some who play by way of Tungle or some other similar gaming packages. Look around the forums and see if you can find someone you can hook up with as well as instructions on how to get connected.

  9. Here's another alt version of I Burn done by CDanielART..

I like his versions better than most as he puts quite a bit more effort into producing his videos than some. He got lyrics, video footage from the series and/or trailers, plus some cool looking effects.

  10. Love the goat cheese as an ingredient. Imaginative and daring.

Looks like you pulled it off...remember next time to take a pic so we can salivate over it!

    :)

Meh.. Not much point to it.. You seen one white creamy cheese sauce on pasta, you've pretty much seen them all.

BUT.. If you must have visuals.. It looks a lot like this:

    post-14586-0-25826100-1384784289.jpg

Sheep cheese with pine seeds, rucola field salade, dusted dried tomatos, pepper, thistle oil and preferred bear garlic (normal if not the season), and spaghetti, yummy.

My last Nudel/noodle/pasta recipe was like: take 50(FIFTY) pounds spaghetti,... and heat the Gulaschkanone. Gulaschkanone, goulash canon, is century old german army slang for a field kitchen. At prussian army the field canon and the field kitchen shared same chassis and the long chimney looked like a gun barrel from the distance.

Was for our local village soccer club , last games this year before winter. Sadly the recipe for the goulash sauce with spaghetti only tastes real good if cooked in such large amounts.

Sounds sort of like the pesto sauce I make..

Basil leaf (fresh), sun dried tomatos, garlic, pine nuts, olive oil and garlic (the regular variety) and parmesan cheese...

Blitz in a blender or food processor and serve over hot pasta.. YUM..

Tho, I suppose sheep cheese (Romano) would be a good substitute for the parmesan.

  11. Sometimes, I amaze myself with some of the stuff I come up with in the kitchen.

Case in point. The local supermarket had some goat cheese crumbles in the mark down bin. So I got a couple of them.

I got to thinking this might make a good sauce for pasta - and it DOES!

    Here's what goes into it...

1 lb package of fettuccini or linguini (your choice) cooked per directions

4 oz tubs of goat cheese crumbles x3

    1 pint Half and Half

    6 cloves garlic, crushed

2 jalapeno, seeded, deveined and chopped into small bits

2 Tbs parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

4 oz mushrooms, cleaned and sliced

2 heaping Tbs of sour cream

1 Tbs of Sriracha sauce (optional)

    salt and pepper to taste.

    2 Tbs olive oil

Cook the pasta per package directions and set it aside.

In a large skillet, put the olive oil in and heat it up. Add in the mushrooms and sauté them a few mins on high heat to get them cooked.

Turn the heat off. Add the garlic and stir well. Add in the goat cheese crumbles and the half and half. Stir well. Turn the heat back on - to the lowest possible setting on your stove. Allow the goat cheese to melt into the half and half. Continue to stir as the cheese blends into the sauce. Add the parmesan cheese and sour cream into the sauce and blend with a spoon. Add the Sriracha sauce and stir well.

With a spoon, taste the sauce as it is and adjust the seasoning with salt and/or pepper.

Once the sauce is ready, drop in the chopped jalapeno bits and stir them in. You want them mostly raw to give you a bit of a crunch...

Important note: This sauce gets a bit thick and dry when you mix the pasta in with it and it cools off. It's best to keep them separate until you're ready to eat. The pasta absorbs the moisture from the sauce - which is mostly a good thing. The pasta absorbs the flavor as well.

    Additions:

You can add meat into the dish or serve it on the side.

Welcome options include bacon bits. Chop 1/2 pound bacon into small bits, fry until cooked, then remove the bacon bits. Drain excess bacon fat and leave about 2 Tbs on the bottom of the pan to keep things from sticking. Prepare sauce as above, adding the bacon bits back in at the end along with the jalapenos.

Meatballs: Either store bought or home made. Prepare them as you like.

Chicken: cut chicken breast(s) into bite sized pieces. Remove from heat, prepare the sauce as above, add the chicken in at the end. Do not overcook chicken unless you happen to like rubbery stuff.

Cheese and Fish do not normally go well together, so fish and seafood is not recommended.

  12. Ah.. I know why I didn't recognize that.. Was having problems with IE... DOH! And wound up getting distracted toward the end there. Had something come up and I forgot to rewind and watch the relevant parts again.

Ah well. My bad for not doing so.

  13. Nice find..!

My only issue - some of the comments posted IN the video - like "this will be your grave if you don't buy this on iTunes.." Not very funny, nor much of an incentive to buy the music.

Speaking of which... The music tracks are indeed expanded versions of all of the original songs. Interestingly "I Burn" has a 2nd verse and a rather... NSFW rap part omitted (probably for the best since they mention Marvel Comics characters that have NOTHING to do with RWBY)...

Hmm Interesting.. There's some GOLD to be mined in those videos as well. In track 8, "I May Fall" there's a part starting about 3:11 into the video that has footage NOT used in Season/Series 1! Shows Blake holding a blade to Torchwick's throat, followed by a battle that has Boop Girl using some rather interesting new moves..

It also seems Jeff Williams is also a fan of DragonBall Z.. In track 10, the "I Burn" remix, there's actually lyrics posted for the 2nd verse - and we find out why it was cut from the series and trailers. There's a line in there about her going Super Saiyan (which actually some reviewers mentioned her doing in the YouTube comments on the original trailer... Yeah, I know.. YouTube comments... Lol).

The big surprise is track 12.. Don't recall hearing that anywhere in the series..

  14. Welp... IE 11 is behaving itself today. Not quite sure if it has to do with the patches that came down from Windows Update or if it had to do with rebooting.

Flash Player may be partially to blame. The latest update for it has been less than rock solid - especially with IE 11. Seems to be mostly stable for Chrome, but it still blows chunks every now and then - usually at the worst possible times. Of course.

  15. bjh is correct to a degree. Having a browser with known vulnerabilities can be bad news. The part where he's a bit off the mark - you have to USE the browser, actually, on the internet in order to get into trouble. If the vulnerabilities aren't active, there's no way for anyone to exploit them.

That said, you never know when you may actually have a need for it. Like if Firefox and/or Chrome both decide to pack it in at the same time and you need a browser to download a clean, fresh copy of the latest/greatest version of your favorite alt browser. Or a friend may want to pop over and check their email.

Me, I use all 3 of these browsers. They have their specific uses. I actually log in to here and certain other web sites with IE. I use Chrome and FF for other sites that are more graphically demanding... Pages that are heavy on Flash, for instance, are best viewed/played on Chrome. FF is a distant second and IE is an even more distant 3rd in that regards.

Also having different browsers is also good for logging into places with different accounts on the same site.. I have 3 Hotmail accounts - and can access all three of them independently by logging into Hotmail.com using different browsers - and I don't have to link the three of them together ever. This is good for keeping your business life separated from everything else.
