  1.

OK.. Any idea where this sword in the stone is located in Grunwald? Say, in relation to the temple or any other landmark?

I have been there twice while uncovering the fog. I will have to get in-game and mark it so I can pin point it on the map.

No rush.. I found it.. It was in pretty much the last block of fog left on that particular area... (Isn't it always?)

The new page for it is up!

  2. In evening there were Autokorso's. An Autokorso is when people catch flags, jump in their cars without planing it, and wave them while driving slowly on the main streets of towns. On countryside all the people from nearby villages meet in a central place, district town. Don't find an english word for it, so here a video from 2010 after the match versus england:

I don't believe there is a word for that sort of thing - at least not in the US.

You see, here, if it was a US world cup win, the white and african american people wouldn't be exactly excited. Soccer here in the US isn't really considered a sport worthy of attention by many people. Not even David "Bender" Beckham has been able to really do much to raise the sport's status. For that matter, neither did the legendary Pele...

The hispanic people, on the other hand, would do something similar to what your videos showed. In fact, I saw some of them doing just that when Mexico won it's first first round game. The only thing is - there weren't quite so many cars, nor horns...

On the other hand, if this was the final game of say, the NBA championship, the winning team's city would erupt in a bit more violent celebration. The last couple of times the LA Lakers won, things got out of hand and there were a few minor riots. Think party in Artamark vs the same sort of party somewhere in the Orc region. NO comparison.

Somehow this 2006 summer feeling made its way into Sacred2 too. 7 places I found with soccerballs laying around, some statues with german players and the national team coach, ....

Again I do not know if the statues are same in the international versions, but the soccerballs are there, I know it.

If you've got the time and can recall where they might be, feel free to grab some screenshots and post 'em on line... I'm sure that would make Gogo's day...!

  3. When I saw the name on the thread I couldnt help myself.

Check out this version of the ultimate rodent trap: TREBUCHET

Just imagine our very large rodent caught in this darkages warhead!

    I remain, :)

Hmmm. I'd like to see his even bigger model. Flinging a double decker bus.. That should be spectacular. At that point, Gar'Colousus shouldn't be too difficult to get airborne...

Was just doing a bit of mental math on the pic. Just trying to get my head around how big it really is. I figure the cheese wheel is about 3 foot diameter. Or roughly a meter. The wood then seems to be about 4 times as long or ~4 yards/meters. It's about ~2 yards/meters wide and I'll guess about 1/2 yards/meters thick.

The spring therefore would have to be about 4 times thicker than those found on an 1950's era car.

The thing it reminded me of most - a rodent the size of

    ...
  4. I wonder if the poo is in the form of a moebius knot /trefoil knot. If it is it will have no start and no end. What a strange beast will produce something like this. Interesting digesting system.

    Well, now I know!

THAT's why you don't feed the Llama8 curries! (grave inscription somewhere...)

    Makes sense to me...

Speaking of graves... Anyone up for a section on celebrity graves or statuary? There's a bunch in the Thylysium cemetary - and in a sense they're a double easter egg. You know the ones - "Warren Zevon - So long and thanks for all the music".

The "So long and thanks for all the ____" bit is a nod to Douglas Adams' classic 4th part of the Hitchiker's Guide Trilogy "So Long and Thanks for All The Fish".

  5. The dragonmaw pass is dividing the land like the former berlin wall.

I don't know if it is same in non german versions. If you cross the dragonmaw pass through the big doors (strangely in west-east direction) an officer Schaboffski is giving you 100 coins when you speak to him.

Before german re-union each visitor from eastern germany got a present of 100 german marks when visiting west germany. This was called Begrüßungsgeld (welcome money).

Günter Schabowski (probably the name giver for the officer) was the politician who said, when asked in an international life interview, when the wall would be opened: 'As far as I know, right now'. He was informed that it was going to be opened but not that it should take place a day later, so the border guards had no knowledge about this opening 'right now'.

    --------------------

Also if you listen to marketplace dialogues, there is one that a brown bear is striving near forests and that the chief hunter Stoibärian is dealing with the problem.

    Historical fact:

In 2006 a brown bear, nick named Bruno, was striving the bavarian/austrian border region. Stoiber was the minister president of bavaria at this time, Bär is german for bear. So Stoibärian is a joke mixing the 2 words. Stoiber ordered that the bear had to be shot, after several tries to catch it failed. Newpapers were full of it in germany this summer with photos and places the bear was seen.

    --------------------

Think if I read an annual collection of newpapers headlines from 2005-2007 I will find more stuff.

Ah.. Yes.. I have come across the Schaboffski fellow and have a chat with him every time I go into Artamark for the first time. What the heck. Free money is always good. He's in the US version as well.

There's no explanation as to why he's there though - never quite made the connection with the Berlin Wall. Definitely an inside joke amongst the older German programmers who remember the pre-reunification rituals.

Mega bummer about Bruno the bear.

  6. Since we're on the topic of Easter Eggs....

Ok... I found one... Not quite so sure how...appropriate it might be, however.

I recall Llama8 teasing about a quest involving some "electric poo"... I have a picture of said item. No quest involved with the substance. It's just a landmine sitting in the road in the middle of a forest. No idea what kinda critter dropped it. Didn't stop to ask. Not that the werewolves or spiders in the immediate area would have answered in a way that was intelligent.

Figured I'd ask before offending anyone by posting it.

Secondly... I noticed there were some pics missing/deleted from the Alien easter egg page. Do we have any idea what they were before they became toast?

  7. I saw you were into the Easter Eggs too... the new Star Wars page for the wiki easter eggs is great

    :)

    gogo

I see you and Schot were busy beavers today with the Easter Egg Page - Looks nice... Didn't recognize it at first!

Sacred 2 Easter Eggs on SacredWiki

Got another one for you. I was coming out of the mine owner's yard heading for the cemetary hill next to Artamark's Gate and almost tripped on a rather large rock with the caption that reads:

    Memorial

In memoriam of the victims of the great accident in the Ikarion mine.

OK.. So it's not the prettiest rock in the game, but eh.. It's an egg for sure... There's a new page up in the Easter Egg section for it.

Edit: I also found a picture of the mother of all mouse traps... It's also now got a shrine page in the Easter Egg section.

  8. I wonder whether the skill Delphic Arcania Focus besides offering (Improves regeneration and raises max Combat Art level for this aspect) has something direct with Grand invigoration? As the Delphic Arcania Lore than with the silver mod (Life Energy) Hitpoint increases the regeneration rate.

To answer your question a bit more directly... I don't believe there's much benefit to DA Focus when it comes to Grand Invigoration only. Buffs as a whole don't have a regen/cooldown time themselves. Buffs DO have an effect on OTHER combat arts - mostly to the negative as they raise the cooldown/regen times for the most part. Grand Invigoration is an exception. You can mod it to either reduce the penalty on either Arrant Pyromancer or Mystic Stormite.

So... The question is - does Delphic Arcana Focus help reduce penalties/regen times for either of those two (whichever mod you chose)? I haven't really noticed any major drop on my level 52 HE build. I got DA Focus fairly late (Level 35) and the stats on GI didn't change. I did see the +55% for all combat arts with a -33% on Arrant Pyromancer. As it is, I am still able to get my favorite AP CAs down to the 3.5 second regen range. My DA Cobalt Strike was down to about 3.4 seconds as well. My Grand Invigoration is at about level 15. My HE is level 52 and for the last however many levels, I've been spamming points into the 3 focus skills and Concentration.

Edit: There IS actually one benefit to having DA Focus. DA Focus will allow you to have a higher level (I.e. eat more Grand Invigoration runes), hence increasing the benefits of GI, without penalty. Read more about it on the Sacred Wiki here at the bottom.

  9. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=28hexld&s=7

The Armours are: 5/7 of the set Calendrhils(?) Pandamonium (Only need armlets and helmet!), the rest are Adornments of the Ancestors

The rings are Fire Damage Modifiers

The Pendants raise my Intelligence, +5 each.

Weapon is Tinworas Curse and Shield is Stalwort Safeguard

Edit: Also I have Damage Modifiers from Blacksmith Arts (Whet) on some of the Sockets. Im currently searching for more Fire Damage rings, which I think will Boost my High Elfs damage even higher then if I just used Blacksmith Arts.

I'm thinking you may be missing something important. One of the High Elf's best defense tools is Expulse Magic. While it probably isn't too much of a big deal against some mobs, there are some bosses - mini and maxi - that can drop a world of hurt on you - like debuffing your Crystal Skin and Grand Invigoration. Expluse Magic can be quite useful to debuff them before they debuff you.

  10. I like the build.

Main CAs: Blazing and Meteors. That's all you need, really. Ancestral is good, but it hits only 2-3 enemies, while blazing will allow you to kill en masse.

Build: I would suggest that you take Delphic lore as last skill and mod your Grand Invigoration for Life energy. With constitution mastery + GI + life energy + delphic lore, you will regen more than 1000 HP/s later on.

Attributes: if it's your first char, I'd go 1 vit till 50, 1/1 vit/int till 150. If not, and you know what to expect, take constitution early, master it by level 75 and go 1 int, 1/1 vit int, 1/2 vit int route.

    Yeah.. It sounds OK..

Tho I would add Delphic Arcana focus and build up Cobalt Strike. It's pretty useful in situations where you've got baddies sneaking up behind you as well as in front. I'd go with the two chain mods and the explode mod at the end. It's quite effective with those mods at taking out 5 - 6 baddies (depending on how closely packed they are) at a time. And it has a chance to bounce behind you to get that one guy trying to sneak up on you as well.

  11. You've inspired me to do some edits on the EasterEggs page! I'm excited about this actually because I've never really been pulled into quests. But Quests and Eggs are all that's left to tidy up this Wiki. I'm going to start running campaigns a bit more often to actually "see" a bit more of Ancaria than I have with just making builds... I think I'll take a walk on the RPG side...and along the way I'll canvas some pix for quests to help you out with and the Easter Eggs.

    Onwards!

    :)

    gogo

Very cool... I think we can make sacredwiki THE ultimate resource for all things Sacred 2...

One minor issue I'm having - and I'm not sure if it's IE 8, or what. On one of the quests I did last night, I had a difficult time getting an external link inserted into the entry. The drop down with the Insert Special Item | Insert External Link didn't seem to work properly. I was trying to insert a link to a wikiepdia entry to show another easter egg of sorts - the quest log's entry says "I love it when a plan comes together." That's a line made popular by one of the characters on that program. Seemed like a good idea to link the two. I had to insert a regular link instead.

  12. I saw you were into the Easter Eggs too... the new Star Wars page for the wiki easter eggs is great

    :agreed:

    gogo

Yeah.. Well.. Just had to do it. I figure it's content no one else seems to have. The only reference, for instance, on Wolfe's Lair to Star Wars was llimited to lightsabers.

Edit: I just finished another chain quest on the Wiki... 7 Days of Rainy Weather and it's companion - A Radical Solution.

Edit 2: Just wrapped up yet another chain quest - The Fat Rat - now available on the Wiki...

Edit 3: And a 3rd one bites the dust of being ignored... The Legend of Gronkor is now up for your perusal...

All three are available from the Quests | Chain Quests | Chapter 3 section...

  13. Thanks...

I've got a couple more from the Orc region happening in the next day or so.

Organizing isn't too bad. It helps to have the entire chain done, do a screen shot of all quests, trim and convert them to JPG, upload 'em to photobucket, then create the master chain quest. From there it's just a matter of doing each quest in the chain, one at a time in the order they happened.

Tho... I do have ONE thing I'm not entirely sure about.

At the bottom of every quest, there's the section where you have to pick the catagory. The primary quest - is obviously a "chain quest" but the individual quests for that chain don't seem to work properly. Not quite what they should be linking to or how.
