  1. Speaking of FPS hit, is anyone finding Swirling Mist of Miasma lags the game a whole lot graphically (cause it sure aint servers when I'm in Single Player)?

All three encounters with it had me considerably slowed down, the "camera moves because its a boss" thing sure doesn't help either. The moment it died, everything was fine.

The only issue gameplay wise with this, is that it makes the 2nd and 3rd encounter's "tornado" attack harder to avoid. And I know it's pretty strong. Wouldn't be funny to die in hardcore just because of a FPS drop.

  2. Been talking about this over at DA too.

Seems that the main quest cannot be done on the closed servers with new toons.

Toons made before the server update still are able to continue the campaign.

Until they complete a difficulty, then they're having the same issue, just in the next one instead...

This bug has topics starting on the 5th, and it's not fixed late on the 8th? It's a pretty major bug. If anything they could revert to build 1453 server-wise until they find a fix.

  3. Has anyone else encountered this, and knows how to possibly fix it? Starting a new game, restarting the client, none of those seems to fix it.

I didn't have the problem yesterday on ClosedNet, but, yesterday I was playing with Client and Server both 1453, since then Server updated to 1460 for some unknown reason.

  4. Unfortunately, testing the *minimums* for regions wasn't just as easy as this. You'd need to be severely underlevel for the region, YET survive it, just to be sure. Though one is obvious, High Elf in Bronze, minimum is 1 (in ClosedNet, if you immediately go north of Sloeford, you'll see the minimum is lv 2 regardless).

  5. Max levels for specific regions (with just about no Survival Bonus, at lv 200):

    Bronze

    High Elf 14

    Human 19

    Orc 22

    Seraphim 23

    Dragon 26

    Swamp 30

    Desert 33

    Jungle 34

    Jungle Isle 35

    Wastelands 38

    Silver

    High Elf 48

    Human 54

    Orc 57

    Seraphim 58

    Dragon 61

    Swamp 65

    Desert 68

    Jungle 69

    Jungle Isle 70

    Wastelands 73

    Gold

    High Elf 94

    Human 99

    Orc 102

    Seraphim 103

    Dragon 106

    Swamp 110

    Desert 113

    Jungle 114

    Jungle Isle 115

    Wastelands 118

Those levels have been confirmed, though if Survival Bonus can make them *exceed* this level is unknown, I think this is the absolute maximum. For example, if you were level 30 and had a Survival Bonus making enemies 3 levels above in Wastelands region, they would still be under 38 (at 33 in the example). At 35 they would reach 38, then the gap would close in, til you pass them at 39 (you) and 38 (enemies).

  6. If it meant that the shield was absorbing 50% of all damage, that would be over-powered.

Not really over-powered because your shield goes down faster than your HP does. Against any boss my shield will be gone within 10 seconds if they hit me. Then I put up Divine Protection, which goes down equally fast.

It's really nice against normal enemies though.

And it's not a mod, Revered Technology (of any other aspect) has no points, yet I do see "Absorption Warding Energy +50%" in sigma. Which is not the "Ward Efficiency" (this would be "Max Shield Energy").

The last one is "Block Warding Energy" which is an absolute minus to damage. Block/Mitigation isn't the same as Absorption. The skill Warding Energy Lore gives points a bonus to Absorption Warding Energy...and while the skill says its an absolute amount, sigma shows it as a %.

The last bonus related to it would be Regeneration of the shield acquired at Mastery of Warding Energy Lore (or found on items as bonuses). The total regeneration of shield shows in the non-sigma summary (where you see Survival Bonus).

Said regeneration is slower than HP without Constitution, and cannot regenerate during battle.

The damage I take at level 30, by level 34 opponents, is significantly reduced, and they don't hit me for 5 and 6. They hit me for 100-150 (and still get ~80 in their face).

It might still work like you say, the problem is we can't verify. Even when I was testing, this would have been hard to test.

  7. "and they're buggy now so when they go invisible, you have to wait till it wears off and you can land more blows in, or just run away"

Or have Reflect: Close Combat: 33.5% like I do, and just watch them suicide.

Their misses count as reflected (if you evade, they still get damaged their attack-power's worth).

I prefer the portion between the two portals (entrance of Jungle, versus port of Jungle). Or make a long run and go up to Dyr-Lain. Then from Dyr-Lain, teleport to the jungle entrance, or save, exit and start a new game.

I never worry about DoT. I use Magic because apparently Freeze only slows movement speed (good for Dryad...but otherwise). It's Weaken (Olms use it in Swamp) that slows down attack speed (grey cloud in the character's face).

So I mod both my swords to have conversion to Magic.

PS: I'd really like to know how to take screenshots without the relevant info (every menu etc) going away when I press print-screen...

  8. "Warding Energy (more useful early game, as the shield only gives an absolute damage mitigation, not the % mitigation that Toughness gives)"

    I think sigma shows differently.

Sigma shows it as 50% shield energy absorption, and calculates the efficiency as "shield energy". It might *also* blck an absolute (but low) amount of damage. From what I know, even at 30 vs 33 mobs, having my shield on versus it being depleated makes a visible difference. When I get hit 100 dmg, I wouldn't expect a Damage Mitigation of "7" to reduce it significantly.

Same for getting the skill Warding Energy Lore. It will show in sigma as additional shield energy absorption (listed separately) and shield energy max.

For example of how powerful it can be, see Gar'Colossus's shield, if you don't hit the rocks he throws at you...and his HP doesn't even get lower until the shield is gone.

Their shield might have different stats, but it's probably the same game mechanics, or the shield for Seraphim and Temple Guardian would be useless. I don't see the point of including a skill that is only good for the first 2 hours of play.

  9. Okay, I can confirm that completing Bronze with a Seraphim doing only Mainquest and Classquest (and Hold Up and Bandits, cause they're on the way), brings the total max explored at 19.3%, so the achievement "Less than 20% map explored when finishing game" is acquirable in normal (rush) play.

I finished it at level 30, and I never stopped to level up more, though I killed everything on my way. No deaths as well, with my Seraphim.

  10. Are you sure those level ranges are correct? In an earlier build, the minimum for Wastelands in Bronze was 21.

I made them up except the Jungle Gold one, which I know for sure.

It gives you a general idea. To test them, one would need to or have a lv 200 character doing this. Go there at level 40 (with enemies higher), check enemy levels. Bring a lv 200 char there, check levels. Do this in single so levels are not affected by other players.

  11. You haven't seen the Seraphim dual-wielding with Hydras as weapons (those 3-headed thingies in the Swamp region)?

I had someone have a horse stuck to his front, and at some other time he had a cat apparently standing on his waist. Then later his waist vanished altogether.

  12. I thought I would Sword Lore and not invest any points in it as I was using Dual Wield. Figured I would get any items mods on swords. Then I found this.....

Seems item mods at higher lvls also require the mastery of that skill. Just something to keep in mind as you're assigning points or planning a build

Yeah I saw those as well. Armor Lore Mastery can also be required for certain items.
