  1. Nice guide and something I was thinking of as a trader to go alongside my multitude of chars. Athough I started my own today before seeing this, DOH!

So might restart, hell 14 is nothing hehe!

One thing about the fireball, while playing I took the Fusilade skill, and it is a bit hit and miss. It does spilt, but even with the hot pursuit, it they won't always both hit a solo target. I was thinking it would be better to take the Glode mod. Seems better to make sure that you get max damage on 1 target, than have 1 hit and 1 miss, which has been the case 75% of the time.

Sure it nice if you have 2 targets ahead of you but then you might as well use BT for them.

I chose fusillade (w/o hot pursuit) and even at point blank both fireballs rarely hit the same enemy, I've noticed (after following the fireballs that "missed") that it seems like one hits the targeted enemy while the other targets the next-nearest enemy (which sometimes isn't anywhere near me). So I think I'll try globe on this character :)

Though, if you're going fire wouldn't damage lore be good (for the + %damage for secondary effects-more burn damage)? Just wondering as I think I'll be leaving EP out (want a shopper mainly, and playing a fire HE as opposed to fire/ice sounds like fun), and taking something else instead.

  2. Unreal,

When I started Sacred 2 I noticed that it requires good items to be successful. And with the high elf's initial troubles [later she's a beast] things can be frustrating having to suck dry all those health pots against lowly enemies.

My suggestion is to create a strong fighter who will act as your shopper. Allow this character to get that high survival bonus and whip through the bosses while collecting the items your other character needs. Then when you use your high elf, she'll be better prepared to fight and survive. I really like the Temple Guardian for this as his death spears are truly boss killers. I collect of sorts of things with this character; high bargain, enhanced perception ect...

^ Yes. As I haven't raised all the classes to max level (or even one really) I'm not sure about some of them but imo the HE is the slowest class to get going. Though I use my shadow warrior for potion collection (grim resilience + NA or RE=barely ever use health pots->hundreds and hundreds of health pots to put in the chest).

  3. Don't think you actually need any general skills, though it's suggested you have one to two characters (one with bargaining and ep or two that both have one of these skills). Think you only need one shopper and one rare hunter, though if you like finding uniques I'd try to squeeze EP into some of your other characters' builds. As for the other general skills, I never take any other skills, though some people who like cutting their travel time down will take Riding, and I think there are a few builds that take Divine Devotion in order to make their deity ability more effective. And blacksmithing is broken on consoles so I wouldn't take that on any character. IMO take EP on one character, choose another to take bargaining (they'll be able to shop for all of your characters), and other than that (imo) you'll be sacrificing the power of your build to take the other general skills. You might want to look up some good shopper/rare hunter builds in the guides section (like the january sales seraphim- I believe it involves being a dual wielding monster who also has EP and Bargaining). Hope this helps you out, good luck! :P

  4. Good show!

Cool! How did you learn to solve the cube so fast...is there a guide or book that you have to read to get the strategies?

I never got the "trick" of the cube... but sher did like throwing it at things when it didn't solve for me.

    :butcher:

    gogo

My brother and I just went to an internet rubik's cube site and wrote down the algorithms (only had to memorize 8 algorithms for the way I solve it :) ). Think you can also find plenty of videos on youtube that teach you how to solve it.

  5. I'm assuming you mean 20 and not 2. At level 1 your combat art without penalty is higher than 2 even without focus.

Did you mean 20 or 2?

This sounds more likely than 2. I know on my HE (level 40) w/ Delphic Arcania focus at 20 and having +CA level items and having eaten 20 runes for Grand Invigoration it's at CA level 25.8 or something like that, w/o sufficient points in your Focus skill your CA level will only increase by .1 to .9 points per rune eaten, so you may have come to the point where your CA level is boosted beyond the Focus level.

  6. Torchlight is rumored to hopefully be out by holidays for XLA/PSN. Hopefully we get the second one two.

Get to buy it again and 2 twice :) Couch co op ftw.

I wounder if they will leave the modding open on PS3. Epic did it for UT3, more people need to do this.

just read the quote in your post, sounds pretty cool, if it plays anything like champions of norrath/baldur's gate: dark alliance I'll have to give it a try.

Sony needs to do a HD collection of this and ress the series.

ress? I agree, especially since champions of norrath & champions rta had online modes with a whole 'nother difficulty level, I think they'd be a lot more playable if they were re-released on the 360/ps3 (with drop in/drop out type multiplayer, like Sacred 2). If they do that I'd be crossing my fingers (in vain) for them to actually release baldur's gate: dark alliance 3 (why do you make 2 parts of a trilogy and then just drop it!?).

Anywho, just visited the main page for torchlight and it looks pretty good, especially since my pc could (probably) run it w/o massive framerate reduction. That and the free game editing tool seems pretty awesome too. Though I'm wondering, what exactly is the retirement option I've read about? Seen it compared to new game+, though it sounds like you just choose one item to give to a newer character.

So I downloaded the demo, and loved it :D

  7. there are a few quests I like to do, the Undead Legion, Blind Guardian and Kobold Chieftan quests mostly, as well as the demon killing quest and the quest where you kill the dragon boss on seraphim island. Legion and Guardian for the items (Boneslicer & Instruments) and the other 3 for the enemies you kill (Chieftan quest spawns Gahanka (boss), demon killing quest summons 1 then 3 then 5+ demons for you to fight, as well as giving you quest experience between each fight, and the other quest on the seraphim island teleports you to a chamber to kill a dragon boss). There's also a quest on the seraphim island that has you killing the elementals (that you wind up fighting anyway) so that's a good one too.

  8. think you might want to go for a HE or an Inquisitor, think they both get bargaining as a primary skill choice. Using a HE with MageFan's Icy Hot Patch build, planning to take bargaining last (or second to last) and she's already level 30, though I think an Inquisitor built to use Clustering Maelstrom a lot will level up faster (or cause the game to freeze) :)

  9. ;):)

I really need to get this for pc...coolest armor set in the game. Think a cool effect for the hellhound would be burning/glowing effects along the cracks running through its skin.

Sweet! One of those things I've really waited for a long time. Truth to be told, the original armours and stuff tend to get tad boring to look after hundreds of gaming hours. :P

    Completely agree ;)

  10. think there's a good post about a level grinding spot in the pc general discussion section. Lower left side of the elven realm, there should be a path leading north (starts right above the beach, the one that leads up to the White Griffon I believe), there should be a cave on the northeast side of the path (path turns left), inside there are 3 elite elementals and 2 normal elementals, kill them quick, don't open the chests exit and re-enter and they should respawn. If your HE is a shopper I would go for +all skills/+general skills/+bargaining and teleport between 2 merchants until you find good items for your character, I've peopel have actually said it's easier to outfit their character w/ bargaining as you can reset shop inventory until you find roughly what you're looking for, even though you only find 2 star items they're stats are often (in my experience) close to/better than some set pieces (though they won't have set bonuses).

  11. Gotta say...really loving this build so far, thanks! If you're going to mastery in Delphic Arcania Focus (eventually) wouldn't you be able to mod more than just GI though? Wiki offers an alternative to Skull Smash mod-> use shadow step>stuns all enemies>if you use slowing/stunning CAs you could take both the increase damage mods for IS, maximizing it's damage output (if you can slow/stun/somehow keep enemies in place long enough to take all hits). Also, planning to mod Shadow Step for healing/temp. invulnerability, but does anyone know if the Mend mod is broken on consoles (because so many other useful effects are...)? Expulse Magic (Protection mod)seems like it could come in handy too.

Also wondering about difference in damage between a HE that takes the fire demon as a 3rd buff vs. a HE that only runs 2 buffs w/maxed Ice & Fire Lores since the fire demon only offers a boost to fire damage.

    Also Also,

73% Physical and 27% Ice Damage. Percent of Ice damage increases per Combat Art level

Hurricane - Increases lightning frequency. (50% increase in hit speed)

Wrath - Ice damage of lightning is increased. (71.4% increase in Ice damage)

So if the spell trades more and more physical damage for ice damage, at higher CA levels wouldn't Wrath be more beneficial?
