  1. I found the file, yet I dont know how this can help me, because -at least what I see- are mainly models and not texture. I know you havent done what I'm looking to do but could you guide me a bit with this file fleet?

Anyway I'm kinda resigned cause I cant find a way... :P

Sorry. I can't help as I haven't used that method, and I don't have the game loaded. Perhaps another member here can assist you.

  2. Ty for replying fleet! Yes, I thought that option yet, its kinda a lot of work I think. What I'm kinda looking for a way to change to change one of the predetermined skin colors, like the ones you can choose when you create a character, yet I dont know if that even possible.

Ty again! If anyone else have some idea about this, please share it :D

Look at some of the mods that modify the itemtype.txt file. That method should work for you. I can't help you with that method as I didn't use it. The caveat on modifying the itemtype.txt file is, whenever the game is patched, the patch overwrites that file.

    very respectfully,

    fleet

  3. Hi guys, I'm quite new to the forum and the game, yet not to RPG.

So... I was trying to make my Pyromancer HE with a white skin (like really white, like a geisha, something similar). Something like this Example

I have Ice&Blood with latest patches, and the skin colors I can choose didnt really fit with what I was looking for. I decided to search here and there and found HE make up and I thought "Hey, I could edit the base skin of the toon to be white". So I tried and some part worked and some other didn't. I had face, legs and some other parts like I wanted and the rest failed.

I'm kinda stuck here so I'm asking you guys if you can help me with this please:) I'd really appreciate the help cause I really like the game and I want to enjoy it to the fullest.

    Thank you in advance!

Ow, and sorry if my english sucks a bit xD!

You'll need to look at all of the armor for the HE, not just the base skin.

    very respectfully,

    fleet

  4. My question is :

its possible change the HE special mount skin buy the PNG hypocamp skin:

    mini_751435qsdqd.png

    for more fun ....

If they both use the same model replacing the textures would be the way to go. The medium quality textures are in the grpahics02.zip compressed file. Open it with winzip, winrar, or 7zip. The path to the riding creatures textures is as follows:

    mq\maps\npc\ridingcreatures\

  5. Hi, I'm new to both sacred & dark matters and have just gotten hooked on modding the game.

I've been playing around with colors and textures a bit with my seraphim and now I'm wondering, is there anyway to make her hair white?

If I use console to change the color I can only get a blonde color. Do I have too mess around with textures? If so, where do I find the textures for the 3rd hair?

I'd appreciate any help I could get

EDIT: I've been messing around with textures a bit and finally managed to get some white hair, but I cant find the textures for seraphim hair 3. Anybody know where they are?

edit you're save game using hex editor n find hex related to hair color

That works with most colors, but if I change the hair color to FFFFFF on the seraphim it ends up being blond becuase the texture is that color, so I need to find the texture for the hair I want to change and make it white.

If you are using medium quality graphics settings, the hair texture are inside graphics02.zip. Use winzip or 7zip to open the file.

Path to the hair texture files is as follows:

mq\mapa\heroes\seraphim Look for the files with names starting with sera_hair1 and sera_hair2

If you are using the low quality graphics settings, look inside the graphics 04.zip file. Path and file names are as above.

I don't have the elite (high quality) files, so I can't provide any information about them. Maybe someone else can help you.

I wish you luck; others have tried to make white hair without success.

    very respectfully,

    fleet

  6. Medium quality texture files (skin color) are in the graphics02.zip file. When you open the archive files (use winzip, winrar, or 7 zip) look in the mq\maps\heroes\seraphim folder. The skin files are easy to identify. You'll need a graphics editor program (GIMP is a free download) with the Nvidia dds plug in (also a free downlaod) to edit the files.

  7. Then I have to change colour and saddle of all hellhounds? Seems quite difficult. Isn't the itemtype.txt file way easier?

Sorry, I think I misunderstood your original question. I assumed you wanted to substitute a different type of mount for a hell hound.

Is what you want to make one hell hound look like another? If that is the case, you can do it by extracting the appropriate dds (texture) files from graphics02.zip and following a procedure similar to what I told you to do with the models (gr2 files).

I have not used the 'modify itemtype.txt file' technique and so cannot offer any advice on it.

    Very respectfully,

    fleet

  8. Thank you very much for your answer, fleet. I downloaded granny viewer, but there's no colour and all hellhounds are the same. Where did you get the viewer from?

The granny viewer doesn't show the colors (textures). To see how your swapped models will look in the game you'll have to play the game. Try the renaming technique in my previous post with the m_spider.gr2 file, and see if it works.

    Best regards,

    fleet

  9. Ice and Blood add-on has improved a lot the appearance of the special mounts, as they have a unique aspect bridle now. However, it isn't that cool for a Shadow Warrior. Well, the hell hound is awesome, but they don't work ok (they don't give the proper aspect regeneration time bonus). For example, the DW HH (red one) gives Regeneration time: Astral Lord. As a result, I have to ride the malevolent champion in order to have the suitable reg time for my Shadow Warrior and go on a hell hound.

I'm just fed up with this, it sucks. Is there something you can change on the game files in order to change the hell hound appearance, or just change the bonus they provide?

Regarding changing the hellhound appearance. You can swap model files (have the hell hound look like another mount). It will still have the hell hound characteristics. There might be some problems with the characters movements in game.

Model files for the mound are in the graphics05.zip file. You'll need power archiver, winzip, winrar, or 7-zip to extract them. Once extracted, the mounts are in the following path

models\npc\ridingcreatures. The hellhound is in the folder named hoellenhund. They are models are gr2 files. You'll need grannyviewer (it's a free download) to see what the models look like. The hellhound model is named v_hellhoundreit-v1.GR2

Once you've determined what you want the hell hound to look like, create the following file structure in the pak folder of your game

    models\npc\ridingcreatures\hoellenhund

Copy v_hellhoundreit-v1.GR2 file and the gr2 file that you wish the hellhound to resemble into that folder. Rename v_hellhoundreit-v1.GR2 to original-v_hellhoundreit-v1.GR2, then change the name of the other file to v_hellhoundreit-v1.GR2.

There might also be a way to do this by modifying the itemtype.txt file. The problem with that technique is that each time the developer/publisher issues a patch they overwrite the itemtype.txt file.

If your experimentation does not work, simply delete the models folder and its contents.

    Good luck and have fun.

    Best regards,

    fleet

  10. If anyone wants the link to the site that hosts my undressed mods, they'll have to send me a PM, as per agreement with the site admin/moderators, I will not post the link in open forum.

I'm not working on any new mods.

Oh, I do publish the names of members who do not give me feedback on whether or not they like the undressed skins. :)

    Best regards,

    and very respectfully,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

  11. I've seen that most of the armour can appear in more than one colour and I was wondering if anyone has been able to change the colour of specific set of armour to one of the alternatives, or has any insights to share in this regard.

I looked around a bit in the scripts/shared dir in the sacred 2 install directory and there is a materials.txt file that defines different materials and id's for these materials, but in the itemtype.txt (also in the scripts/shared dir) file there doesn't seem to be any link to textures or materials, only to the models of items.

    Thanks in advance.

Hello. The texture files (those that contain the colors) are in a file called graphics02.zip Make a back up copy of this file before making any changes.

You can extract the files using powerarchiver, winzip, winrar or other file compression/decompression program. Note the folder structure. Where the files are located within the file structure is critical. The texture files themselves are in dds format, and can be modified using photoshop, paintshop pro, GIMP (it's free) , or some other graphics editor program. You will need to install the Nvidia dds plug (it's free) in to enable those programs to read and write to dds format. If you don't want to mess with the Nvidia plug in, you can use DDS Converter 2 (it's free) to convert dds files to jpg, edit them using GIMP or one of the other graphics editors, and then convert back to dds.

After you make the changes to the dds files, you can use the file compression program to put the modified dds files back into graphics02.zip

There is another way to bring the modified files into the game, but I won't go into that because I don't remember, and don't currently have Sacred 2 loaded.

There is at least one other topic here on making changes to characters.

Hey fleet. I was having some trouble as well up until a minute ago. If you're in Rich Text Editor mode then you might be stuck in that mode as well as to the fact that I think the mode is being blocked by our host along with the other recent problems.

You can change to Standard Editor for the time being by going to your My Controls-->Board Settings-->Type of text editor to use when posting-->Standard Editor.

That might fix the problem for you. Also when you type your postor pm, keep it very simple at first. Don't inlucde bbcode, urls and other stuff related to html. Preview your simplified message and if preview works then add in other stuff. Preview often so that if there is a word you type that is blocked it will be easy for you to find.

    This should be over soon.

Oh and ALSWAYS copy what you've typed before previewing or sending. Don't want you to lose valuable time. :)

I checked my setting and I was using standard editor. In order to send the requester the links to the undressed skins, I have to use html. This is the first time this error has happened. I only have permission from the moderators here to send links for the undressed skins via PM.

This is the error message in Mozilla.

    "Not Acceptable
