  1. Can whoever added the Skills Tables to the Wiki please tell me how the data was collected? My guess is increasing the Aspect etc by 1 in-game, write down the numbers and repeat until 201 points had been allocated rather than using a formula. If it was done using a formula or if anyone already has that formula I would love to be able to use that formula in my Calculator. I can hunt for formulae myself but of course if someone already has them it would help me a lot. Has anyone ever discovered the formula for Constitution? I would love to include it in my Calculator too but right now it looks like a very long and arduous task to figure that one out
  2. A little bit of help would be useful from any SOFTCORE SP or LAN characters, nothing wrong with multiplayer data except that I need the data with zero survival bonus. I am collecting a lot of data every day, some of it I am using to create formulae, some just to get data and some to verify what I already believe to be true. I have a few Seraphims so I have been working exclusively with them so far although it is obvious that a lot of formulae etc apply to all character types. Most importantly, before doing anything else back up your saved games because you are about to lose your survival bonus! 1 - strip your character naked, including relics and weapons. Make sure all buffs are OFF. 2 - write down all data you can find about your character, to give you an idea of what I mean see the partial list from my data collection spreadsheet below for the Seraphim (please include chance of finding better items). 3 - Teleport to anywhere, find some strong beasties and die. 4 - When you ressurect write down all of the data again. You will see the differences the survival bonus makes. 5- Send all of your data to me via the Forum Mesaging system or email to 28016andrew@gmail.com Better not to post it in the Forum I think 'cos I forsee too many very long postings but I would happily bring all the data I am sent and share it with anyone who wants it, of course. Example of the kind of data I would hope to receive: Character Type Character Level Hitpoints Hitpoint Regeneration Energy Shield Shield Regeneration Collateral Damage Resurrections Survival bonus Solved Quests Map Revealed Run Speed Attack Defence Attack Speed Total Damage Physical Damage Strength Attack Value Weapon Damage Stamina CA Regen Vitality Hitpoints Hitpoint Regeneration Dexterity Attack Value Defense Value Intelligence CA Damage Spell Intensity Willpower Spell Resistance Lastly list your Skills and their values so I can get back to the raw attribute data. HARDCORE characters and closednet Characters. For goodness sake don't commit suicide but the same data, even though it would include the Survival Bonus, would be equally as useful. I prefer a zero bonus only because it makes my job a bit easier. I am documenting exactly what the survival bonus gives as far as is possible but right now I really just need the data to get the calculator finished as quickly as possible and I cannot include such a bonus in my figures obviously. Thanks in anticipation. I don't have a problem doing this myself it is just that it takes such a long to do it everytime I level up. It's a longer story than this but I will spare you the longer post I just abandoned which explained all of the whys and wherefores Note that for the time being the calculator includes nothing about CAs. Maybe one day it will but I am sure you appreciate that the number of variables which affects each one is very high and my guesss is pretty much impossible to figure out ... unless you have any good ideas to help of course
  3. @Katran - A big yes to Baldur's Gate, I still have the CDs but they are in storage at my parents in the UK. Played 'em all many times plus al addons I could get. I was talking to Mirina recently and saying it is a shame there is not a general skill as in Baldur's Gate for lockpicking or something similar for inside houses and wouldn't it be nice if some outdoor random chests were locked. Just once I would like to be caught opening someones boxes in their home and have to fight my way out. Scrap Perception and give us lockpicking instead with better goodies in those locked chests blah blah blah. Sacred. No I never played it. No real reason I can think of. @gogblender - Yup a great breed. She has such a strong character almost seems human at times. I was talking of taking pictures of all of her different expressions and putting them on the wall 'cos they all look so funny but we decided the wall would not be big enough. The breed can have health problems due to the way they are put together though so we get lots of vets bills. Re Calculator. It's going well but I wil need to ask questions about some of the things I am finding out as I go so I would appreciate any feedback and help anyone can give. I will limit my questions to the thread I have already started for now.
  4. It's been a while but I used to pretty much live on IRC. I was wandering if anyone here meets up on IRC from time to time. If not, and you would like to give it a try I have lots of experience working as a Moderator so would be happy to open a channel somewhere. Let me know.
  5. Andrew. Born 1962. Plymouth, England 1962 - 2007, Madrid, Spain 2007 - ? Two grown-up kids, both living in Plymouth but one wants to move to Madrid. Married to Spanish born Mirina. Most of my working life I have worked with computers in one way or another. Been a programmer/analyst on relational databases, PC Engineer (make 'em, break 'em, fix 'em), Network Engineer (Novell and Citrix). I now teach English, travelling around Madrid to such places as SONY and Schering-Plough. Much more fun that working with the computers, I get to see lots of interesting people which is maybe the best bit. Luckily I don't need the money 'cos the pay is c**p. Immediately before moving to Spain I taught Air Traffic Control for the North Atlantic (Canadian side), kind of a pre-course thing. Arguably the best job I have ever had. Teaching was over the Internet using simulators. Although most of my Students were from Canada and the UK I also had many from places such as Mexico, China (Hong Kong), Australia, New Zealand, etc. The only downside was that I had to be awake at a time which suited my Students which was a pain in the a** with so many in Canada and some in those other far off places. Everything was done over the internet so at least I could work from home apart from occasional trips to Gander, Canada. First computer was a ZX81. When the Spectrum came out I discovered my first D&D type of game and was hooked. After getting my first 386SX I soon started working as an IRC Server Admin/Server Mod, gaming took a back-seat. I wrote a cool mIRC Script for the job which I still keep up-to-date, tried a WAR Script which was boring to do but helped me to keep my main script with lots of protection (know your enemy). IRC server closed and the ISP I was working for switched to JAVA so I left the job along with several others in protest. About the same time Diablo (first one) was released (still have a copy installed here). I have played many many games on the PC but always preferred Diablo, Diablo 2, Guildwars, etc. Sometimes took a break for a while but most of the time I was on Diablo or Diablo 2. We are both gaming junkies, we met on Secondlife a few years ago. We had been looking for something new to play so I bought Sacred 2 as a Christmas Present for my wife and a second copy for me. So far the game suits us perfectly. My style of play has been to mostly tank 'cos Mirina likes the soft characters and dies a lot. With Sacred 2 we are currently enjoying the Seraphim, my wife has stopped dieing all the damn time which gives me a chance to work with a character which is not a tank (at last). At first we were only on Closednet but we got a bit fed up with server problems a couple of weeks ago so playing on a LAN most of the time at the moment. We play maybe 3 hours every night but lots more at weekends. I only work part-time so I am filling the gaps by working on a Character Planner, well more of a skills calculator really. Mirina is always asking me lots of questions about which does what so I decided I could shut her up with a calculator/planner. I have lots of data so maybe I will put that all together in a PDF file along with any other stuff I think might be of help to her and the community. Oops, forgot Ena. Ena is an English Bulldog. Her main hobbies are sleeping and lying under my desk, the second of which has been known to cause problems while I play.
  6. Madrid, Spain, about 10 minutes walk SE of Plaza de Castilla. Good thing I signed up, it looks like I am the only one living in a civilised country I spent most of my life in the city of my birth, Plymouth England and moved here in 2007 to marry my Spanish girlfriend, Mirina. We play Sacred 2 together. You won't see Mirina posting here or anywhere else but I do often write on behalf of both of us so if I say something a bit stupid at times it will be her fault, not mine.
  7. The truth is my reasons for beginning this thing are purely selfish. I play some closednet but mostly LAN with my wife. She is one those people happy to ask questions but not to spend time reading Sacredwiki or the Official Forums. So, my thoughts were gather together anything I can find regarding skills so she can read it in one place instead of asking me. Now I have been bitten by the bug and want to understand some things better, if what I find out is of interest to anyone else that's great. Builds. That is one thing we like about Sacred 2. In our opinion so many variables make an exact build pretty much impossible. After many years playing Diablo 2 it is a relief to be escaping Fishymancers, Hammerdins, etc. We would like a Calculator though.
  8. I often have a fair bit of free time during the week so I decided yesterday to begin writing a Character Planner, primarily for the use of myself and my wife. In the abscence of any kind of Planner being available yet it occured to me it might be worth sharing what I have with you all. Still collecting data from wherever I can find it. I originally posted this download link at the Official Sacred 2 Forum but my thread was deleted ... I'm afraid I've had to remove your character planner thread, as we do not generally allow links to 3rd party tools to be posted on this forum ... it was/is just a spreadsheet so I hope it is OK to post this here, apologies in advance is I am breaking any rules here I couldn't find anything saying "no" in the Forum rules 10th Feb Excel Spreadsheet with Attributes up to character level 200 and data for Skills up to 200 points. Easy to navigate and something which will at least be of some help to you I hope. Please read the notes at he bottom of the first TAB. When the Planner is further along I will upload it in a different format so you won't need MS Office to read it. - Andrew CharacterPlanner.zip
