FIRST OF ALL .... I would like to kill the guy who said a job in financial reporting is great....
After 16 hours of working at some stupid financial reports of some stupid city hall, I feel
I mean talk about the daily grind....
and you know what the best part is ? the only toilet available was outside in a bunker without light, heat or any hygiene at all (and the temperature was only - 20 Celsius degrees)
the good thing was that I was helped by my (blonde) boss or else I will still be working now..........
-
gogo, did you say -32c that's very cold man !
I see you're from canada .... it's natural to have these temperatures in winter ?
last week we had -10 C and I could barely even breath that air

I`ve got something running close to what you`re building and will post my build a little later on this week. I think you`ll do well with your idea, you have chosen two focuses, those will be your aspects..just choose a lore of the one aspect you want to make your primary and you`ll do good as you`ll amp your damage and raise execution speed.
If you don`t choose staves skill you won`t get the fast hitting melle striking or ranged elemental damage of the staff...but you`ll still get the ranged damage of your Combat Art`s...something to consider as just having the ability to extend your staves melee to ranged via TWO skill choices is an important consideration for balancing.
To make that choice worthwhile, I would think that you would have to get Tactics and Staves to Mastery...this would ONLY give you the damage from hitting things with that staff...and no real help to any of your other magical spells.
You`re looking at working with a hybrid here... you`ll need to socket damage that works with both your stave, ranged melee AND your magical damage for your Area of Effect which you`ll need to stay alive.
Course, a great shopper helps.
Good luck
thanks for the fast reply gogo (btw I have chosen in fact 3 focuses)
as for the magical spells , I don't plan on using them. I want to use only my staff, and Combat Art's where I meet larger mobs.
I/m thinking about a choosing dragon magic as the main aspect and mentalism as a second aspect. (a combo with maelstrom and dragon strike looks good on paper )
I will look forward to your build

Ok, here's the build I wanna make : a pure ranged dragon mage with mage staffs as a primary weapon of choice.
Since ice & blood, the mage staffs are ranged weapons (if you choose the skill lore), so here's the guideline
SKILLS
CONCENTRATION - 75 points. The reason why concentration is at 75 is because I want all the 3 buffs active on me the all time plus lower regen times of course, although I don't like to kill with my Combat Art's but with my weapon.
DRAGON MAGIC FOCUS - at character level. the familiar will be my first buff
ELEMENTAL MAGIC FOCUS - at character level. the protector will be at level 75 my third and last buff
MENTALISM FOCUS - at character level. the runes of protection will my second buff.
MAGE STAFFS - at character level at all times if possible.
ARMOR LORE - 75 points to unlock damage mitigation modifiers at higher level.
CONSTITUTION - 75 points to unlock in combat health regeneration.
TACTICS LORE - to increase the damage dealt with my staff.
Last 2 skills : I have no ideea what to choose. I'm thinking about
- Toughness - higher resists and more damage mitigation or
- speed lore to increase the attack value or
- an aspect lore like elemental or mentalism. I just don't how mentalism lore affects the runes for example or how elemental lore affects the protector
So do you have any ideas ?

nice build you got there, although I like my dryads ranged...
I think you give too much credit to enhanced perception though, I think it' useless.
for me it would better to choose constitution. higher con means higher chance of survival (a higher survival bonus) and so a better chance to find magic items.
this way you can have , between levels 1-49, all attribute points in stamina
-
nice, what version do you have ?
-
wow, that was a very long reply with a lot of arguments
I agree with you on the combat discipline skill, there are no diminishing returns there.
in the end I can see why you have constructed this char, I guess everyone has their personal preferences when role playing
offtopic : in diablo 2 and titan quest (as in other action rpg's) I always liked playing mages.
in sacred 1 and 2 I just couldn't do it. I mean I can't cast spells as often as I like ? higher level spells means looonger regeneration times ? the better the armor the longer the regen time ? the better the buff the longer regen time ?
that was and still is the only thing I hate about sacred:(

thanks chatius for the useful links.
too bad they're in german..... but one thing I noticed is that you need to have voodoo focus on
it is possible to do it without that skill ?
I mean sinister predator gives you a chance to drop heads, no ?
(the thing is I have all set and gold items on me, and that white head just doesn't look good in my armor)

I think ipad is just a wast of money from my point of view......
as an e-book reader I think it does the job pretty well....... but as a pc replacement it's just crap
I just dont see it's utility.......and the lack of multitasking is just stupid (and no camera, no wifi and other normal features)
-
weapon lore is very important to a melee char, from my point of view......
if you're playing, let's say a high elf mage, it really doesn't matter what u have in your hand...... all that matters are your Combat Art's (to have a high level and low regeneration)
but if you want to get close and personal you need to survive (with your guide u can do that very well), but also deal damage.
the problem is some enemies will regen health and some will even fully heal themselves and if your dps isn't high enough you will have problems with some enemies
-
nice guide you got there with only one problem ......
spell resistance is useless ..................... you have grim resilience that boosts willpower which is the same like spell resistance
-
that would be pretty nice to have a wiki page like that....
To have in each character main page e.g. dryad a link to a page called class quest reward : item X With Atributes : Z

level 142 in niob in just 3 days :) how do you do it ?
how many hours do you play each day ?
-
the campaign doesn't matter.... choose whatever you like, light or shadow
as for deity to choose I like testa(it heals me and damages enemies around) but it doesn't really matter because in my opinion the divine gift and divine devotion skill are useless (there are better ways to heal and deal damage)
remove combat reflexes skill and choose constitution. you need all the hp you can get if you want to melee, and the mastery bonus is too good to pass (hp regen in combat)
about speed lore.... the attack bonus is always nice, but is pretty small and the increased run speed is just crap(you will always use the hellhound, which is one the fastest mounts in the game) I say drop it and choose
combat discipline which gives -regen on Combat Art's in a combo and more damage from Combat Art's
as for weapon choice, I like dual wielding swords.....(dual wield is not weak at all, btw)
-
-
I have a level 50 Shadow Warrior right now in gold and don't have any problems at all.....
your skill choices seem pretty weird though. there no synergies between dual wield and sword weapons,
and instead of combat reflexes you should have taken constitution
-
I tried that ker demon summon one time..... and I have to say it's the worst deity ever
my level 5 toon was running like hell when he saw that big demon turning hostile
-
I was about to start a ranged inquisitor build when.............. I saw this thread
but why ? I'm asking because I think that in time a ranged inquisitor build will be powerful enough
I was about to buid a ranged inquisitor with the Zealous Doppelganger, reverse polarity buffs (maybe soul reaver too)(I like the invisible clone thingy )
....and now you made me think twice about it
-
nice topic xs0u1x
I tried it today and it works, but you're wrong about the human mages after a while they too start to attack:( so you still have the use keyboard after a while
-
One of the coolest builds I have ever read I finished the game and silver and played half of the campaign with this dryad build....
I didn't continue simply because I was waaaay too easy mobs where death in a couple seconds, and bosses couldn't even touch me if they had melee atacks
still it was very fun to play with her
VERY VERY TIRED AFTER A 16 HOURS WORK DAY
