King Prawn - Smoke Some FECAL MATTER!
Chill out to this jam, or get up and dance.
All we saying is give weed a chance.

There's no formal application process, and only one person has ever become a mod there by asking. I'd also be the youngest mod there, and most of us were quite surprised when they made a guy a year older than me a mod. He's done well though. Adopted the sarcastic remarks that come with being a mod there fast enough too!
-
I'll take that raspberry rum too, and triple it!
Gogo, I'm not a mod over there, they always seem to find someone better They've not been taking anyone on for a while though, although I expect they'll be needing some extra mods around the release of Fallout 3. I doubt they'd go for me though. Even though I've got a 0% warn level, I tend to be a little liberal in my interpretation of the rules. And patience isn't one of my better skills, so I tend to lose my rag with people at times and become a little "insensitive". If someone's being a prat the mods let a couple of us explain it to them in no uncertain terms, and we let the mods deal with the formalities of warnings and such. I do get regular "while I agree with the point you're making..." PMs
Also, the forums I am a mod/admin on I tend to be the iron fist type that people don't really like. I warn people if they make Chuck Norris jokes

I need a drink. Beer, whisky, whatever, I'll take what's going.

Runrig - Alba
I'd post lyrics, but it's all in Gàidhlig.

Well I just finished hosting a game of Werewolf over at the Bethsoft forums. Aftermath seems to be bringing up the usual moaning from those who died, praise from those who survived, and a few rare instances of honest critique. Fourth game I've hosted, and my last for a while I'd expect. Far too much work for such a thankless task.
A bit early for booze, so it'll have to be a cup of tea for me.

Besides - hehe - all good acronyms are three letters anyway
So you'd say TLAs are better than D.a.r.k.?
Referring simply to TLA as Three Letter Acronyms, of course

I have the same "none nearby" problems as a lot of other people. There's only one place nearby that sells computer parts or builds them for you, and their service isn't exactly great, not to mention their prices around 20% more expensive than online. When I went in to talk about my new system I was literally told "look on our website". Now, for a person who's not exactly clued up on computer parts anymore (industry moves too fast for me to keep track of), their website didn't make a word of sense to me. Others (like Scan and Overclockers) have been far more user friendly. You're lucky to have such a good store nearby.

Udone, gratz on the purchase! The ram is splendid at four. And the card is almost like mine...but with a gig ram, instead of mine which has only 512...
Someone's ready to play!
gogo
Someone's getting ready to CAD more like!
I was looking for something to play earlier today, and surprised myself with how few games I actually have :|
-
I'm not too bothered about SLI/Crossfire just now really. Maybe in the next computer I get. Plus, the second card only really kicks in at high resolutions, and I've got a pretty small monitor.

So, after much pestering of the tech buffs over at the Bethsoft forums I've come up with a list of parts I need for a new functional computer.
CPU: Intel E8400
GPU: XFX 8800GT (1GB)
RAM: 4GB Corsair XMS2
HDD: 500GB Western Digital Caviar
Motherboard: Asus P5K Premium
Optical drive:Asus DVD RW
Case: Antec 900
PSU: 550W Corsair VX
Soundcard: Asus Xonar DX
Extra fan: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
All at a grand total of £707.71 + postage. A little more than I'd have liked, but it should be relatively futureproof.
-
They're the same two processors I've been looking at, and I'm going for the E8400 for exactly the same reason as you.
In terms of GPUs, I'm looking at the 1GB Nvidia 8800GT. CAD and all that.
Still trying to figure out the rest of the components.

Exam results are starting to trickle through now. Three passes out of three so far. I'm actually shocked I managed to pass an exam which I forgot basic trigonometry in.

The Clash - Spanish Bombs
I'm making my last.fm playlist, and it's so hard not to just add this whole album. 19 of the best songs ever written.
Spanish bombs, yo te quiero infinito. Yo te quiero, oh mi corazón.

I'm really not sure what happened there. He made his goodbye hit then left uni 9 before his exams last month. A couple of days later the account got banned for account stealing, which I don't really understand.
-
7 hours is the norm for me.

Aye, well like I said everyone else is going. Xual, Zener, Yawg, Sanctus, Slashes, Kahunajih, Karrak... There's been a TES forum rebirth in uni 36 though, so that's where my focus will be.
I'm more than halfway towards my target for my goodbye hit, although there is one guy intent on ruining the fun.
EDIT: That's it. If anyone's near the 2:376 area and wants a HOF I'll be happy to provide you with phalanx times. This guy has tried my patience a little too long with his pointless, profitless attacks.
-
Aye, I'm coming to the end of my stay in uni 9. All the people I started the game with have left. I'm just gearing up for my goodbye hit.
-
Don't worry, I went into VM for a couple of weeks over my exams and dropped ~150 ranks -_-
Infrastructure just now is:
Metal: 27, 25, 24, 24, 21, 25, 25, 24, 25
Crystal: 23, 23, 20, 21, 20, 21, 21, 21, 23
Deut: 18, 13, 18, 20, 17, 20, 20, 20, 20
Solar: 24, 25, 24, 24, 23, 23, 24, 23, 25
Nanite: 2, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 1
Going to finish churning out LFs for a moonshot then up the deut mines a bit. Hyperspace drive 6 finishes in the little hours of tomorrow morning so I'll probably get cracking on dessies soon too. Most of my farms are running dry again so I need bigger targets.

No love for me from the spambots either. Only spam I get on a regular basis is people trying to sell me viagra through my university email. I also had two email address not on my contact list message me on msn asking if I wanted to see their webcams I put it down to lolvirus and ignored it.

We too are starting to feel the pinch, but we always try to source food locally which keeps costs down. My dad also work at SCRI (Scottish Crop Research Institute), so we occasionally get free bumper punnets of fruit in summer. We have been considering clearing some ground in the garden for a vegetible patch, but we'd need to remove another couple of trees to get decent water and mineral levels in the ground. There really are an obscene amount of trees around us. Our neighbour also grows cooking apples, so we sometimes get to collect a few for free if they get a good amount. I'm not too sure what we'd actually grow in the vegetible patch though. We don't have the space for potatoes, nor the climate for rice. Previous attempts at carrots have failed due to a tendancy to grow multiple small roots rather than one big one. Cabbage is a possibility I guess.
We're also planning an extension to the house. My sister and her boyfriend are both architects so they're doing the plans on the cheap, but with property devaluing we're not sure if now is the best time to invest in bricks and mortar. Money could also be tighter if my mum has to do a second probationary year in teaching because she's been ill.
Sorry for the DarkMatters downtime... *sigh*

Wouldn't let me open any pages last night. Anything I clicked just asked if I wanted to download the php. Working now though, although I guess the fact that I'm posting this makes that a little obvious
