  1. afterwards we also think of the auras. turning them off/on at save places sometimes causes negative effects on the mates. this in combination that auras sometimes were not shown as active in UI...

repro should be difficult, because you cannot force this bug. for us it was the first time.

MP is a lot of fun! :) and like my MP-mate mentioned: " it is not the question THAT you die in HC, only WHEN!" :D

what we get some more often are crashes while porting (personal rift). bad luck if it is the host...

  2. pay attention:

yesterday we were "idling" at Devils Crossing, sorting the loot, when something happens, that causes massive damage to two of us.

seems like a DoT and the health bar went down in steps (around 20% of total health per step). one of us could save his char by using a health potion. I was deep in the menu of the smith and reckognized the situation at the moment you hear the heartbeat and the screen wents red. for me it was too late to react and my char died (shaman, level 30).

We cannot explain what happened there! :nono:

PvP was disabled and the session was full (max 4) and protected by password, so an infiltration by an "enemy" seemed to be impossible.

so be careful, you are not save in towns! this is extremely frustrating in HC, loosing a char in that way. we think it is a bug, but have got no idea what has happen.

has got anybody a similar experience?

  3. I think it's because they did such a good job with having the building of your character go on and on through each difficulty.

that's the reason why we don't care of leveling up a new char after HC-death at the moment. hoping that it is getting back to 35 this week, so we can go on at Homestead.

Beating Kilrian last week was an adventure...everybody got in two situations were death was near, but finally we got him down.

at the moment we are also doing a lot of "sight-seeing"! ;-) the changes of the map are awesome. now the map reminds a little bit to Sacred 2 with all the small "easter-eggs" everywhere and the new details.

  4. we've lost your next char in our group. if you are heading to Homestead, there is a way in the east, with a lot of aether on the ground. he runs into it and didn't find his way back...little bit stupid death! ;)

we decided to change "dfficulty" to veteran mode. with a four man group no problem, but more bosses and more loot!

  5. be aware of that your SC stash is not available in HC!

I am not sure how about the formula's, if there is also a difference between HC and SC...

self-found is no problem in GD, especially if you play in MP with 3-4 people. we are playing with instant loot and often if a blue item falls, everybody got one. so it is no problem to get accurate gear. also formulas are not the problem. at the moment our soldier (gardist) and arcanist (don't remember the name) have got a full set (we are still in normal difficulty level 35, only playing on veteran mode).

and still a lot of fun

  6. btw...Gamestar voted the game with 86%, which is imho fair. they compared it with TQ and with Sacred and of course with Diablo 2. at the end...if you love this three games, you "must" buy GD! ;)

the critics uopn the MP is okay. we also got laggs and game crashes in MP, especially since release, but haven't loose a char by that so far (which is important in HC). but with the last updates and the changes of the map, it was a big step to higher the athmosphere of the game.

  7. it is not necessary to choose a second mastery. as I know from a friend, he has got 6 or 7 chars in softcore at max level and get through the hole game only with the starting mastery...

the points up to level 50 or so are needed to max out the first mastery (not every skill, but the ones you like)

soldier (classic fighter), shadow blade and shaman are melee chars (shaman with pet).

arcanist (classic mage), occultist (druid?) and that shooting char are ranged

my favourites are shaman and the "shooter" (with dual pistols by item and trenchcoat! :D )

to get an idea of every char, play him through act one and see how it fits to your playstyle...

  8. There have been some one-shot deaths from bosses...basically some type of multiple projectile Area of Effect that apparently is cast directly on the player (as he is rushing towards the boss) and not on the ground. Thus you are hit with EVERY projectile, and suffer massive amounts of damage. Most people have instantly died. Dev's are aware of issue.

Not sure if that might be what happened to you guys, since you said you both died at same exact time. haven't heard it occurring with Cronley before though.

it wasn't Cronley! ;) it was in the flooded passage where you sometimes meet "twin bosses", kind of that "dogs" in green color (sorry, I am playing the german translation). afaik this was fixed by build 28 or 29...

for me there is a special boss in that ghost cave at the beginning of act II, where now three chars (two shamans and one arcanist) of me has died... :(

HC = no risk no fun! ;)

  9. We start playing HC with build 28 and lost two chars early in a cave in act I, which should be a bug, because they died instantly at the same time...therefor we all got twins of our main char at the same level. it is our "homework" every week to keep them on the same level, so we won't loose time if somebody dies (and in HC it is not the question "if" you die, the question is "when" :D )

last session we defeated Cronley. was a hard fight, even with four fighters. our arcanist gave us some aether defence by a buff, which helps a lot.

we will see what will happen this week! ;)
