afair the runs to get new chars to niob with a leading-lvl200-char took from 1h (silver - PC could start direct in silver) to 1,5h (platin), just doing the main quest. clearing map and having all portals are basic requirements.
just as a hint, how much time you need or has to be beaten!

For better items, drop chance for unique and set pieces goes up with each quest you solve.
also the chance for better items as loot for the quest is rising with every quest. but the counter will be reset by leaving the game, so with every start it will be at 0.
the best chance for "epic loot" are by killing the four end bosses. also the dragons have got a good loot range. at the end the "epic hammer of doom" could also drop from a rat!

our "old man group" will open our 2016 season tomorrow evening with our first hardcore session this year. we have to clear some regions before defeating Cronley.
looking through devotion, there are a lot of powerful active skills. my shaman using shepherd's call and it is pretty good. but the "small" passiv buffs are sometimes much more effective or powerful. getting 10% total damage or life (!) is something no char should deny!
looking back and thinking about the price I payed (€7,50) in a sale, this game is one of the best (play time devided with price) I have got. now enjoying the content and looking forward to addons, which I will buy at full price, just to support the team. bringing back hardcore feeling to me, is worth it!

the bronze slots means no bonus on the item.
silver and gold gives you a bonus of 5%/10% (or was it 10%/20% ?). but be aware of a little bit of math: if you have a ring with 2-4 damage and put it in a gold slot, it will be 2.2-4.4 damage but still show 2-4. the game itself will calculate with the correct figures...

finished Act I without any further death!
it is interesting that playing hardcore now totally changes playstyle. not skilling damage anymore like in softcore, but defense and life and regenaration. remembering the good old days of Diablo and Sacred!

our "Old Man Group" has totally changed from TQ to Grim Dawn. We are playing today our forth day in MP-Hardcore!
it is a lot of fun, but we have to complain two double deaths so far! both deaths we are not able to explain!the first one was in the flooded passage against the two dog bosses which could appear there. I pulled one of them away (ranged weapon), but the other one killed two of us like a one hit. We don't know why (posion cloud, damage reflection,...)
the second was in the small posion dungeon beneath the garbage dump near Burrwitch with also these dogs/rats and the one boss. we know about the poision and where we can stand and fight and where we have to move fast. but we got high damage and again two of us were dead, this time like two- or three hit, but too fast to react with healing potion or so.
so be careful my friends...sometimes death is coming immediately!
nevertheless we are gonoing on. everybody is levelling up a second identical char to follow up.

I don't have got any proof...it is only my experience with the game versions Steam vs. GoG!
GoG will not publish a version with any DRM, so Securom should be "terminated" in their version.
Steam does not care about this point and still sells the last "official" version of the game, which is still including Securom.
It would be interesting if the owner of Steam and DVD-Version could run the game now, because MS stopped every support on safedisc and Securom. I should test it at home...

the jungle was sometimes a little bit harder and a longer fight but the champion turtles at dryad island were much more frightening!

I must say that I really appreciate your screenshots. it is like running through Ancaria with a camera instead a sword or staff.
I have played hundred of hours, but I never "relax" that way...it was always "where is the next monster to kill!"

Is it possible to stop using flash player in this forum?
I know that you earn money with the advertisements, but for me it causes huge amounts of RAMusing. the counter rises fast to 500-600MB and often crashes, so I can not use the forum as I want to.

I would say that Gog is without and Steam probably with Securom. But the game itself should be the same.

sidequests in Sacred 2 sometimes tell nice stories!
but beside that:
- you get XP
- the more doing sidequest, the better the chance of set items as reward
- you explore the map => better MF
- more loot (and what is better in an ARPG than loot?...let me think a second...ah yes...moooore loot!
