  1. Hey Dobs, why don't you put points into PR instead for casters? 'Cause PR gives health regen as well as health (same amount of health per stat point as strength).

Hey mate, I was under the impression that strength gave more HP than phys regen, not sure where I got that from though

If they give the same boost to HP then yes PR would be a much better choice, thnx mate

Yup, they both give +4 health per point.

    Thnx for clearing that up:)

So what do people think about this?

For a spellcaster s it better to have some extra spell damage and regen OR have more HP and health regeneration?

I've played quite a few pure spellcasters of differnet types to niob and found that there spells do more than enough damage that the points I invested into MR could have been put into PR. If I get the time I'll try a PR battlemage and see how he gets on:)

  3. I was talking with Knuckles tonight about this intersting find he made. I never did see a huge benefit of investing all Att points on MR in a magic toon as it never really seemed to do very much but without his research I couldn't be sure:). The figure shown in the toons stats is not a true reflection as it shows all the bonuses from items that have no effect on spell damage. I now put all attribute points into strength when playing pure magic toons :P It may sound crazy but pure magic toons will get the most damage boost form magic lore and all there regen from MED and there specific regen magic. At higher level's the damage/regen boost from points investsed into MR would be very small. Most pure magic toons are very weak and would be better off with more hit points, this is why I started to invest all att points into strength as it gives a good HP boost when used with constitution. I've not tested it past gold but wondered what you guys thought of this? Could strength be the BM's new best friend ;)

  4. Hi all

I posted this over at the DA forum but thought I'd share it here to.

If your an ATI user who has found that since you bought a shiny new widescreen monitor your toons all look short and fat, then a fix is now available by downloading the latest drivers.

Check this thread over at DA widescreen fix

After playing sacred for ages being streched, it's really cool to see it as it should be seen :)

    Stubbie should be pleased :o

  5. I'm sure you will be a great member of Dark just as you have been of DA mate :cha (18):

I've only played in sacred and GW a few times with you but you are one of those people that it's always a pleasure to bump into.

Look after him, he is definatley one of the good guys :cha (18):

  6. Thats the thing I really miss from closed:(

I did ask the question why on the SIF before as to why the main quest was removed and I think someone said it was to do with there being exploits that could be used in closed as part of the main quest. Nobody could remember exactly what they were though. It's a shame that they could not be fixed and the quest brought back with a later patch but now it seems it will never happen.

  7. My question is still this: Can anything drop from Orc Chieftain? Skeleton Mage? Mounted Shaddar Rim?

Ages ago someone said that, for instance, Meg-Anid's Blizzard items dropped more on snow-covered ground than elsewhere. Is this true for Greedy Dwarves? Or is this "it happened to me so it must be true!" (too small a sample size) location variation?

I've always wondered the same frosty. Even though the drops are the best in those areas, it did seem to be the same group of drops over and over with the occasional different one thrown in.

Suddenly changing area would seem to yeild different drops or...... could this just be my imagination :yay:

err sorry for the double post. I tried to edit the first post but for some reason it just posted the same message again :)

  9. Hehe, nice drops there Schot :)

The one thing I noticed about the greedy dwarf is that in some place he gets amazing drops and in others he gets almost nothing. VOT was great for levelling but the drops never seemed good.

I have an early niob greedy dwarf with max greed and realativley high MF. After lots of testing and exlploring to find the best areas, he still seemed to get the best/most drops in the same 3 places. These were the dry river run to the east of Khorad with the skelly-mage mobs, the shaddars and DE mobs in Zhurag and to a lesser extent the mobs in purgatory. Out of the 3 though, it would have to be the dry river run for the best drops closley followed by Zhurag.

Anyone else find some others that give lots of drops?

  10. I was just talking about Mythos with Voided and Masteff last night and sent them an invite to try it out.

I have a few invites left if anyone wants to try it out, send me a PM with your email and I'll give you an invite.

Must admit to not playing it for a while as it had bad lag issues the last time I tried.

  11. Demo/game is terrible just plain terrible.

Crappy animation, gfx and sound wont buy it.

It does feel a bit old-school in the graphics and physics department but I have to disagree about it being terrible. I would take pure gameplay over fancy graphics anyday, Sacred still rocks with very dated graphics.

It won't be to everyones taste but it's definately worth a try to see if it floats your boat.

The specs are not that high gogo but it does seem to have memory issues, even with 2 gigs of corsiar ram it gave up and CTD'd once until I turned a setting down.

If your a fan of FPS, love collecting rare items and like taking on big bosses then this is worth a try

  12. Hey gogo and Claire :drinks:

Thnx for the welcome. It's great to see you back on the servers. It's good to meet Schot for the first time to :drinks:

I hope the bug gets you bad gogo and you come back for good, schot seemed to be loving it :3lmao:

@Claire, I have 3 bits of bronze ammaris and a kite shield you can have which will help lots to get past the hard early bits for the BM.

P.S. Dark Sun is a great and very friendly player as you found Claire.
