I think it will take some more decades till I trust into a robot dog to do the same for my then grandgrandchilds.

In my opinion robot animals (which I know) are for the age group between mid-teen till family with yet no kids.

We have two ecosphere and 3 baiosphere for having animals and plants with no need to care for them, Closed systems, selfsupporting.

I got you, friend ♥ Been growing this one for quite a while. Sealed and self-contained.

I managed to connect both to a small Raspberry Pi server, too, since the parent company have ghosted their servers. That means we now have voice connectivity via GPT-4, facial recognition etc😊

I was thinking about this concept of *pets* for a while.. how many surprises or built in *reactions* would a construct have to have for us to be satisfied? I mean...I just pulled up Pleo, James' pet he first mentionned... its actually quite impressive how many small surprises it keeps coming up with ... the tech at the time must have been pushing ... I mean... Pleo is more than 17 years old!
    :dance2:

    gogo

Oh, Pleo was really pushing the tech of the time. They made a toy way ahead of the curve, but there just wasn't a market for it, sadly. Vector is basically a robot hamster, especially in the sense that he's autonomous and self charging, so he never really needs to be off. And, yeah, I make and paint tons of models. Airfix, Atlantis, Warhammer, you name it! 😁

James, you will need a special mount to accomplish this feat. When you dismount after getting snug against the map border you should be able to Shadow Step off-map. Dismount toward (not away) from the map boundary. Sometimes it might take a few tries to dismount close enough to the edge.

    Happy map-jumping!:hooyaah:

Thank you! I had no idea you could do that on console. ♥

So, after finding myself in the ocean (image included), I also stumbled across this bridge in the jungle that you can jump off of and head downstream.

I'm sure I'm not the first one, but wanted to post it for anyone else still playing on console.

Hey. Awesome stuff! May I ask, how exactly did you jump off this bridge, as I've tried using assailing somersault from just about every angle and place near and on the bridge, and I can't get off it to save the life of me. 🤔

When one considers the total immersion one may experience while playing Sacred 2 and the excruciatingly detailed world, so carefully crafted as to enthrall its audience, there is little wonder why I love it. It is a synergy of sights, sounds, experiences, emoting interactions, with an environment so rich and captivating. It compels one to remain much longer than anticipated and lures one back sooner than intended.

Check out the thread below and participate, if you will. Experience some visual examples which surely capture ones imagination and even ones heart.:hooyaah:

I couldn't agree more. Truly sage words, friend. It's definitely the only RPG I've got the most playthroughs out of over the years, and many more to go hopefully. It baffles me how there's always something new, matter how hard you thought you'd previously scoured the world.

Thank you for the link. I, too, am a collector of screenshots so I'll be stopping by there soon! ❤

  7. Hey!

It's quite the question, isn't it?

Sure, there are hundreds upon hundreds of action RPGs, and a few are even a little bit good, but why Sacred 2? What is it that keeps us coming back after all these years?

For me, it's a mixture of two things. First, you've got the world. In a way it's aesthetically similar to The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (one of my all-time favs). The rolling, expansive landscapes, the lush forests, and the cute, rushing rivers. Second, you've got the strange, eccentric charm that permeates all the way through from the game's very core. If anything, it's up there with titles produced by Hideo Kojima. Cheesy, odd, bizzare even, but there's just so much cheese mixed in tightly amongst the core mechanics that you can't help but fall in love with the game's entire character.

So, what is it about Sacred 2 for you?

This is a tricky question Bing...I know theres quests that drop sets, points, all lovely manner of treasure... so I guess we could say that  quest completion in game is important because you get to items faster if you want to play that way.

However, regarding does whether the total number of quests completed have an effect on drops, frequency or loot quality...  well..

Its Easter Sunday and were off to a large chocolate eating feast (ugh family :P)  so hopefully someone with more insights into the math of this will have what you need.

    and...happeeeeeeeeeeee Eeeeeeeeeeeeeestah!

    :d_dance:

    Thanks, Gogo!

I appreciate the info. I've read that there's apparently a hidden counter or stat of some kind that increases drop rates in an area depending on how many quests have been completed. But I can't find it again, so I'm wondering if I imagined it 😂

Enjoy the Easter feast with the family! 🐰

Love the methodology , exactness and ...science! this insight is the kind of thing the Wiki needs! :dance2: Have you had a look at the Sacred 2 wiki page? Is there a place upon it where you thinkin your rating of the different summons could be of use to future players? Why and *by how much* are big drivers for players.  I can register you as a wiki contributor and you can write info in there, ooooooor... I can still register you as a wiki member and you yourself can add a lnk in the wiki to your guide here so that people reading the wiki and wanting more info can follow the web of intelligent playing and conquering to your prose here!!

    :hugs:

That sounds great, man. I'd be happy to contribute! I'm actually working on a guide like this for all major summons, so once that's done, I'll incorporate that into the wiki if you'd like?

I remember using the visibility  range gear in the old days before modding and we were all in closed servers to hunt and track down mobs with other players.  Rooooodeeeeooooo

    Thanks, Gogo!

Yeah, it's more of a struggle on Xbox than on PC lol, but I'll get there once I've got some better gear hopefully. The plus side is, the world is legitimately just fun to explore. It feels super hand crafted.

Make sure you are in Niobium and spam farm merchants for Visibility Range gear. You don't need bargaining for that, VR can spawn on blue rings.

Then find gear with the most sockets (mostly set/unique items) and jam the jewelry in. Also keep a lookout for rare gear that has 2 slots and an innate VR bonus.

Once you have your exploration set ready, go to a low difficulty (so you can ignore enemies) and basically just run through the entire game, always hugging the edges, both the surface and the dungeons.

Level 2 dungeons are especially valuable for map explored (dungeons within dungeons). It's an entirely separate 3rd map layer and entering those with a couple hundred +VR% can net you 0.5-1% of map revealed just for entering.

Thank you for the awesome advice!

I'm currently finishing up my platinum playthrough then once I've got that better gear, I'll re-run through the entire underground! ☺

  13. Ever since I picked Sacred 2 up on release, I've always been tempted by the thought of fully filling in the map. Still, as you already know, actually revealing the entire map is quite the bloody complicated task. Even more so if you're going at it without the use of glitches and exploits (because I couldn't get them to work 😭).

Many years later and after surging the previous two apocalypses, I decided to build my own Dyrad, a first for me. Thus, I thought I'd share my map revealing journey with you!

Basically, I've kitted myself out with a few cheap rings that boost my reveal range (I have no shoppers and aventure like the pleb I am). And since I'll be traversing the entire of Ancaria, both overground and underground, I'll be taking screenshots and video captures of things I find interesting along the way.

Buckle up and let's begin. Please keep in mind that this thread is a work in progress.

The first 30% was by far the easiest to reveal. On my initial Silver run I did as many quests as I could without feeling overwhelmed. Which in Sacred 2 is harder than a very bored, very instagram-addicted Metapod. Still, 30% passed by with ease, and I found some intriguing stuff along the way.

The force is strong with this X-Wing:

    4f8b5784-ca24-4b82-ab05-a10eda746e5c.thumb.png.1a51a4cb04bd8e0ece642f0eac4ae84b.png

If you look closely at this submarine, you'll see the remnants of exactly two billionaires:

    e03a47ae-ec77-4d7e-b3bb-dbeb8ca92d49.thumb.png.be79acbbeefd8c616b99d1c4811c05be.png

50%. Now that one was easier to reach than expected, too! I basically circled overground areas while killing the odd group of mobs, and, well, that was about it.

    Ancaria's most wanted strikes again:

    01df67db-4939-4609-bf70-359d5b85fd1f.thumb.png.ce6d8eadd915dbb3125f967055422fd8.png

Roses are red, the moon is too far, but I present to you, my friend, a brain in a jar:

Oh, you want to finish your Gold playthrough? Standing under this here decking is the best I can do:

    image.thumb.jpg.386d31abfccf6333c2482b033b7e5f9d.jpg

70%, or as I like to call it, "Oh no." After circling and subsequently filling in most of the overground map, I'd managed to knock my reveal bonus up to just over 200%. But, what's this? There's barely anything left to find? Yes, that's right, because the rest is hidden away underground apparently.

Desert circles (like crop circles but crap):

86%. It's quite the specific number, isn't it? Well, that's because I've uncovered just about all I can think of. Underground, overground, wombelling free, there's really ain't much else for ya boi here to see. Still, I'm currently trying to get my hands on boosting my reveal rate up to the 400% range if possible.

    UPDATE!

Well, after a week of making my way through Platinum and with the help of idbeholdME, I've nabbed myself some high-reveal gear. That's right, 90%, baby! The end is very nigh.

You can keep your scorpion summons. I have sheep...

Then, well, things started to dry up, but with Forens on my side, I managed to snag a very nice Helmet of Time from the scorpion boss on Niob, which gave my large visibility range an even bigger buff. 330%, now that's a lotta' eyes! 👀

Thanks, man. I wound up checking again this morning and now he's above ground!

  15. Hey!

I'm currently finishing up my gold playthrough with my pet Dyrad. Unfortunately, however, one of the main quest NPCs decided to make like a mermaid and spawn in the ocean.

    I'm here specifically:

    16699b22-5529-4736-84d6-00fe1f741aa9.thumb.png.1ab6c66b973b37283cb7b4e99b93cb54.png

The NPC was meant to spawn atop this wooden deck, like a sensible piece of clickable exposition should, but as you can see,

    He had other ideas.

I can see him standing under there, drowning, chilling, contemplating the finer things, but I just cannot seem to reach him:

    image.thumb.jpg.83407b9f21df8bc4fc9ab35f4529d369.jpg

I've tried restarting the game, teleporting away and just about anything else, but nothing has worked. Is anyone aware of a fix for this? I really hope my Dryad isn't ruined because this is the first time I've ever crafted my own build.

    - Jay

    • Haha 1
  16. Over the past few weeks, I've been meticulously crafting a new Dryad build and pushing the limits of summoning AI, which, to put it mildly, hasn't been the smoothest ride. So, in an effort to enhance our collective gameplay, I dove deep into the mechanics of two summons deemed most potent and reliable, hoping to uncover which one truly stands the test of time.

The Objective: My journey was primarily fueled by the desire to circumvent a common nuisance - our summoned allies diving headfirst into a state of utter confusion, either halting their assault mid-battle or completely withdrawing from the fray.

Methodology: Armed with a stopwatch app, I embarked on a series of tests. The moment our summoned creature leaped into action marked the start, pausing only when it decided to take an unscheduled break or retreat. Imagine orchestrating this setup... yeah, it was as cumbersome as it sounds.

I conducted 100 trials - 50 amidst the sprawling expanse of the outdoors and another 50 within the confining walls of dungeons. Each session spanned 15 minutes, a testament to my need for a good freaking summon (or insanity, perhaps).

Before diving deeper, it's crucial to note that my findings pertain exclusively to the Xbox version of Sacred 2.

    Two Star Scorpion Head Analysis:

This summon is a DPS beast. Its unparalleled attack speed, combined with devastating damage at higher levels, is something to behold.

    - Outdoor Performance: On average, our scorpion friend took a breather every 14.4 seconds, with each pause lingering for about 5.3 seconds. Attempts at re-summoning yielded a mixed bag of outcomes.

    - Dungeon Performance: Here, the scorpion's breaks occurred roughly every 11.4 seconds, extending to 7.1 seconds on average.

Observations: The cramped confines of dungeons seem to exacerbate the scorpion's tendency to halt its assault. Despite this, it faces challenges across all environments, unaffected by level, gear, or strategic build considerations.

    Two Star Dragon Head Analysis:

Though it may lag slightly behind the scorpion in sheer power, the dragon compensates with agility, a cute face, and the ability to keep pace without constant teleportation - a significant factor since teleporting often results in a brief, but critical, pause in action.

    - Outdoor Performance: Our dragon ally disengaged every 19.1 seconds on average, with pauses lasting about 3.4 seconds.

    - Dungeon Performance: In dungeons, the average time between engagements dropped to 15.4 seconds, with each pause extending to approximately 5.2 seconds.

Observations: Compared to the scorpion, the dragon maintains a more consistent presence in battle. It's noteworthy, though, that re-summoning either creature only rectified behavioral quirks half of the time.

A peculiar find was that both summons tended to remain more engaged when I stood still (yet continued attacking), though the difference was marginal.

In conclusion, for those venturing forth with a Dryad build on console, the dragon emerges as a slightly more reliable companion, especially for players seeking to avoid frequent summoning hiccups. However, if you're armed with patience and a desire for unmatched DPS, the scorpion remains a formidable ally.

    Happy summoning,

    - Jay

Unfortunately, I never developed a dryad to a high level with which I was well pleased. However, I have developed and perfected a remarkable High Elf Build that works well with even "yellow" (rare) armor purchased from Merchants and Blacksmiths and augmented by rare jewelry also purchased from Merchants (and Rune-masters).:Laie_34:

Keep up the great work, Jimmy!

    :resp:

    Good to hear!

This particular summon bug is making me reconsider a summon build to be fair.
