  1. Oh I just hate it when folks offering less than a ship load of resources, I have whole screen of sellers like those. :)

Anyway, I found it very difficult to prepare for palace 4, my populations keep capping on me and I end up investing on town hall, tavern, and museum. Even then, there are still long periods of capped population.

So I'm curious about everyone's population, am I doing something wrong?

    1st: 1352

    2nd: 1400

    3rd: 1337

    4th: 1142

Its interesting how my second colony end up ahead eh? I think the reason is marble, marble island is really good on the growth when it has enough wine. Shipping marbles must have slowed down my main's growth.

same here....my towns have been stagnant for some time....mostly have to produce lots of wine to keep citizens happy..

  2. Ok, so you all know about my interview last week (it feels like it happened eons ago...) well...I went to the interview, not very prepared and quite frankly I have not performed extraordinarily like in most interview I went before. But I am okay with that. if I do not get the job....at least I have accomplished something during the day I went to Montreal (namely, seeing some friends and eating like a pig with good food..YUM! delicious crispy chicken from at st-hubert...whereas At the residence, I feed myself with cookies...or oatmeal :yay: )

Anyways, it has been a very busy week (right now I am taking a little break from typing my dissertation about contempt of court...). I had an exam 2 days after the interview. Which was quite hectic for the studies since maybe I have mentioned it in previous posts that I have many precedents and jurisprudence to read. I found that excessive considering this is only my second semester at the faculty. However, it was a 2 hour exam happened on Saturday. I can't believe the professor had asked so many questions. Its definitely more likely a 3-hour exam!! I was not able to finish it.

Then On Monday (after staying up alllll night and day to study for the monday exam) Man, the questions seemed tooo simple. Too good to be true!!

Tuesday- I was late 15 minute late for the exam :((( but I finished 15 minute early. I hope I get a good grade for this one. This one too seemed too easy:) I think it is a conspiracy from the professors to make it seem easy when they actually put a ton of traps in the question. I am clueless.

Wednesday- The worst day of the week so far....I was 45 minute late to my 2 hour exam!! Omg, I should have never taken my afternoon nap (that lasted 3 hours...I was drooling, I heard the alarm, snoozed it, continue sleeping and suddenly ding!!) I rushed to the exam half-dressed, running in the cold without proper winter protection (it was minus something) by thetime I got there, I was exhausted, Icouldn't feel my hands, and I couldn'T even properly catch my breath then I rushed writing the exam without even thinking. I did not carefully think during the exam!! :((((((((((( I just felt like moping.....alone :D and commit suic*de...(joke) but really..I am really  piffed about that day

Thurs....This time I m on time...and classmates were actually betting some money on me to see whether I would show up late again (lol...I wish I could make some money off of this too...) Anyways the exam seemed complicatedly and intracate (intricate?) anyways...I took exactly 2 hours to finish the exam. I guess I should thank my lucky charm that my momma sent me by Mail :wub:

After the exam, I went to socialize with my friends, and caught a cold from them...:( right now I am really sick and tired and gotta finish my dissertation for tomorow...I can't even go partying during the weekend  meaning no :)

Buf after ALL this, I am still zen...it just seem unusual considering that I should be piffed...or upset....or happy. but really I feel nothing. as if when someone talks to me, and I have no real reaction... :) as if I have already experienced all...as if it doesnt matter to me...I really have no clue. But I gotta finish my dissert. see u!

  3. yeah I have seen it....but it is not as gross as the Japanese movie I have seen (forgot the name) where a group of people was chasing after an enemy, and then one chickens out after seeing his comrade *beep* the enemy with a shotgun. So the dude who chickens decide to run for his life. Feeling a betrayal the comrade decides to run after him and *beep* him with a samurai sword. Finally they have decided to cut his scalp off and a girl from the gang plays with the brain.......they are more gory details...which I think would be censured here...

  4. depends on the type of pen I use - and for what I am writing for. also the quality of the paper that tells you how nicely you should write.

it varies from "no one can read it but me" to "wow you have nice handwriting for a guy" to "are you sure you wrote this?" :wow: (notice because of the french republic system, they normalized all students in the world on penmanship, in quebec there is no difference)

  5. Get your facts straight gogo...lol :)

Just a friendly note, your logic is kinda flawed :) in regards to the timeline

Baking powder was invented in late 19th century by the British when they found out how chemical components work and bla bla bla and it partly consists of corn starch (which is moslty used in many chinese restos, well the ones I used to work in anyways, and corn starch is used by family...so I guess it is a common knowledge)

Therefore. ancient chinese secret ? no it is not. since it is a common chinese knowledge

taste and consistency with baking powder ? 50/50

    corn starch !! Definitely

  6. Ok, because the job is as a guide, they will be expecting you to know exactly what you are talking about, so I would study up on history of the building, what is the goings on in parliament etc. They have given you links to the website to learn the material that they expect you to know.

Try to think of the old school exursions and the kids that will be asking questions, or the tourists that will want to know how the cogs and wheels of parliament turn, practice on family and friends to see what works best.

You are going for a job that is more or less a Tour guide, so knowledge in the field is a necessity and those that have obviously got the personality to present themselves and incorporate that knowledge will be tops.

thanks funki :P I can't talk about the parliament anything but the parliament :D(( lol

Often on a tour, the guide will stop and give a small story about some historic item/statue/painting. I'd do something along this line.

For example: I might find a picture of a statue of a famous/important Canadian and give small speech about it (take the picture w/ you as a visual aide). "And now I'd like to call your attention to the statue of Blah Blah. Blah was the first Canadian to reach the rank of General in the Royal Army... What many people don't know about General Blah Blah is that he enjoyed fishing and often spent the summer with his family at Hudson Bay..... The statue itself was built in 1923 by the unknown sculpter Tweedle Dee. It is constructed entirely of bronze and weighs over 1200 pounds. Now if you'll follow me down the stairs, we'll see some historic paintings, please watch your step."

wow...I am amazed. mmm I wonder how I can find the dirt under the rag lol...merci :)

  7. INTERVIEW INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES

    2008 PARLIAMENTARY GUIDE PROGRAM

    WRITTEN KNOWLEDGE EXAM

The first part of the interview will consist of a written knowledge exam (approximately one half hour in length.) Please read the information on our website by following the links below:

    The Parliament Buildings

    http://www.parl.gc.ca/publications/ParlBlgs-e.htm

    How Canadians Govern Themselves:

    http://www.parl.gc.ca/information/library/...sey/index-e.asp

On the Job with Member of Parliament:

    http://www.parl.gc.ca/information/about/in...job/index-e.htm

    GROUP INTERVIEW

Following the written exam, you will participate in a group interview. Typically, five or six candidates are interviewed at the same time. The group interview format creates an interactive environment that is very appropriate for evaluating personal suitability for the position of Parliamentary Guide.

    PREPARATION

Parliamentary Guides are constantly called on to make complex information meaningful and interesting to very different groups of people. Guides know that in giving the same presentation in the same way all the time they will lose the attention of most of their visitors. Therefore, they look for ways to adapt their presentation to the particular needs and interests of each group. This requires careful preparation, confidence in one’s material, acute perception, quick thinking, and lots of imagination. No small feat!

During your interview you will be asked to make an oral presentation in front of the other candidates and the evaluators on any subject other than Parliament. The presentation should last no longer than three minutes and can be delivered in the official language of your choice. You will probably want to prepare your presentation in advance as you will not be permitted the use of notes or cue cards at the interview.

This is all the information we can give you regarding your presentation until the time of your interview. Good luck!

    that!!

  8. my space is definitely sketchy....I cannot remember on the news but there was some woman who created a fake profile impersonating an older male to seduce her daughter's 14yr old classmate to find out how the latter feels about her daughter, leading ultimately to the classmate's suicide in the closet.

P.S. Ads is the only way to keep money flowing in :P

Wikisearch has been launched recently I am sure they would need lots of ads to keep it going and to compete with google in um....10 years ? :)

  9. Hey guys!!

I am soooo busy lately mostly with school work (+ the stuff I have to hand in tomorow). The reading scares me most. I have to read about 200-500 pages/week give or take. I guess law school kinda trains you to read fast... + I have been attending several conferences mostly at the univ but also in qc city.

I do not have much time to do anything else. The only time is when I go out with friends and just enjoy the company. So please forgive me if I do not come here often to read or to "post" :yay:
