  1. Vieled shadow warrior with guidon modded for healing is another way for the same goal, and may work almost as well as seraphim too, as the attack/defense it would grant would also be incredible.

The problem we found with the guidon is that human players know to run away from it. This also goes for any other stationary CAs.

I'm pretty sure I still have my LL SW, but I think he might have gone over level 20. Perhaps I could run him up a bit higher and use him to boost others.

  2. Well, if I'm boss killing, like I am with my dryad at the moment Ive settle on killing guardians, gar collossus, octogolamus, carnach, givrym dragon, grunwald dragon.

For plain old grinding, depending on the toon I like the swamps, turtle island (capped of by killng the poison lord), blood forest - either the first few parts of the quest or running arounf in the last few areas for max experience.

I ran the givrym dragon about 30 times after you left last night and all I got was 2 uniques and a couple of sets. You were right to go to bed :)

For bosses, I have recently been running; Boar, Poison Lord, Holos, Grunwald Dragon, Girvym Dragon, Garganthropod, Guardians and finally the forest up to Mishirla.

For mobs, I agree with DB/Loco; swamp, jungle, dryad/turtles, forest are the best bang for your buck :)

  3. Great job on the write-up Guru!

I wonder if it would still be viable without the level 200 items. or rather is there an alternative since PC can't socket them?

I would suggest that without all the socketables, he would be reasonably strong but a little lacking in defense. Perhaps dropping Sword Weapons for CR or Toughness would help. That said, I don't play PvP, so I don't know for sure.

Thanks for the build Guru, nice to have some PvP guides :)

  4. Combat Discipline diminishes too. The jumps between 155 and 200 (every 15) add 146, 127, 113 and 99. At level 155, CD gives a 250% damage boost while the Lore is 332.5%. It's also only non weapon based Combat Arts too.

That said, it does allow for bigger combos and improves regens. Mind you, this is all assuming Eth has CD.

  5. Well, as per the tables in the wiki you're getting the following additions every 15 levels..

Lore: +15% damage, +.8% crit, +3% cast speed

    Tactics: +15% damage, +.8% crit

    AM: +12% damage, +1% -immunities

This is a bit of a rough estimate, as they all diminish as you get higher. As you can see, tactics/lore are the same, except lore gives cast speed as well. AM is giving you the negative immunities, but you're also losing damage. AM's damage increase is effectively half that of the lore (188% vs 377% at level 200). Being that AM is only going to effect non weapon based Combat Arts, you're not going to be increasing the output of Spectral Hand.

As such, I'd suggest the lore.

  6. Final result from my ISP is..

'Please find that I've rechecked with our Network Engineers and also performed several further tests, but we are unable to find out any issue within the Network. We can connect to your game server from our LNS router and also we can connect to your router from our LNS router without any problem. Therefore unfortunately nothing can be done from our side to fix this issue'

I am now attempting to contact Koch Media to see if they have any ideas.

    :P

  7. Hey guys, I have taken the item contents out of blueprint.txt and converted it into an excel file.

I have made two versions, one that includes the raw output (available here) and a reduced version which is designed to highlight the minimum constraints eg. min level, item tier, the unknown value and the level jump (available here).

Unfortunately due to the automated process I used to do this, I had to remove the 'bonusgroup' references the items have. I may go back and address this, but it was beyond the scope of what I was attempting to achieve anyhow.

    Number of items per tier: 101 (Tier 15), 167 (Tier 14), 533 (Tier 13), 13 (Tier 12), 48 (Tier 11), 9 (Tier 10), 229 (Tier 9), 9 (Tier 8), 2 (Tier 7), 0 (Tier 6), 136 (Tier 5), 15 (Tier 4), 0 (Tier 3), 5 (Tier 2), 314 (Tier 1) & 966 (Tier 0). Total, 2547 items.

The highest minimum level is an item called 'EMPTY' at 255 (which obviously isn't possible), below that it's the 'big' potions at 110. The highest legendary is Charo's Ring at 65 (which I can't seem to find in the wiki) and the highest unique is Quetzal's First Strike, also 65.

The largest level jump is 'unique ring zwei', which I believe is the second ring at 35 levels between drops (starting at 35).

Everyone's favourite, Kal'durs, sits in tier 14, has a minimum level of 40 and drops every 20 levels.

Some interesting things I noticed; most of tier 11 is the Xmas sets, lightsabers are in tier 12 which explains why they're hard to come across, most runes are in tier 9 and most trophies are tier 5. There are also several test items and a handful of 'DONOTDELETE' or 'DELETEME' items, interested to know if these are actually dropable. my boss would kick me in the rear if I left stuff like that in my code :P

Anyone want to hypothesize why tier 6 and 3 have no items?

  8. As much as I loved D2, I think the synergies were a bit of a mistake.

If they had been implemented in the original game, it wouldn't have been a problem, however they caused a lot of skill combos to become quite powerful and as such they had to increase the difficulty of the enemies. This meant that a lot of builds using a mixture of non synergy based skills were no longer viable. In my mind this is much worse than an across the board nerfing (like the reduction of +all skills in Ice and Blood).

The Sacred 2 'synergies' are not all so obvious, but with a lot of experimentation most of them have been discovered. As essjayehm mentioned, a good percentage of them extend past simply selecting two (or more) compatible skills. In this way, they are much more subtle and fluid than D2.

As a side note, it was the same patch for D2 that added a bunch of powerful runes and with the amount of duping going on, really ruined the game experience.

  9. Whelp. . .that stupid broad(Auto-start quest between Elf Outpost and Thysilum[sp?]) got killed a second time this week! Just got a horse and thought to myself - "Maybe I'll ride up on the mugger and kill him on horse back.' . . .the plan only half worked. My HE decided to have a bad case of the 'Missing The Target'!

Another time I even tried to snipe the mugger with Incendiary Shower since that CA can be activated on a spot regardless of distance to target. . .and YET even before I had the chance to try it as the quest started, the mugger killed the woman. . .talk about a Holy Hannah! moment.

You need to get in as quickly as possible, they will stop attacking her as soon as you attack them.

I've only ever failed the quest once when I joined someone else's server in Niob and the bandits were twice my level.

  10. Thanks man.. just as I suspected, dragons and guardians. I guess I'll do those first and if I'm getting reasonable drops, I will do the rest of my list in hopes of finding something worthwhile.

I am in contact with the Support Supervisor and they're actually testing things now (versus low level support where they ask me to turn things off/on). Unfortunately they claim there's no routing issue, so I am not sure if/when I will have a resolution.

  11. I was considering making a new post about legendary farming, but seeing this thread answers most of my questions, I'll just dig it up to ask.

Due to my current situation, I have been attempting to limit my play time to conserve bandwidth. As such, I am using the time I am able to play for boss hunting. My ultimate goal is legendaries.

I have been attempting to make a loop of as many bosses/mini bosses as possible in an effort to avoid restarting servers every 5mins (the connection to the lobby/starting a server takes upwards of 15mb, while playing barely uses any bandwidth). That said, I still don't want to attempt bosses that are a great distance from a spawn location.

At this stage I am doing: Boar, Poison Lord, Holos, Grunwald Dragon, Girvym Dragon, Garganthropod, Guardians and finally the CF up to Mishirla.

Am I wasting my time with all the mini bosses? I have several inventories full of set pieces and I seem to be getting a steady supply of uniques but from what I can tell, only the dragons/guardians are likely to give me legendary drops.

I am in need of an upgrade to my gear, and I'm going to attempt to socket a lot of MF. I have a reasonable amount of SB, but not a huge amount of map revealed (and unfortunately no time to do this at the moment). Is there anything else I can do that might help the process along?
