  1. I am available every day 8am to 9pm Eastern Time (sorry, forget the GMT) since I work nights. But I may want to sleep at some point in there (or maybe not)

Every day is fine with me, but I probably wouldn't expect everyone to :P

I'd like to play a melee toon I think. I've only played a Vamp, Wood Elf, Daemon and Dark Elf so probably not one of those. Battlemage FTW :)

re: Twinking - I always prefer playing my toons without gear from my previous ones. Also, I have to reinstall Sacred anyway.... I don't have anything stored! And I like the grind of the early levels anyway.

I wouldn't like to play HC... dumbass lag deaths ruin 100's of hours of building a toon? Maybe if there was the live servers and we had support networks... but for untwinked no HC for me.

  2. Due to the recent comments by some forum members recently, I think it is some time to get together for some good old (to some) Sacred Underworld Multiplayer action!

So, to get the ball rolling on this I've started this thread to start the conversation as to how to make this happen.

Sacred Underworld (2.28) will be the game, IIRC it is the common download found on most sites.

Tunngle will be the program we use to connect in a multiplayer game. This isn't set in concrete (yet), so speak up if there is a better option here.

    Times?

    Days?

    Toons?

    Twinking?

    Hardcore?

Hmmm.... what else do we need to discuss?

    Discuss!

  3. Interesting to see this "technology" (stolen from Nature, ofc) finding its way to the mass market.

The coating is actually very tiny hairlike structures that H2O molecules cannot fall in between, creating the waterproof effect.

Not too sure if the coating would work for bullets, though. It is the density of the water (molecules per cubic inch, etc) that inhibits things moving thru liquids (or plasmas, if you're into those...)

  4. So far I love it! :D Is there anyway to mule items on to other characters? No shared stash is kinda a bummer :/

Great game that has this little snag. Flix and Thorin have explained the method to mule items around, but it is a lot of work after a while. Oh, and I have had items disappear on me as well, which really sucked when I thought I had a weapon-set ready to go and one of the items was missing :(

Trading is super-borked if you work at it / put the time into it, just a warning. But, the combo system is super-abuseable as well, and I found no need for trading after figuring out the combo tricks.

Wood Elf is a good starter toon, with Penetrating arrow for mobs and Exposive arrows for bosses, you can pwn pretty easily (IMO).

  5. Anyways, this opens a build ideas like the pure summoner with a bow (though I need to change at least in my build my Stamina into Dexterity for better damage). I just need to edit my build some more then to get possibly stronger CAs from other aspects.

I would have to say there probably isn't too much that a bow can offer that Spectral Hand doesn't already do better, other than maybe being "different". And when SH works with 2H weapons, and the damage is boosted by Astral Lore (along with the damage of the summons when the appropriate mods are applied) IMO, it would lead back to the 'typical' summoner for Niob-play.

But it would be different, and so I like it :) BTW, have you ever tried Frenzied Rampage with an energy gun? Pew-pew ftw :nono:

  6. I think missing Warding Energy Lore is not horrible, but it will definitely affect not only the strength of your shield, but the regen as well. WEL unlocks the handy bonuses on gear and (more importantly) socketables that pump up your shields.

Modifying your gameplay (taking on less mobs at a time, waiting longer for shield regen, etc) can probably compensate for this in most circumstances... so I don't think you bork a shield toon without WEL.

    My .02

  7. And...what's the best mod yer saying for bark... I remember using the resistance increase...that the one you used too?

DB, how did you mod your dust devil?

With the game so in our pockets, I kinda get an urge to try out wacky/theme based builds.... kill speed is kind of old now, but funness can be everything!

    :bounce:

    gogo

Yeah... forget exacly which ones... but the +resists and +HP regen are stoopidgood with buffsuits ;) Used to love melee dryads, personally.

  8. Heya, Steve... glad you're having fun with the Dryad!

Triple-aspect toons are easier on Console, but usually entails having to skip on the General skills (ie no Bargaining). Since you're already there, I would say stick to the 2 aspects... especially since Weaver Lore does very powerful things for the CA's you don't want to skip out on it to get some Voodoo goodies.

The blowpipe is nutty DPS, and using the bow messes up RpH timing, so IMO stay with the pipe. You do have to get lucky in the latter difficulties keeping finding the uber-pipes but bargaining on the Console is pretty powerful (thanks to un-nerfed +allskills).

Dust Devil I never used. Ancient Bark is the stone nuts, when modded correctly.

As a final note... as a console-first Sacred 2 lover, I definitely prefer it on them to PC... the mouse/keyboard is clunky compared to the controller (proly from being a 'consoler'), and the difference in the graphics levels don't really appear too large. I have noted the terrain is a lot more 'pronounced' in the PC version, but otherwise the trees and grasses, buildings and roadways all generally seem the same. I do notice differences in monsters (esp. finer details) but all in all if you could patch up the console version (and possibly have the CM-addon as well) I would pick the console 100% of the time.

  9. The Inquisitor is the second-hardest toon to start in silver "untwinked" (without gear from other toons/chest). Temple Guardians deffo have it hardest there.

That said, the best advice I have is not to rush into Elysium too fast, the undeads will be very tough. Grinding out some kobold groups and finding a few runes and a couple of slotted items to make yourself a buff suit ASAP and mod Rev. Pol. asap to cover melee damage. Alternatively, you can just grind in Bronze until level 12 or so and things should be somewhat easier to get back into Silver.

    Good Luck!

  10. Sure can work. Acutally the Inquisitor is one of the better polearm users because of Ruthless Mutilation and Regeneration per Hit (and polearms' scaling ability to hit additional opponents). The best build would use Clustering Maelstrom to gather a bunch of dudes at one point, and after the CM damage, a good strong swipe thru the crowd with your beatstick can fully recharge your CA's / combo and you are ready for the next crowd. So, a mostly-magic based toon based around Astute Supremacy with a dash of Rutless Mutilation and Frenetic Fervor. Choose between Levin array and Raving Thrust, LA is better in the early-going where RT is better late-game (Plat/Niob). Doppelganager can be made into a buff if you so choose or you can skip the Concentration skill altogether - Inquistors are the squishiest toons so an extra defensive skill is always nice.

Your analysis of the combat arts is pretty good... although Purifying Chastiment and Soul Reaver are just fine as buffs if you have the toon built properly.

    Happy Hunting!

  11. Gave it some thought overnight... after a brief visit to their site to answer some questions I figured were already common knowledge; I believe I have some compentent questions to ask:

Will the Beta have Veteran/Elite difficulties?

Will there be a mechanic to change the quality of wares offered at a merchant? Such as a quest that upgrades a vendors' offerings; or a merchant hidden away that has 'better' items.

Being a Diablo-style game, where are all the rainbows and unicorns O.o?

I will probably have some more, when do you think you will submit the Q's, Knuckles?

  12. Heya, Enferian! I have slotted in some responses below in red

Thank you all for your advice...

Reagarding EP I decided to take it at 1pt and boost it with relics and +skill items..

I ve seen some pure caster builds and some Celestial builds on these forums and they seemed interesting, this is why I wanted to use CM as my main aspect.. but since all magic CAs in Sacred 2 need a high level to reach their potential I wanted to use another aspect to help me at the lower lvls... even though I havent decided what to do yet...

There is no reason you can't be a viable caster toon in the early going, no real need for another aspect just for the early game. You just need to build your toon up correctly; sometimes a couple of nice drops can make things easier, but magic damage is viable from start - finish.

On the other hand if I were to go for CM and Rev Tech then ancient magic could be usefull since it would increase dmg for all my CAs, but it I seems very weak before mastery. Also in that case I think it would be a good idea to take all the dmg I can get

Looking at the wiki tables for AM, CD and Aspect lore u can see that AM is weak without mastery...

At 74 pt bonuses u can see that AM offers +86.6% dmg.. this is achived with 39pts in CD and 26 in aspect lore.

(I chose to compare the 74 pt bonuse since its the highest bonus without mastery that u can see in the wiki)

When playing a mage, if you are primarily using 1 aspect for damage, then you want to pump up the lore, but for 2/3 aspect toons, then AM is the choice for which skill mastery you need mastered first. Combat Disc. is usually brought up later in the toons life, since the lore has much more damage, and the resist-reduction of AM is a huge boost to spell damage that isn't displayed in tooltips.

Also one more question... what do u think provides more dmg... to increase aspect lores above mastery or to add those points in some other skills like aspect focus or Combat Discipline/Ancient magic?

bringing another skill up to mastery before pumping points past mastery, in general, is better.
