StormyFairweather 0
Yeah, so, escort quests. They suck. They suck even more when you fail because buddy is too stupid and/or too weak. And the game autosaves. And you are too lazy to back up your char. But I have found a solution. In *scripts\server\balance.txt there is a line that reads: NpcFightDamageDownScaling = 500 After doing some testing I am almost certain this is a percentile modifier of the damage npc's do to each other with an invisible decimal point. The default makes it so npcs do half damage (50.0%) to each other, this includes mob v mob, guard v mob, escort v mob, etc. Basicly all damage YOU ain't doing. Set it to 5000, and watch mass genocides unfold, or set it to 0 and no one can kill but you. Be aware the game was likely balanced with npc interaction in mind, and that without dealing damage guards and escorts do not help you in any way, and removes alot of flavour of the world, so my suggestion is to only modify this setting for the duration of your escort quests. Hope this helps someone. Link to comment

What? guards and escorts help under normal circumstances Thanks for the info, and sure beats my way of just running through all the enemies and spamming health potions. Regards Link to comment
colif 36
The perfect mod for escorts would be to make all of them give you a choice of weapon equipped. The 1st escort quest does, giving you the illusion of some control. Yet no other quest does. They should offer sword, bow or nothing at all. Let you choose whether they are aggressive or just meek sheep. That would make more fun. Link to comment
TSFF19 0
(sorry if necro) Oh man, this is a LIFE SAVER. I had to start over from scratch because that woman from the Hold Up quest was killed by a random monster unrelated to the quest itself. Thank you SO much! Link to comment
crom2010 0
Hello to all. This trick allows NPC to do more damage. But it does not make them invincible. What should be changed so that the NPC are invincible or give them more hit points. Thank you for your answers and sorry for my English because I'm French. Link to comment
