Question about unlocking difficulty's

Hi, I have just moved from PC to the X-box 360 for a bit of a change and I was just wondering a few things about unlocking gold, platinum and niob... so here is my question.

 

I know on PC that you can unlock the different difficulty's simply by hitting a certain level in free play, but to unlock the higher difficulty's in campaign you need to beat the main storyline.

 

My question is simple, is this the same on X-box 360?

I know there is a way other than just the campaign, but there is no automatic by levels like on PC

I'm on the xbox 360 and only 2 ways I know of to unlock higher difficulties:

 

1. Beat Campaign

 

2. Save Glitch - basically join another persons campaign on a higher difficulty, advance the story line then save and exit, you can then choose "continue campaign" and it'll start a new campaign for you on that difficulty - you can't freeworld though on that difficulty until you've finished campaign though

Thank you very much guys, I really only want to do Freeworld so I guess I will have to run through the story line as fast as I can on a Class Mount or something like that.
