Combat Art levels can be changed in 2 ways, socketing a rune or by reading/eating a rune.

 

1. Reading a rune will increase the Combat art level by 1. but also increase the regeneration time.

 

2. Socketing a rune will also increase the level from 1-6 depending on the difficulty level. but only raised regen by about half

 

3. there is a max combat art level that is controlled by the character level. exceeding it will increase the regen penalty. you can counter this by taking the aspect focus for the combat art. this accelerates the level without penalty and decreases the regeneration time.

check out this editor it will allow you to change the CA level. but it works by changing the number of runes read.
