  1. Well, I dunno, which settings Omni is using, but I guess not the HD-textures. Pardon me, mate, if I'm wrong. And just your normal not so expensive 24" monitor.

I do have 1920x1080 res but only normal effects 'n stuff. It could looks sooo much better, but I lack the powah to delve there. I've tried few so called ENBs http://www.enbdev.com/mod_tesskyrim_v0113.htm this here thingie and various tweaks from Skyrim Nexus. But it really bites the fps...

Once my vendor gets stocked, I'll be getting a Radeon HD7850 with 2GBs of memory. More power, more pretty screenies. :P

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/Images/218922 Like this one, and there's tons of dazzling shots gamers have taken.

So, all in all, some GPU-power will get you there.

  2. Nice start indeed, considering you don't have any of those really great mods in use. I've gotten little overboard, so to speak with mine.

Around 160 misc. mods currently in use. And, surprisingly, everything's working well together. :D Though, that was a long and arduous job, truth to be told. Not sure if you're using the Steam-version, I do and found the backup function irreplaceable. Albeit having good connection, dl'ing all those gigs many times a day is a chore. :P

Currently struggling to create couple of followers from my own characters. Only thing is they're of custom races, and there just doesn't seem to be a good, surefire tutorial how to make this feat... With vanilla races it's really easy, but customs are a different story... hoping to get there soon.

I'll edit and upload couple shots of my own chars, once I get into taking them. I might just take a rest and try again tomorrow with the followers business.

EDIT: Got fed up with modding, as there doesn't seem to be a painless way to do what I wanted...

So, some screenies from my most played characters.

    ScreenShot6_zps5e7ffa15.jpg

My kinda Jack-of-all-trades, Mage, Thief, Spell Blade, or something Ice Noiral, Shanna Wintermane. Checking the scenery from Windstad Manor.

    ScreenShot4_zpsaeb98d63.jpg

Same lass, having an apple dumpling with some fine wine. And mayhap read chapter or two of Cabin in the Woods.

    ScreenShot3_zpsd69c5214.jpg

Newest addition, around lv. 21 Fire Noiral mage Asuka Honou. Delving into the mysteries of Saarthal.

    ScreenShot2_zpse2263c81.jpg

Same gal, after a bout with a dragon. Just drained that sucker's soul. :D

    ScreenShot13_zps5d851b3f.jpg

My earlier mage, also Noiral. One might notice I'm quite fond of the said custom race. :P They're of Nord-background, which explains so skimpy a robe on the snowy mountains of Skyrim. xD

Also started a Redguard male two-hander swordsman, which I converted into a follower for more squishy builds.

Will post few screens when I get him all geared and started, whenever that may be.

  3. Alchemy can really be a useful one, and really overlooked too. Kind of regret neglecting it almost completely on most chars I've played it the past.

Might make few Alchemy-reliant builds once I get the spark to play again all ignited. :D

  4. Virtues of the Seraphim is visually only a re-texture of the original Niokaste's. And the set's shield isn't the golden textured one seen on the quest marker Seraphim. If I see correctly, the sword is the one used in Virtues, though.

If memory serves, that particular shield hasn't been (at least yet) been implemented in the CM. At least I haven't seen that one around. Aaand I guess it isn't Kira's Wall either. Should be more white-hued (I think). I've never gotten my hands on that one...

  5. Geh... More snow, once again. From what I've read it's quite far-spread, so to speak. At least in Europe. Looks like Friday should be sunny again. I've about had enough of this damn snow... It's starting to be a bit problematic, as our condominium has quite small yard. There's soon simply no places to put the snow to...

chattius: It's good to hear no lifes were lost in that accident.

Gogo: About the glass business; I've wanted those kinds of glasses too, the price is the only downside. Glasses in general are quite expensive here. Even when there's more competition than in the past, it's sometimes somewhat ridiculous. So I had to make a compromise and get both.

  6. Looks like it'll be sunny throughout the weekend, albeit tad cold. Luckily, I don't need to be that much on the outside.

Other good thing I bought me sunglasses last fall, finally. There was a nice offer, otherwise I couldn't have afforded 'em.

As glass-user, I need mine with the same strength as my glasses. Could use contacts, but they cost too. All in all, one of the best ~70€ purchase, dem sunglasses. :P

  7. Same here, Kiy. That would be pretty neat.

And no dumbing it down. Just the much deserved facelift.

As things stand, I doubt we'll see Demoness, Vamp, or the others, save some small wonder, but they'd be a great addition indeed.

Played a little with Daemon's Poison Ring build and loved it from the start again. ^^

  8. Yeah, many of us are in sore need of the great stuff it contains. Hoping Gogo and Schot can get things up soon enough.

As for the build, looks like a nice idea, now that we have more of those extended CA-range goodies.

Radiant Pillar would be the English name of the said CA. I might try this once I get back on with my caster-seraphim. Sooo many things to do, so many games to play. :P

  9. It's your fave, or not, necro around again. :P

Few possible spoilers below. Just to notify in case.

Got the second season's BDs today. It think I'll be marathoning it tomorrow. Just too sleep deprived to start today.

Got around reading the first book, finally! There was so many things robbing some attention from it. >_<

Also, started the second book and noticed it's really better underlayed than the series. Memory's a bit hazy, but if I recall correctly for example Melisandre just appeared out of nowhere in the series, whereas she's brought into the scene right from start.

That, or I really missed something watching the series the first time.

  10. Weird thing is, it didn't give me any troubles after I reinstalled it in program files. Usually I've kept games outta there for the afforementioned reasons and few others. The old installation was on different hd, no go. New install works like a charm. Looks like it's another little chapter in the weirdness of Sacred- games. :D

And I've completely terminated UAC for that matter. I can handle my comp well without it anyways.

  11. Well, I'm running on x64 Win7 Ultimate, FWIW. I had an older installation of Sacred Gold, made waaay back. Never re-installed as the game worked. Although I couldn't select the starting skills either. Just checked the congif file and I had changed DEFAULT_SKILL : 0.

Well, just made a fresh install, putting the game on my Windows drive, seeing it's an SSD with enough capacity to store few games. And runs 'em tad bit faster. Patched it all up to 2.28, with the patch from here, changed the line again, same place. And it works. First I thought that maybe there's a separate configuration file somewhere in the own documents or something, but apparently that's not the case.

Dunno if this helps your problem, Thorin, but I though I'd just put up my 10 cents. :)

  12. Good luck with that. After quite a few stumbling arounds with the mods, I've finally found quite nicely stable combination of about 130 mods. Yeah, that's a lot, I admit, but most of 'em just add few things here and there. Better females, etc. And couple of custom races. Funny thing, I've never liked TES' normal races. In Oblivion it was either Schoco-elf, or something, and in Skyrim Noiral. They're really nice race to play around. Really recommended. Although, one should always have few cure disease potions with 'em in case of near vampire contact. Vamps and Noirals aren't compatible in the least. :P

And yeah, albeit being smaller than Cyrodiil in Oblivion, Skyrim offers quite a many places to visit and in pc great graphics. Nice game to go sightseeing. just remember to keep those weapons or spells at hand. :P I'm stuck with normal graphs, tho, as high-res ones require at least 1GB memory from the GPU. But it's still great looking. And personally, can't complain about the controls. I couldn't even think of playing with controller.

  13. Heh, old games tend to give those moments nowadays. :P Just remembering when it was "whoa dood! Awshum stuff!" for the original NwN. Still to start the campaign, been stuck to Skyrim. But I'll be sure to put up an NwN-marathon one of these days. Maybe following your build.

I usually start with a mage character in games like these. And truth to be told; it's quite an agonizing experience. At least for me. I love all the magical goodies, but one has to have some muscle to aid through the starting steps. Ridiculously low armor class, etc. Getting owned by goddamn rats 'n stuff...

Should also start NwN 2. Still to play through both of the expansions. Now that I legitimately have the full collection through Steam. Kind of tempted to dig up the "Zehirication" mod for the main campaign and MoTB. As nice NCPs there is, nothing beats going through all stuff with a custom-build party, like old Baldur's and the like. ^^

  14. chattius: Your post nearly motivated me to go to do some firewood. Although, we don't have that much forest left, and it's far away from where I live... And I don't have need for firewood at this time of life. Would've been good practice though. :) Remember helping pops with some wood gathering waaay back.

Knucks: Looks like someone's inverted you weather conditions... We've mostly gotten quite accurate forecasts, be for the good, or worse.

And it looks like we don't get as cold weather as I feared. Even though over -10C is quite enough. Still haven't got totally over the cold, so the warmer the better for me. And looks like we'll get little more snow. Not much, luckily.

  15. Oh, the glorious days of the original Sacred. I actually have couple of projects going on now that I finally managed to sort things out. Other is the said X-bower. Made him back in the day and got somewhere in Platinum until my HD died. Also, started a Poison Daemon, just for the fick of it. Paired with tentacles is helluva gorefest. :D

All these funny things aren't possible in a dumbed down more action orientated RPG. If one could even say RPG after the previews and stuff...

  16. What Cathleen said.

Although, I'm pretty sure that if thing's won't take a big leap to some other way, Sacred 3's not on my top list of things to buy... Dunno exactly what's coming on the two latter quarters of this year, but I'm sure there'll be some thing that'll go on the top of the list.

Watch Dogs for example would be one, if EU release is in about on par with the US.

  17. Yeah, it seems that weather's all fuzzy all over the place.

Today was an semi-okay day, except for some nasty sleet, which luckily didn't last long. Weekend's gonna be all cold, just as I said earlier... Gonna get all I need from the store tomorrow, don't want to go out when it's about -20, if I absolutely don't have to...

Gogo: Yep. That's Finland for you, alright. Although, I'm not the least bit envious of Siberian people. Makes local weather look like a paradise in comparison. :P

  18. Well, I usually get my gadgets from online, so no such thing's possible. That's why I usually read many reviews and stuff before buying anything. And if possible, hear some first hand experiences, if any associates happen to have 'em.

Nice to hear you got things sorted out, Gogo. :) Kinda funny to see, that the cheapest was the winner, as usually price can be felt in such a thing as a mouse. I went quite a long time with some wireless Logitech, can't even remember the name anymore. It died on me some time last year and I got meself Roccat Savu. Was around ~60€ or something. I usually go for the cheap ones, but this is yet to let me down. Plus is corded, so no need to worry about the batteries.

Funny thing how my computing habits have evolved from corded keyb/mousie, to cordless combo and back to corded. I somehow find 'em more comfy for me. When I game or use computer, I'm stuck in front of the thing, which is a good thing, IMHO. For cordless experience, I play with PS3.

How comes the board sucks up my spacing? There's supposed to be an empty line between the chapters... :sweating:

  19. Wolfie: Yep. Going to get one set together for my Pyro-bargainer one of these days. :P And if I'm not wrong, same is with the Exalted set for seraphim; Virtues of Seraphim. And Sopor's too.

I can't seem to find the post on quick search, but he did a standalone patch, which changed at least one Dryad's set, took the cloak of the SW's Lich King set, etc. Might be that it went missing with the recent tumble...
