  1. The latest news on Sacred III didn't change my mind as Silver_fox already posted a comment and this very much along the lines I do take it "we know too little to judge the game and we won't purchase it until we see teh reviews". The little I know about the game makes me feel bad about the future of Sacred III but I will not judge it before there are some "hard" facts.

My take on why the pushed the release date forward is that 1st of August is at the beginning or within the summer holidays here in Germany and Austria. Maybe the hope of Deep Silver is to catch school childrens in their holidays to buy something new and spend their holidays with!?

Anyway, two more months to go till we finally will see something "real" about Sacred III.

  2. I don't know if it would apply here as well but I too had asked LT for permission to at least up-load his stuff to DarkMatters and his answer to this question had been that I should feel free to do so.

His explanation of why he shot down his side had been that he is not anylonger into playing Sacred or doing any work on it and as server and hosting is money consuming he finally needed to make this decission.

So, as I said, I cannot speak for him but in a way I do have a general permission to up-load his stuff to DarkMatters and I guess he would be fine with integrating his stuff into the CM-Patch-Item-Mod as long as it is made clear that this is his work and I guess this is of no question, isn't it!?

  3. Generally I don't feel that the fire effect is that overhelming although I can see what You, Flix, mean in some of your screenshots.

I'm not sure, but I thought that there had been someone who did a mod on reducing the effects of fire, ice, poisen and so on!? Maybe this is something You could give a try? I feel that removing the effect completely wouldn't serve the overall appearence of the set, but reducing the flame effect might do the job!?

Unfortunately I, myself, have no idea of how to do that.

  4. First of all I would like to stress what Flix already said, get Ice and Blood, get the CM-Patch and the CM-Patch-Item-Mod and enjoy an even better Sacred!

Then, I have to say, I only can underline what Silver_fox already said, a couple of years back down in the German speaking forum of Sacred Fallen Angel and later Ice and Blood there had been numerous threads about what the community would wish for a Sacred III to be like. Unfortunately it seemed that DS gave a .... about what had been written there.

Now the train has left for Sacred III and we will not see a improved Sacred II, as sad as it is. The only thing we, sorry for putting it this way, real Sacred fans now still can do is making our voices heard and not buy this game doesn't matter if it is good or not. To boycott Sacred III and bee it only to show that publishers cannot do what they want to just make money out of a very good series name. At least this is what I will do and I have no problem with it as there are more than enough alternatives to a Sacred III which are for sure better or, should it happen that it becomes a good game, at least equal.

  5. I'm a bit bias about that all!

First at Unsacred the promised a big up-date for this Friday only to find the homepage not accessable. Today, Saturday, then I need to find out via the old official forum that everything has changed although nothing, except for the name, has changed. Now the game is called "unbended" and the "new" homepage can befound, for those who are still interested in it, via this link

At least there is now already a link for a English version, although not yet anything up there.

So far neither Sacred III nor Unbended do leave a good tast in my mouth but maybe it is the same with old wine!? Maybe it just needs time and some careful observation till the full tast can flourish!?

  6. Cheers Flix for making this clear to me!

Anyway, as I said, it is not a big deal and maybe in the near futur it might get sorted out anyway, as marcuswob posted some news according the new and maybe last CM-Patch over in the Sacred II forum. In this news he let us know that the CM-Patch Item Mod V1 will be included in the comming CM-Patch and that it needs some more translation before everything is done.

If it should be that this CM-Patch is really the last one, according to what Silver_fox said, and You, Flix would need someone in the future to translate a new version of your CM-Patch Item Mod into German, I would be more than happy to help You with that.

Anyway, meanwhile I do enjoy playing the game and finding all the new stuff! :)

  7. Coincidences! Funny as it is, it had been just yesterday that marcuswob posted something new in the Community-Patch thread over in the Sacred II forum. In this post he let us know that the CM-Patch V0144 can be downloaded vom the "Bugtracker", but for testing purpose only. The new and according to Silver_fox words last CM-Patch will also include the CM-Patch Item Mod V1.

The whole news can be found via this link ! (German only, sorry!)

  8. Okay, today some feedback from my side for the first version of the CM-Patch Item-Mod.

I'm using it now already for a couple of days and so far I could find two new set-items but, as you will see on the screen shots, I have no idea to which set those belong!?

I don't know maybe it is due to using the Mod on a German installation or together with other Mods - although I'm confident that I did the compiling of the Mod okay. But anyway I'm missing somewhat the second line, the line below the item name which would normally tell me to which set this item does belong to.

Any help or explanaition for what might cause this or wherein I need to look at to get it fixed would be very much appreciated!

As a site note, in addition you also can see the "problem" of which I had spoken earlier, the mixed language item names (German/English). This is not causing me any problems, it is just optically "strange".

  9. First of all thanks for another lovely Friday morning, because I could see some great stuff coming along our way!

But, is it just me or why do the characters hold all the new swords at the furthest end of the handle? Would it be possible to give them a more realistic grip position on the handle? I mean, everyone who does or did sword playing knows that in a one hand grip you hold the sword close behind the guard.

It would be very much appreciated if it could be changed.
