  1.

It's Arkenmark, not Artamark's Refuge. Everyone seems to get it wrong. Could be it's proximity to Artamark's Gate and Splinters...

Secondly, it does appear to be a known issue.

Third, there appears to be a fix - the CM Patch. It was fixed as of patch 0090. It's listed in the changelog on the previous link. Unfortunately, it only works for local, LAN, and OpenNet games. ClosedNet users are out of luck.

Welllllll the Sacred Wiki map has it as Artemark's Refuge and that is where I got the name as I was not in the game at the time. Guess even the greats are not immune to misnomers.:Just_Cuz_21:

  2. Every time my seraphim enters the tomb in Artamark's refuge almost everything ceases to move. She cannot walk around the inside of the tomb or open any chests, urns, gates or the sarcophagus. I can use Assailing Assault with the Ctrl key to move her from zombie to zombie to kill them but the zombies just remain stationary and do not fight back. I can't exit the tomb without saving and exiting the game. Anyone else run into this problem?

  3. I recently tried to collect as many as possible but returned them all after trying to pick up the kid who is lost close to Sonnenwind because there is cap on the max number of NPCs you can take with you, from memory I think the max is six. I was playing a Seraphim called Mary Poppins. My wife usually picks up and keeps the guy from close to Twainbrook as soon as possible in the game and keeps him until late in Act 1, she refuses to even try the relic quest because she thinks killing Mummy Bear is really really nasty!

She may be able to complete the relic quest without killing the momma bear. The main purpose of the quest is to get the teddy bear which is lying on the floor of the cave. After sneaking into the cave and killing the other bears in the lower chamber she can run into the momma bear's chamber while hitting Q to pick up the teddy bear and run out of the cave quickly. Momma bear will chase her only a short distance before turning back. It would be interesting to see if the dialogue changes when she gives the teddy bear to the little girl.

  4. Hi

im playing Sacred 2 on PC, mainly playing single

I cant find the mini boss anywhere, in campain mode nor free play

do I need to do some quest to have them spawning or im just not looking at good place ?

I try to look for Thranak inside cave and hes not where hes suppose to be

I try to look for the raging boar inside the forest and hes not there too

There is a list of mini bosses on Sacred Wiki that require quests to activate them. The link to all the bosses on Wiki is:

  5. Do we have a separate page with just individual graves in the Wiki? I noted a few earlier in this thread but didn't see them in the Wiki. There is another grave at the end of a cave in the Medici outpost NW of the military camp north of Clearview. The tombstone reads: "He was happily married - but his wife wasn't."

P.S. As a side note the Medici were a powerful family in the middle ages of Europe who were notorious for their activity in politics, murder by poison and support of the arts.

Yah.. The name of the family is DeElfici... It's close... And you meant northEAST of Clearview.. Right? This is the place where light path players pick up the package for the soldier up in Artamark... Northwest would put you in General Delizius' camp - the rabid Blind Guardian fan with the drumsticks.

I added a page called "Tyr-Lysia Graves and Memorials" to the Grave Inscriptions page. It'll serve as a catch-all for misc graves like the one you found. I'm basing this page on the Desert region catch-all page.

Go ahead and add it there.

    Hi narchlord!

I don't think we have that page yet, but I can put it in today during Work. Wolfie or anyone else got a name they want to use for this page?

    :viking:

    gogo

See above.. I couldn't come up with any better name..

Yeah the names of the boss family members are DeElfici but their actions in both the light and shadow campaigns remind me of the Medici. And I had my camera turned so NW became NE. Good catch Wolfie2kx!

Instead of having a separate page for each area why can't we have one on page titled Miscellaneous Graves and Monuments in Ancaria with the regions listed as headers above the found graves, pretty much the same format as the cemeteries page is now?

  6. When playing a Dryad character you have the option of equipping a shrunken head.

The shrunken head gives you a bonus (damage?, attack?, defense value against?).

I've noted that all the characters have differing values of bonus versus different categories of opponents.

Does anyone have a handle on how these values show up? Or is this just something partially exposed to us in the interface?

The shrunken head equipped makes it easier to kill that type of opponent. I believe it increases attack value against that type of opponent which in turn increases chance to hit. It may also lower their resistance to spell CAs. I'll have to check it out next time I play one of my Dryads.

  8. The radiant pillar/flaring nova combo sound good and all, but is it worth it without celestial magic lore and focus? I mean, without them, I feel like they don't do very much damage. And since I'm going the exalted warrior and revered technology path, I didn't want to invest more skills on celestial magic. So yea, I'll try that combo, but I feel like it might not be that strong.

Since Flaring Nova is a Revered Tech CA you can put a bunch of points in it to do most of the damage. If you mod Radiant Pillar for hypnosis you can draw the mobs in towards you so that FN can hit them easily. FN emanates from your position while RP can be any distance from you so cast RP close to you. That also allows the second combo of SH and PS (both Exalted Warrior) to be executed within the radius of PS/RP.

  9. So it's been assembled, typing on it now :P

Everything was smooth sailing up until I put the power plug in. The comp kept on getting stuck on the intro BIOS screen and kept rebooting ad infinitum, wasn't recognizing the keyboard/mouse for more than a second. Took us an hour of troubleshooting to figure out what the heck was going on. Turns out that one of the 3 sticks of RAM was defective, we tested them 1 by 1. So...now I'm only running with 4gb, will be calling Newegg on Monday so they can sort this out. I heard they are good with this kind of customer service, so I am not too worried. Did a little test run on NWN2, maxed all settings and turned all advanced graphics on, and running at a smooth 40~45, which is a miracle for that game, haha. Downloading Sacred2 from my DLGamer account now

All that's left to say is welcome and enjoy!

  10. Zaraki,

    Try this combo for mobbin':

Radiant pillar --> halo [whatever it's called] --> pelting strikes

The pillar and the halo are 360 degree forces and the strikes cleans up the rest.

Combos are worth it for all of the char builds IMO. Every build of mine uses combat discipline.

    ZConnor

The halo is Flaring Nova. I don't use combat discipline but use two combos in succession. Radiant Pillar and Flaring Nova combo followed by Soul Hammer and Pelting Strikes to knock out any champions still standing after the first combo. I find that I don't always need the second combo and by using CAs from one or two different aspects at most first I can use two CAs of the same aspect in a second combo while the first is still running.

  11. Kev! wow, I just caught this post.. great seeing you back on the boards mate...and accompanied by this beast :oooo:

Did you get it? Does Sacred 2 finally acquiesce to your graphix wishes?

    :(

    gogo

Thanks! I bought the parts on Newegg last night, so I'm hoping it will arrive by Saturday. I have two huge exams next Thursday, but I want to build it this weekend hopefully so I can get it off my mind and then focus on studying :)

I've never built a computer before, but I have 2~3 tech savvy friends here who are willing to help me. They want me to do the work though while they watch, to make it a learning experience for me. I'll post pics when it's done, assuming all parts are functioning and I don't zap anything!

There are several good guides on Maximum PC's web site to building a system from scratch. Check them out as they give good tips and traps to look for when putting a system together. I had my killer system built by Origin. They are the same guys that started Alienware but left to start Origin when Dell bought Alienware.

  12. Edit: Oh I just remembered another question I had: Is it possible to change the settings in the game (maybe even through custom settings) so that you can use your combat arts by just clicking their respective hotkeys (1-5, etc)? When I played the demo I noticed that you needed to hit the hot key and then use right click to actually perform the skills. The whole process seemed kind of redundant to me and I was hoping there was a way that the hotkeys, themselves alone, could be set up to use the skill with the single push of a button (without the need of right click).

It's not really a big deal, but I've gotten pretty used to the typical hotkey mechanics in most games these days. Plus, It'd be great to be able to reassign the right click to the camera control instead (if that's possible). That's asking a bit much I guess, but I figured it couldn't hurt to see what was possible :) .

Yes you can change the settings to just hit the number keys instead of right-clicking. You will find the option under the options menu of course. Also, there is an option to remap the keyboard to whatever keys you like.

  13. So have I missed something then. I've usually just gone there and shes there, but this time she isn't. I guess she must have gotten killed by one of the bandits that hang around that location. :(

Any chance you are using the cm-patch? The implemented a pre-quest for the undead legion in it, you need to speak to the commander or something in the army camp just outside of clearview who tells you to find the woman you are looking for I believe.

The sequence of events is thus if you don't have the CM patch:

Talk to the commander in the camp in the south part of Thylisium and he tells you to go to the old naval port to get rid of some undead. Do that quest and report back to him. He tells you to take his attack plan to the council in the forum building for approval. The senator then send you back to the other part of the old naval port to kill the Lich responsible for creating the undead. After that talk to the woman in front of the tavern northeast of Thylisium on the road to Clearview. She sends you after several items to identify the undead skeletons then asks you to go back to Thylisium and give the info to another councilman. The councilman sends you back to the old naval port to find out where the dead are coming from. After talking to the leper at the port you talk to another commander at the camp in Thylisium who send three of his soldiers with you to kill undead officers at the port. When you report back to him he sends you to Clearview to talk with the soldier standing by the last house north of town. That guy sends you to check on his girlfriend who, in turn, sends you to check on her brother. After retrieving and returning her dead brother's amulet she send you back to her boyfriend who then send you after some of the undead legion. After killing about 10 of them you report back to him and get the quest to go after the undead General. Miss any one of those people and the quest is broken.

  14. So have I missed something then. I've usually just gone there and shes there, but this time she isn't. I guess she must have gotten killed by one of the bandits that hang around that location. :(

I've run 10 toons through the Undead Legion and never had a problem finding her. For some of the toons I explored all the area around Clearview and the final camp first and she was always there. I've seen bandits attack the guards and the other mobs in the area but never attack her. Did you do the quests given by the camp commander in Thylisium sending you to the old naval port first before looking for her? I believe completion of those quests trigger her being there to start the next part of that chained series.

  15. QUOTE (Rasputin17 @ Oct 24 2010, 12:04 PM) post_snapback.gif

I am dual wield Seraphim by the way. I was going to use Officers Saber with conversion to ice damage and Timburks Curse or something but I want to have life leech on one of my weapons. So, best life leech weapon plus Officers Saber and convert fire damage into the life leech weapon.

For life leach the best sword at your level is Ysandrifa's Law. it will drop at several different levels with increasing stats.

  16. I never buy a horse. You can't perform your Combat Arts from it and fighting from it doesn't go well. I always travel by foot until I got my special mount. So first on foot to Thylysium and Dragonmaw Pass and then to Black Oaks, Wargfels, Orcish Byway and Urthak's Moxie. Yeah, you can use a horse to flee and get tons of mobs right after you (which go back to their position after a while). However, you miss some xp and when fetching the map you run into several goblins and boars, who chase you all the time when you sit on your horse.

Just perform the MQ, fight your way to orcish byway and get the quest.

Yeah, same with me...I just bought horse to travel across land, which is slower if to get by running. Whenever encountered with large mob, I would get back to my foot for fighting.

You can actually pick up the map while riding a horse without stopping. As you get close to it just hit "Q" and keep going right back to the archeologist. Yes, riding through the route doesn't get you XP but after you get the unique mount you can collect all the XP you want as all those mobs will still be there. I ride the horse to get my unique mount early in the game before I do the rest of quests in Thylisium and Tyr Lysia. Also getting the unique mount early allows me to get through the desert and jungle area to start the "Something Wonderful" portion of the Epic Office Quest then through the T-energy pools east of Teardrop Hamlet to Libi's Pratfall for the second poart of the Epic Office Quest activation. That way I can retrace my path while fighting on my unique mount to get the office personnel in Tyr Lysia before continuing to Atarmark. But to each his own as to play style.

  17. I am running a dual wield seraphim (level 27) with warding energy at level 5. This keeps the regen penalty below 30%. I have bronze, silver and gold mods to decrease damage taken as I am not using shield due to DW. Adding the Warding Lore next level up to increase the shield strength. I understand you are not wanting to have a really strong shield but just strong enough to reflect damage and spells. So your choice of mods would be right for that. Adding points to RTF would increase the properties of the shield and allow for modding but not as greatly as having Warding Lore so that should be enough to accomplish your goals. Suggest that your wife's character be allowed to "rest" about 10 seconds after fights to replenish the shield as it will probably go down quickly when attacked by large/strong mobs. At level 140 her toon should have enough health combined with Divine Protection to survive after her shield goes down. Unlike the Temple Guardian whose shield can be modded to replenish in combat the seraphim has to allow her shield to replenish out of combat.

  18. Thanks for the fast response and welcomes guys :)

As much as I'd like to help out the site, I don't think I'll be able to buy it from that store as I'm living in the US, and the gold edition doesn't seem to be offered at the US store :) . If there's a way to buy it there regardless though, just let me know what I need to do - I really don't know anything about cross-country purchases and how it works and/or if it's even possible.

I'm guessing ebay might be my only option, arrg ;)

The site will allow a US purchase. It is the very same site in which we all buy our +3 char slots.

As for a hard case copy, ebay is probably your best bet.

    Kind Regards, Etherian

As you can see I live in Texas. I did a search and found a seller overseas that sold boxed copies of the European version when I bought my sacred 2 Gold. A quick online search just now came up with several sites selling the boxed Deep Silver Fallen Angel and the expansion Ice & Blood as separate entities but everybody was out of the Gold box. So you can get both and then run the patches to update them if you want a boxed copy instead of downloading online. Buying from overseas sources is no problem as the currency is automatically converted when using a credit card. Hope this helps.

  19. Haha. Well, looked like you worked out how things work over here. Lol at the item though...I managed to pick up an Item and a Rusty Item the other day...neither have a picture in the inventory, but they can be equipped anywhere...I think they are the potion bottles the seraphim has on her waist...

Still, basket of fruit...maybe someone is saying your seraphim needs to slim down a bit

Hey, thanks for reply. Yeah, my small brain struggles to adept to the changes from one forum to the next !

Thorin explained on S.I.F. about the items. Aparently they were from a quest chain that was in beta, but got abandened. Sadly the items were not removed !

My seraphim getting fat ?!?! * She (Steve's seraphim ) jumps out of Dragon Brother's screen and wacks him around head with light sabre * Mwahaha !

    See ya,

    Steve. :bounce:

you might want to keep her away from the basket of candy in Teardrop Hamlet!

  20. Thanks again for clearing that up. Sword weapons is out because I want to be able to use hafted weapons if I find them. I guess I will take CM Lore so I have a better baneful smite and pillar. Plus, it will allow me to cast Hallowed Restoration faster.

I think I will take Concentration because I don't really need Constitution with Divine Protection, Battle Stance and HR. Cleansing Brilliance will only be modded once or twice. All I really want is the ability to slow enemies attack speed and I think it increases the distance I can see on the map right? One last question though do I want to eat runes for HR and Battle Stance? Say I can have HR at level 15 without reduction is it better to have a higher skill level or be able to cast it every 2-3 seconds so it stacks?

The optimal timing of HR depends on your play style, defense values and level of mobs you are fighting. At lower levels you may find 5-7 seconds or longer acceptable regen times depending on how much damage your Seraphim is taking. Against bosses a lower regen is advantageous or a quick thumb on the space bar! My level 52 seraphim has a regen time of 6.4 sec with a level of 26 eaten runes. As you put points in stamina, concentration, armor lore and CM focus the regen times of the CAs will go down. As for battle Stance, the regen penalty will go down as you put points into the aforementioned attribute and skills (EW instead of CM) but you don't want too eat too many runes early on as the jump in penalty level is fairly large. I try to keep the penalty under 30% and monitor the regen times of my CA to determine when to up the level. Cleansing Brilliance gives a lot bigger area of light in dark areas and brightens them considerably. The range listed for CB is the area of effect and not the visibility on the map. There are items in the game you can socket to increase map visibility distance as well as light area .
