  1. Update, this is getting really freaky. I did a clean re-install and placed my character and save file back with the same results. Perhaps I should have deleted all remaining vestiges of Sacred 2 from my PC before starting over fresh. I can load the same character at a lower level but whenever she reaches level 63 and I start the game again there's the attached Soldier.

  2. Thanks for your timely reply. Yes, I tried saving the game, changng areas, re-booting, and everything but changing difficulties. I'll try that. Also, I have had Zaman show up to watch the End Boss' battle. His daddy told me that boy was the adventurous sort. I'll try your other suggestion. If I do feel the need to do a clean re-install do I have to use the revocation tool If I am re-loading on the same PC?

  3. This seems to be happening regularly and it even sounds a bit humorous. I'll start the game after an hour or more and when it loads the character I had been playing (my High Elf) she has a tag-along. I had just completed the chain quest in the desert with Skeik Yerbouty after having an entourage of soldiers. I left the game and came back to have one of the soldiers attached to me. (she is rather fetching... but seriously) I had saved the character/status files several levels ago so I can backtrack but I'm wondering if I should just do a clean re-load first. I'm wondering if I still need to use the revocation tool since I'm loading it back onto the same PC. I'm playing Vanilla Sacred 2 because the town in which I reside is too small to have any storefronts that would stock or even order Sacred 2 Gold Edition. I also could not find it online. Maybe if I wasn't so busy playing the game I would have searched a bit more thoroughly. Does anyone have any suggestions and should I report this bug?

  4. Ah, well his post indicated more at level 45, but I could have misunderstood. I have only read three at level 52, but I still have fast regen time of the three CAs. I believe that Loco indicated that he stacked his armor with IS runes at Niob. Still I wonder what his limit was for IS runes used at that level.

  5. I started my build over and she's already at level 50. I am keeping the regen time for CAs to well under 2 seconds. Plus All Skills, Stamina, etc., really help with doing so. It's still rather fuzzy at what level Loco added more runes to Incandescent Skin and just how many. AF seems to be more needy for runes than BT and IS; I only add runes when the regen time is under 1.3 seconds when mounted on the Wind Serpent and both buffs are active. I intend to play through the Niob level. Still, it would be good to know when to add more buff runes for Incandescent Skin, rather than the CAs. Loco's build model is quite the devastating toon, indeed.

  6. Banshee, also, don't forget, less is more (to a point) when it comes to reading/using Combat Art & Buff Runes. The exception being the buff Grand Invigoration for the High Elf. There is a very well written plan for a superlatively successful High Elf build here:

There are also some particularly good builds here as well for the Seraphim:

  7. Banshee, there are some marvelous items to be downloaded here, among them Stalwart Safeguard. I'll leave a link below for your convenience. There are instructions within the zip file how to install it in your game, where it will appear in the shared chest. You must be careful what you are doing or you may lose your shared items. The shared chest will always appear from one character to another. If you place items there and start a new character the new toon will be able to find the items that you left in the shared portion of the chest. It's rather like having a secret compartment in the chest. I agree, the level of detail, interesting places, music, and the experience of visiting the lands of Ancaria make the Sacred 2 world a place that seems to never get tiresome. I'm not sure who designed the werewolves, I'm sure that it must be one of those who are dispersed on the map with an exclamation mark above their heads as part of the epic office quest. The secret to that fun quest starts in the jungle to the south and east, there is a hidden ancient underground vault with a switch which unlocks "something Wonderful". Banshee, please don't be put off by the seemingly overwhelming plethora of knowledge here. Each of us also began our own learning process at some point. It would be a loss to us all if members such as yourself did not participate and avail us of helpful information and advice; your interaction here is quite welcome.

Following are some quick instructions if you wished to download and install an item into your game. First download the Stalwart Safeguard. (or other item or items within a single chest file) You must first go to your saved games folder and find your original Chest.sacred2chest file and save it somewhere safe. I prefer to make a new folder with a brief description, such as the date, then paste your current Chest.sacred2chest file into it and store it away. The saved games folder is found in your documents in Ascaron Entertainment then Sacred 2 folder. There are instructions within the zip file too. Now that you have secured your current file you may add the Chest.sacred2chest file from the zip file. When you load the game your character will have their new shield in a variety of levels! Now clear what you wish to save of the shields from the shared folder, you may sell the rest for some quick gold. I prefer to then save my game and exit and then replace the Chest.sacred2chest file with my original one (copy and paste) into the saved games folder. When you restart now, all your old shared items are back. Yes, it's a lot of trouble to go through and some believe that it's more fun to wait for the drop; I'm sure that you know of the joy from finding something special in the game unexpectedly. I do hope that you will not forsake the forums. The link is below; I'll see you in Ancaria!

  8. I have done well building a High Elf mage using Mystic Stormite Lore & Focus and have progressed through the Niobum level, completing the main quest successfully with no resurrections. I started a new toon, using Arrant Pyromancer Lore & Focus, but wondered about the seeming lack of the armor protection boost when not using the Crystal Skin buff. Adding power to the buff by reading runes slows down the regen of all other combat arts but Mystic Stormite. Incandescent Skin doesn't seem to offer the protection, although toasting ones opponent does seem much more fun. I'd be happy to share the chosen skills of my previous H.E. build; although she only carried a weapon for the attributes it had and the sockets that were convenient, especially the Officer's Saber. (I would occasionaly hit an opponent, but merely by accident) So then, what's a good Arrant Pyromancer build, one that is well protected to the bitter end?

  9. Thanks for the suggestion Aegis. I suppose that the reason to add Exalted Wattior Focus is to speed regen time for that aspect, so the lady would in effect have two fast renewing specialized combat skill sets to work with. So, taking out Enhanced Perception, Bargaining, and Shield lore, then adding in Exalted Warrior Focus, Sword Lore, and Tactics Lore is what you feel would be a well-rounded approach to build a sturdy but fearsome fighting toon? That appears to be quite sound advice, indeed.

  10. Yes, Holy Prorection is a must for a defensible Seraphim along with with Artamark's Star and Stalwart Safeguard. I built a new Seraphim starting from the beginning thirty hours ago. She's now at level thirty and well on her way. I always obtain her huge moggy as soon as reasonably possible, so she's been riding since level 20. Forget about misspelling my user name, seriously, and good luck to you. Oh, and I think that it's wonderful how you and your hubby play Sacred 2 together, as I can think of few things more romantic than slaying Kobolds as a team in the Copper Peaks or knocking down a few at the Twitty Tister. Happy questing to you both; the fact that you enjoy such things together is a testament to your compatability with one another, Banshee.

  11. Ysne, I just began a new build with the only differences than the one which I described being that will end up without Bargaining and Enhanced Perception. I believe that I will employ Sword Weapons and Tactics Lore instead. It's strange that I started the build just before I read your post.

That's good to know Ysne58 although I am really impressed with Hooyaa's build for the Seraphim as she sounds invincible and I could certainly do with some of that the next time I build.

Thanks for the kind words, Banshee. Be seure to use Artamark's Star if or when it's dropped. I'm always happy to help.

  12. Banshee, there is an article on how to make your character god-like at Saced Wiki. However, once you have selected a skill, it's too late to turn back, unless, of course you are good friends with Dr. Who. I bulit a near-immortal Seraphim who has never had any resurrections, or close calls, and is at level 134/Platinum. I focused on defensive skills in order to make her more or less invulnerable. I will list the skills below which I used for her and that I recommend for you. Employing the following list, and using a good shield, armour which has max sockets for amulets first, then rings, and last runes, donning her too with armor with high physical and magic, fire, poison, and ice damage protedtion, you won't have to concern yourself with running out of health potions. The best chest armor for your lady is Holy Protection.

    WARDING ENERGY LORE

ENHANCED PERCEPTION (needed to aquire BARGAINING)

    CONCENTRATION

    ARMOUR LORE

    SHEILD LORE

    BARGAINING

    REVERED TECHNOLOGY LORE

    REVERED TECHNOLOGY FOCUS

    TOUGHNESS

    CONSTITUTION

By the time that you reach level 75 you should have WARDING ENERGY mastered. Arguably focusing on one's defensive skills first is best to avoid those nasty resurrections. Your mount should support Revered Technogy for better regen. It's better in my opinion to start over at Silver and get a build which will carry you all the way to the end of the Niobium level than to discover at some point that your toon is too difficult to manage. You may place all of your goodies in the shared chest to pass down to your new build and you may level up fairly quickly when starting in the Silver level. I hope that this helps.

  13. I stumbled upon an interesting web page that has English names for females and many of their meanings on the left side of the page. On the opposite side there is a translation into female names in Elven toungue. I finally settled on a name for my new Elven Arrant Pyromancer, Aranel Narylfiel Eruanna, which translates to, Princess Fire Brand Gift of God. I thought that many of you would enjoy checking this list out here: http://www.arwen-undomiel.com/elvish/girlnames.html

I do know the game rather well, so hopefully I will be able to contribute in a meaningful way. I also like anime and am a moderator on a site where members submit artwork and scans and talk about anime and manga. I'm from Texas and work as a client services consultant, aiding small to medium business by offering them ways to effectively market their enterprises and build exceptional websites. I look forward to getting to know you all better.
