  1. Yeah, the Griffon's debuffing is definitely annoying... between that and his stun, those are pretty much the only things that make him a challenge. I've had closer calls with some of the mobs near him than I have actually fighting him. Still, it's really handy that there's a portal right next to him, and he does seem to have some decent drops too.
  2. Haha! You challenged me to that last time I mentioned doing low level boss runs... didn't turn out so well for me. That guy makes my HP regen look pathetic! I'm not at all convinced that it's worth the time doing any kind of boss runs that early on though... the XP vs times spent fighting the boss is a total waste. I really just wanted to see how much of a difference GGT made... definitely convinced me anyways.
  3. So I just took on the Griffon with my brand spanking new level 3 Dryad. Killed him dead. Only took me... uh... somewhere in the neighborhood of 18 minutes. Yeah.... I started this character specifically to see how early I could take the Griffon on. At level 2, with no skill/attribute points spent and just the starting Bow + GGT, I was unable to do it. Lasted over 10 minutes against him, but wasn't quite enough. Restarted the character and this time, I used the Blowgun and Ravaged Impact that was included in the starting chest, as well as GGT (from my chest, I might add. I also wanted to see just how much survivability a 1st level, bronze modded GGT affords a very low level character. I could have just saved my runes and traded everything in for enough to buy the Combat Art, but that would have taken too long and I may have leveled up too much in the process.) Ran up to the Griffon's spot, leveled myself up to level 3 and then spent 3 points on Nature Weaver Lore so I could mod GGT with +HP regen (bronze "Flow" mod). Took Ranged Weapons as my level 3 skill pick. Put my 2 attribute points into Dexterity. When it was all said and done, I was doing a whole 31 to 39 damage (which was more like 10 to 25 against the Griffon) with an Armor rating of 4. Sitting at 180 hitpoints with 7 health potions and 19.2% chance to hit the Griffon... took me a long time to kill him! For all that work I got a measly 250 XP haha! Long story short: Any skill that singlehandedly allows you to take on bosses with 1,932 HP to your 180 HP, while dealing you thousands of damage... is probably a little bit unbalanced. Not that I'm complaining though. I like showing the Griffon whose boss!
  4. Well, I tried this cave out several times... I received fairly good magical items each time (picked up 3k+ at level 6 on average, each run). My only problem with it is the number of enemies is extremely inconsistent. Typically there are only 2 to 3 enemies (one regular and 2 champions). If it were the full 6 enemies like the first time I went through it, it might be worth grinding at very low levels... as it stands, it's okay for a few quick items, but that's about it.
  5. In case there are any Magic players out there that somehow missed this, the next set has it's first card spoiled over at Wizards of the Coast's site. Feast your eyes on this: Absolutely broken. They're already selling for $50+ per playset on Ebay... can't wait to see what the rest of the set is all about...
  6. It's all about Goldenglade Touch, my man. With a single mod point put into it to increase HP regeneration (the bronze "Flow" mod, specifically), taking on the Griffon is very much doable at low level. I probably could have taken him at an even earlier level; that's just how many levels I gained on my way to fight him. Of course, it takes a long time to drop him as my chance to hit him is so low, but it's a fun exercise in pushing the limits of a character. For reference, I was able to take on the Colossus at level 9 with my Shadow Warrior, also HC... so it's really not that bad. The death of my Dryad was preventable, as potion effects still go through even when I'm stunned. I was just being stubborn and trying to get some form of response from the game before I realized that I was stunned. Whoops...
  7. Title of the thread pretty much says it all. I just lost a new character to him (very low level... 7 in fact!) completely due to his stun attack. Not that I care too much about the character, as I was less than 2 hours in... just the experience of standing there mashing a button over and over again and having nothing happen... and then having to zoom the camera waaaay in close to see the little stars around myself to know that I'm stunned is a less than enjoyable experience. I'm of the opinion that, outside of cinematic or story related events, anything that takes control away from the character should be avoided as a game mechanic. It really just comes off as being a cheap way to make the game more difficult. Maybe that's just me though. /rant. Back to the drawing board for another HC character...
  8. Awesome! Thanks gogo! I just needed to be pointed in the right direction. Let the stabbing and shooting begin!
  9. Does anybody out there have or know of a comprehensive list of weapons whose damage is modified by Dexterity? I'm in the process of building a Dryad that will be specializing in both melee and ranged, and I wanted to focus on Dexterity as the main attribute... better for defense, and nice if everything uses the same stat. I'm assuming that sword weapons may be the best bet here? Specifically smaller weapons like daggers and short swords?
  10. Hmmm... increased visibility hey? Maybe not the best of set bonuses, but useful for getting the %map explored achievement... not something I'd really be chasing after though. Still, if the rest of the set drops I won't be complaining! Ha! Yeah, actually some of the people are pretty cool about stuff like that on Xbox Live... I once had a random guy join my party online and toss $100 million at me as well as a full set of high level socketed Inquisitor stuff... was pretty kind of him! I keep thinking about getting Sacred 2 for my macbook, running it on Windows through Bootcamp, and then just hooking my macbook up to my surround sound and HDTV... and then using my bluetooth mouse and keyboard for the full couch experience. Not sure if my macbook can handle it though... anybody tried this game on a recent laptop yet? Funny, I would have just assumed that you'd seen this before, gogo... not a huge fan of the seraphim eh? I can assure you, they're quite something if you build them right!
  11. Just got this from a Griffon run (only level 35 though)... Ridiculous! I need more from this set!
  12. Good to know, loco... I'll just keep my hopes (and %MF) up then...
  13. Oh yeah... Officers Sabers and all that. Totally forgot about that one. Why am I thinking this then? Strange.. maybe I just misinterpreted something somewhere in there.
  14. I recall having a conversation with somebody on the boards here about how there weren't any legendaries in Sacred 2 on console... but I don't recall if this was for a specific class or just in general. Obviously if there aren't any legendaries at all on console, that would totally suck! Can anybody clarify this?
  15. What the hell.....! From the photo description: "Four types of sausage, bratwurst, chorizo, ground beef, ground pork, diced ham, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, hickory smoked bacon, hot cappy, queso blanco, provolone and sharp cheddar, wrapped in sausage, bacon and cheese ball dough and baked. Then decorated with American, cheddar squeeze cheese and bacon strips." Good gawd... I think I just felt an artery clog!
  16. Welcome to the forums, Hornet! Glad to see some official presence here on the non-official forums!
  17. Ya, the restaurant that serves these things gives out awards and stuff for breaking records... a guy just broke the record for eating a 15 pound hamburger in 4 hours and 39 minutes. Not sure what he gets for his award, but hopefully it includes a package of toilet paper and a free cab ride home... poor guy. Haha!
  18. That really sucks, Knuckles! I hate those kinds of phone calls... although I don't really ever have to worry about them, as I've never received a phone call form work about anything (aside from when I was offered the job! )... Do you get paid overtime at least?
  19. So do I need to register on the other site was well, or can I sign in with my current account from here? That site is... oooooh... headache inducing! I love it haha!
  20. Hey, thanks a lot for explaining that Loco... definitely makes me want to put Bargaining and EP on all of my characters now! Edit: Just read the post that you linked, loco. That was probably one of the most concise and informative posts I've read in some time. Apparently I need to pay more attention to the other forum too!
  21. I would love to take a crack at FableII on PC.! Yeah, that modding scene for Fable 1 on PC was pretty decent, so it would be great to see what people could do with the sequel if Lionhead/Microsoft ever decides to port it over to PC.
  22. Wow... that's bloody scary! Hopefully the doctors can give you a rough idea of what's going on. Nothing worse than trying to piece it together in your own head and being more stressed out about it... Good luck! Get a lot of rest.
  23. Yeah, I had a Mac Mini hooked up to my LCD for the longest time... and then guess what? The HDD crashed! Imagine that! I have yet to pry it open and swap out the harddrive. I'm seriously considering buying a new one anyways (the GPU is so much better on the new units it's not even funny!) and then using my old one as a print server... but yeah. Gotta get it together one day. Yeah, they've been doing a ton of PC to console ports ever since the 360 launched, so hopefully they can go the other way too. There's a lot of very solid console exclusives that PC gamers should be able to play without shelling out even more money.
  24. Oh... and keeping in spirit of the thread, here's your requisite shot of poutine:
