  1. The set completion bonuses are higher at higher difficulties. As an example, the first bonus for the Devout Guardian/combat set is +6 all skills in Silver, but when you're in Gold it becomes +8 (& presumably it's +4 in Bronze), regardless of the level of the items or where you found them. Also, higher level items (& if they're found in higher difficulties) have higher stats (that applies to all items).

Every single set piece I've found is in Silver difficulty, since I haven't gotten to anything higher. When I originally recorded the set bonuses for Adornments of the Ancestors, the first bonus, Run Speed, was listed as +7.8%. After gaining a few levels with the characters, we happened to look at the bonuses again on the same item. It's now listed as +8.0%.

So there has to be some other variable besides just the difficulty you found the item in, right?

  2. So I've been recording set bonuses whenever I find a set piece, since you can see the full bonus list once you can wear 1 piece. However, the bonuses seem to improve as I level up. So, how can we represent them in the current tables in the set pages? I went back and started re-doing the stats and putting my clvl in the table, but that seems kinda lame.

Does anyone know how to calculate how they improve? I assume it is character level that determines it...

And how do we represent it on the wiki?

  3. A lot of people are asking about CA levels without penalty, we should have added more substantial info to the wiki.

We could add the stuff I already posted a few times, such as here. The maximum "without penalty" CA level can reach about 120 at char level 200 with high Focus. The most high real CA level you can get is about 200 (by reading a crapload of runes), though there is no limit to it (short of overflowing).

If anyone wants to verify it, be my guest :) I think this sort of stuff should be added to Notes section of the Aspect Focus page.

I made a separate page for Highest Spell Level Without Penalty, since there was a lot of info to cover. I also reworked the runes page into (I hope) more readable sections, and added a "See Also" section at the bottom of the CA page (since there's a lot of related info).

I've been collecting data points on highest spell level without penalty; I have about 30 or 40 now. Hoping to be able to derive some sort of solid formula relating it, focus level, and clvl.

  4. Oh nice idea Echelar. Can you link me to the template page you've created? :4rofl:

    http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Template:See_Also

If anyone knows how to do parsing in the template page to determine how many parameters we passed in so we can do something like:

    {{See Also|Page 1|Page 2|Page 3}} -> See also: Page 1, Page 2, and Page 3

... that'd be killer. If not, I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually.

Ok, I figured it out. It'll do up to 3 pages at once now.

The code for the template is a bit ugly, though :)

  5. Can anyone with the PC version check to see if riding a Horse mount removes all your buffs? Because it does on the 360 version.

Also, do Unique Mounts on the PC actually increase regen times by ~50%?

On the console, the unique mounts show up in the shop as +33% to all, -30% to aspect, but once you buy it, the + to all shows as ~50%.

Once we get this nailed down, it should go on the wiki somewhere.

  6. I was looking at inquisitor skills, and noticed this for the description of Soul Reaver:

"The essences of fallen corpses will rise and surround the Inquisitor. Whenever a fresh soul is raised, the duration of their stay is reset. Each additional soul grants a bonus."

I was going to change it to the description that's listed on the 360 version, which reads:

"Raises the souls of fallen corpses. These will surround the Inquisitor for a while before they disappear again. Each fresh soul provides an additional boost to the Inquisitor's attack and defense, as well as resetting the souls' lifespan."

However, I didn't know if you guys were trying to stick to the exact PC descriptions and such. What do you think about this (and other possible console differences)? Perhaps I should post if I find a potential difference between the wiki information and console version, and we can talk out how to deal with each case? I'm pretty sure there are some actual gameplay and numbers differences here and there that we'll need to deal with, too.

  7. yer welcome on the warm welcome :)

There is actually a catch all page for mechanic as they are being put together here by contributors:

    http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacre...and_Game_Basics

You can definitely add more to that page, and/or edit to make it better. As that page gets more crowded, we can break it off into singular pages and or own sections.

    :)

    gogo

Hey, new wiki contributor here too. I'm also very interested in game mechanics. Here's a few things I'd like to see answers to on the wiki. If nobody knows the answer, I can attempt to test them out.

    - How is maximum CA level without penalty calculated? It goes up with char level, and points in the relevant focus skill, but neither are 1:1. In fact, I don't see much notation on the wiki at all about maximum spell level, and penalties and such. We could probably put some more info in either the runes or CA page. Or perhaps make a separate page and link to it from both?

    - When you go over the maximum level, obviously the runes start adding partial levels. How does this progress? Does it eventually stop giving you benefits altogether at some point? (for example: if your max level is 20, can you still get the skill to level 200 with enough time and runes?)

    - What benefits or detriments are there from leveling up your mounts?

One other thing: On the combat & game basics page, there's a reference to a Chance to Hit Calculator, but no link. Does such a page exist?

Great work on the wiki so far; I'm looking forward to helping to make it better.
