  5. And for the final results, here it is, the completed dungeon. Vanguard Go here for the full 3D view of the model: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/d5aac552-ac4d-4620-b018-43b2f052930e/Vanguard-Dungeon-Level-Design-Concept
  6. Wow, such confidence in me and so many compliments from you Steve. I am almost speachless. Thank you from the very depths of my heart and soul. Well I certainly will give it my all, as the saying goes. I have come up with something maybe not new, but I do hope it will be different. I won't say what it is, as so not to spoil things, but I made and completed that before doing any work on the dungeon, an object for the yet to be made dungeon project that I will one day start doing. I am definitely going to add things I hope that will be most unexpected, but not completely outside the bounderies of D&D. As I definitely want to keep within the D&D aspect, as much as possible, but with just a few added tweaks that would or could be used in D&D but is either not seen or used too much. Something along those lines.
  7. I have been giving your suggestion a lot of thought Steve and wonderful words by the way. Fantastic. I have been hit by an idea and I would appreciate your feed back on this, before I start doing anything, and It certainly will be quite big, I am not sure just how big. I was wondering what if I were to do a dungeon design, in a similar fashion to the Sion Dungeon Project? Because doing a dungeon level that way, I will be able to control better how far apart the different eleements/sections will be from one another. The Sion Dungeon Project I am creating from, are based on Isometric view deungeon section images. I can still use my grid for doing similar, an isometric dungeon design, as the work surface of sketchup always starts up in the isometric view perspective. So actually, I will have a huge and better advantage doing an Isometric dungeon like design in 3D, because of this fact. What do you think?
  8. Picking up where I last left off from, pulling up all of the walls etc. of the Vanguard Dungeon Project Vanguard. Stage 5 As you will noticed, I have partially textured the dungeon layout, the reason for this, is so that I can have the room sections etc. clear for when I start to put and place furniture into the model, such as a chair, a table etc. Vanguard. Stage 6 The first room has been filled so far with a set of chairs a table and on each side of the wall, top and bottom, as see in the above image, is a 2D Model of a swords and sheild image, that image is courtesy of pdsgraphics.com I just merely turned the image into a 2D model, for the sole use of my Dungeon Project, there are other items to put and place inside of this rom, as well as all of the other roms, but this is just to give you a general idea of what you will see in the over all finished dungeon design with I hope, a few surprises thrown in there.
  9. Vannguard Stage 3 Here I have removed all of the squares and the guide textures, as I no longer need them, I have added an offset, to the over all layout, wich gives me the walls and rooms that will be 3D, once I pull up each part, using the Push/Pull Tool, what that basically does is pull a flat object up down or side ways into a solid 3D object, if it is too big, I can push back in, for teh desired size and width of the model, that I need, hence the name of the tool. Also at this stage, to draw lines as seen in the second image as so to make sections that I can individually pull up. Vanguard. Stage 5 Talking about pulling up flat shapes etc. The next step after adding an offset to the over all layout, I begin to pull up every section, while this part is time consuming, it is worth the while doing. I hope you all like what I hae shared and showed you so far? And I hope you all lookin g forward to steps 5&6?
  10. Thank you for your comment, Steve, I sincerely appreciate it. An even bigger grid? I have seen some dungeon maps with elements as you say close to one another, though I will see sometime next year about doing a much larger one, I would need to do two seperate big ones like the one shown here, first. Then put them together. It would have to be completely empty, simply so that it will upload to the Sketchup Warehouse, the last time I tried to upload something, a house with furniture, using models from the Warehouse, to furnish my 3D Home with, the file size was too big and it would not upload, so that tells me that there was an upload file size limit. I do not know if that has changged, because, if the file size is too big, there will be no way for me to share that model in 3D, other than take lots and lots of individual screen shots, which would be very time consuming and tiring, trust, me, I have already tried doing something like that once. So I will definitely try doing an even much bigger grid map and keep things spaced out, then see if by the time I have finished doing it, if it will upload or not to the Sketchup Warehouse. I really can't say any more fair than that. I was worried that my Tomb Raider Waterfall chamber model may not upload, but it did, the down point is that when using models from the warehouse, is they are all different KB file sizes which then adds to the over total of the model I am doing and thefore, the file size is going to be quite big, so I have to be careful, I hope this model I am doing right now will actually upload, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thank you also for saying that my early design concept looks good, wait until you see the next post, which is coming right up.
  11. I will be posting steps 3&4 of my Vanguard Dungeon Project. I would apperciate comments on steps 1&2 before I post stages 3&4. I know that there is not much to see in the beginning stages, but the full and complete layout is of my own making, I drew inspiration from two dungeon map images that I have, but I did not copy from them, other than the chasm part, but its not a complete copy nore is the lay out, similar yes, but that is where the similarities srart and end.

  12. Well, here it is at long last the start of what I hope will be epic. Please bare in mind before commenting, that the images shown here are purely the beginning stages and that the over all finished dungeon, I hope will amaze you all. Starting first from my original own made grid map, as you can see I have duplicated it and these two I will merge together to give me a much bigger grid map, I added onto it though slightly, as it felt like to me not to be big enough. 3D Grid Map/Vanguard Stage 1 The red squares of the second image indicate what is going to be paths/corridors, all of the squares in orange are going to be rooms. Again, may I please remind you, this is just merely the beginning stage, so right now Vanguard does not look impressive yet and I do plan for a change to fill each and every room, what with, I have not decided as yet. So this dungeon is going to be furnished possibly with tables, chairs, altars, etc. Or what ever my imagination can come up with. All credit goes to Steve/Hooyaah for suggesting that I try to do my very own grid map dungeon design and his encouragement to do one larger than the test dungeon that I did. Lastly all of the squares in blackish grey is going to be a chasm. Vanguard Stage 2
  13. Thank you Gogo, I have actually finished doing this dungeon. See (Sion Dungeon. Level 2) that I have posted here.
  14. Thank you Gogo, I really appreciate your words too, I am always up for a challenge, even if I should fail, at least I know that I have tried it. It is al lthat anyone can do, rather than say they are not very good at something, if it soemthing that they have never tried before, being creative is and always be my driving force, withuot that I would be so, so utterly and completely lost. May I ask you and this goes to Steve/Hooyaah too, would you be interested and respond to two music posts here should I do them, one is of me playing a variation of the Doctor Who Theme, alas not live from my bedroom, this mor to do with the fact that my concentration goes on me while playing keyboards/Synthesizers, and I end up doing it over and over again until I eventually get it right. I am not altogether sure why I lose my concentration in the way that I do so, I play be ear by the way and hope that you both know what I mean by that? I even mess up on pieces of my own music that I compose, which will be the second video post, of me playing a tune entitled SPECTRUM, it's the most newest one that I have done so far, but I have done other music videos that can be found on my YouTube Channel, I could do with subscribers, but more so people leaving me comments on my music videos, I have plenty of likes but not a single comment, it is a bit deperssing.
  15. Thank you Steve, much appreciated, I have no idea, I am sure that the BBC get idea proposals for Doctor Who on a regular basis, ore semi regular, either way. I honestly do not know, I am usually the one that says, you can't change the iconic look of the TARDIS. That said, it's been a police box or one type of a police box for so long, in my way of thinking, why not reinvent it, but only if the entire show needed a complete full reboot and it is in the context I have approached the subject matter of this particular Doctor Who Project as I do feel personally for me at least that the show has gone and lost it's way and if the BBC are not careful they will lose the vast majority of the Doctor Who fandom, I know that other people watch the show other than the fans, but fans on the whole do need to be appreciated and respected and my idea of changing the TARDIS is not out of disrespect, it's a challanging what if type of retelling and reimagining of the series, but keeping some elements of the original series in there and I know what you mean, I grew very fond of Tom Baker, as he was my Doctor, when I was growing up, but I soon became fond of the 5th The 7th, the short lived 8th Doctor, the 10th and the 11th Doctor's. Sadly no one actor can play the character of the Doctor for far too long, so the regeneration idea was a most fantastic one, without that, the series of Doctor Who I doubt would have lasted as long as it had done so and quite frankly it was the invention of the DALEKS that had saved the show, but sadly William Hartnell was getting too old etc. to play the part of the Doctor, so the idea of the regeneration also helped boost the show's longevity. I feel those two things, the doctor beign able to regenerate and the invention of the DALEKS is what truly helped the show to last for so long. But if the series is to survive in someway, then I do feel it will need to be reinvented in some form or fashion, the fans may not like the idea at first, but once they see that some of the original ideas etc. are still there, but with a new twist, I do feel they will accept the new format better. But I could be so wrong about that. I may stand a better chance of being considered as I am going to include image shots of my model TARDIS, the control room with a console. All I can realistically do is hope and see what happens.
  16. Thank you for gettin gback to me on this Steve, much appreciated. Well I will post two images at any one time, so that way not only you, but others here gets to see each stage and I am also up for any imput anyone may have, I do not mind any suggestions and I will see what I can do to incorporate that into the design phase of what I am doing and I agree, doing a much larger grid will allow me to do more etc.
  17. Thank you Steve, everything I do, I put my whole heart and soul into, this I do very naturally. I will keep the finished Project to add to my other 13 Doctort Who Projects, but this one, I might send the finished project to the BBC, just in case the current series of Doctor Who goes sideways, it's been far too politcal for me and I hope the next season will move completely away from that. It's actually not the first time I have reinvented the Doctor, I have done it before with my 13th Doctor Who Project, though the Gallefreyians in that one are a species called Calledonians and taking a cue from an old Doctor Who Episode: State Of Decay, vampires are involved, but they look completely different than the ones shown in that episode, they are more like the vampires as depicted in the Legacy Of Kain PS 2 Game. Anyway the Doctor in this project is in his 13 regeneration and is turned into a Vampire and from there on in he's a vampire throughout the entire 13 stores, but he does not not go around sucking poeples blood, etc. I have a lot of stories that started off first as hand written ones, as this was long before I got a computer. I still have them in leaver arch folders. I began writting in 1992 and have done at least 100+ stories all by hand, since then however, I have done all of my other stories on computer.
  18. Thank you Stve. Is that later commen tin erply to the next grid map dungeon, but larger, I am going to make? If I am reading and understanding that sentance right. If so, I am going to post a daily step by step making of that, unless you would prefer to wait and see the finished product? And it's okay if that is so, just please let me know, thank you.
  19. Thank you Steve, I am deeply touched by your words. Me and you share a similar mind set, as I do too, sincerely so, sometimes if I am not getting anywhere with something, I will leave it for a while and see if I can come back and look at it with a fresh or different perspective, that actualy works, as I have done that many times before. A good example of this is that I made a bit of a start on a specisl Doctor Who story project that reimagins the Doctor's Origins, the name of his planet and his species remain the same etc. only his and their appearance is differtent and also the outershell of the TARDIS, uusing the old Edinburgh Type Police Box instead of the Mackenzie Trench model that was used for the original Doctor Who Series. Anyway, I have done story No. 1, as I hope to one day do a full complete sreies, about 10 stories in total, which may not seem like much, but trust me, that is a lot for me, I once did a different Doctor Who Project that was 13 different stories long, which made up that entire length of that particular project. I have no other ideas at the moment, but I am not going to give up on doing that, also the fact that I have gone to the lengths of making a model of said Police Box that is the TARDIS, as well as a model of the TARDIS Console and the TARDIS Control Room. The good thing about this particular project, is that I am in no real hurry to get it completed, so when I have the creativeness to do the next set of stories, that is when I will do them. It would be a real shame should I give up sometime further along the the way, I am not going to let that happen, I have invested so much into the project already, somehow, someway, I will finish it, as long as it takes to do so. The same thing goes for this second try at doing a dungeon map from a grid map, but bigger. I will make a small start on that today as I have some ideas, so I may as well get to work onthose ideas while they are still fresh in my mind.
  20. I was going to post this yesterday, but I got too tired; Sion Dungeon. Level 2 For a full and complete 3D veiew, go here: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/84ee1c89-526f-4463-8fe4-8450013acb73/Sion-Dungeon-Level-2
  21. Thank you Steve much appreciated. I will make a start on a larger grid map and see how things go from there. I have just finished doig Level 2 of the Sion Dungeon, I will be posting the completed model here, shortly.
  22. Sion Dungeon Level 2 (Under Construction) Which means this model is subject to change if I should need to change it in any way. So please bear this in mind before leavign a comment pplease, thank you. I do hope yuo all like what I have done so far. The linking pathways that link up to each dungeon section is completely of my own design.
  23. I have begun work on the next level for my Sion Dungeon Project and I wanted to share with you all here how it currently looks, as well a chance to see how my models start off like in sketchup before textures are added. Giving Credit where credit is due. The first 3 images below here belong to Niklas Wistedt. Temple Of Gozer, the Gozerian The Malign Lock Of Abaddon Tomb Of The Dire Knight And His Retinue
  24. Thank you for understanding Steve and for encouraging me to try and do something different and I am definitely up for trying new things etc. I will pretty much give almost anything a go/try and If I turn out not to be good at it, at least I know that I have tried and trust me I will do more than try once. I nearly almost did not give sketchup a chance, when I was getting frustrated with not being able to do a TARDIS for the very first time, my first attempt ended up loooking like a child had made it, it was so basic and child like if you know what I mean? I knew that I could do much better than that and that I needed to get used to the different tools for making 3D models in Sketchup, see how they work etc. My greatest strength, is observation, I learn greately from the things that I observe from, because I pay real close attention to what I am doing wrong as well as the things I am doing right and from that I find solutions to many problems that I have come across during my time spent using sketchup. I keep going, I very rarely give up if I do not know how to do something, I only will stop should it prove that I am truly getting nowhere and I need to move onto something else, but at least I will always try something, more than just once, because the chances are, that I may not get it right on my first go, or my second or my third, I aim reasonably for out of ten times, just to be sure it's something that I really can't do, there is always going to be a chance that I might be able to that something, whatever that may be, I always at least, try something 10 times. I do not know what that says about me, I can only hope though, that it is a good thing?
  25. Thank you Steve, well this was just a test to see if I could do a dungeon map from just a grid. I plan to do a much larger scale dungeon design, though I will take my time with that and I also have my Sion Dungeon Project to do, using 2D Dungeon Section Images to copy from, but not a direct copy, I am in a way a copy artist, if you know what I mean? They had a whole team of them for the Marvel Comics, but those people had to be able to copy the exact same style of the leading comic artist, where as I like to change things, because I do not like the idea of stealing someone elses work, I only copy when I can't imagine stuff, my imagination comes and goes. The Tomb Raider. Special Tomb Game level design, while I had built a pervious model, the whole thing was still completely form my own imagination, when it's really that good, it's rare, honest, I had a clear image in my mind of how the tomb looked, but I had no idea if what I saw in my head, if I could make that into a full 3D Model, sometimes I can control my imagination, but not often, like when Ben needed me to come up with the replacement duel wield combat arts for the Huntresss Character, I was able to place my mind in creative mode, it's hard to describe, I can place my mind into a sort of altered state, where I can draw from that my creative aspect, the down side to doing this though, it's exausting, so I do not do it often. I hope that helps and makes sense, sorry in advance if not.
