So sorry for the late reply Gogo. Thank you ever so much for the comment by the way. I was also at first a little confused by the refrence you made about the tube coming down from under the mouth. Yes it does look like that. Though I had never given that part of the neck that much thought. It is long and it really does look like a tube. But like I said, back then when creating this, any mistakes that were made, rather than trying to correct it. I just did a work around with what came out. If I were to try and do the same image now. In all honesty, I would end up going through several sheets of paper or card, just to get everything as near perfect as possible.

True, I wanted what I was doing to be my best ever work possible, the only real problem was that I pretty much did not want to ruin my work by trying to over correct it. Anyway, the Lady has a long slender neck of which the odd looking pendant around her neck may look as though it is a part of the neck itself but that was not the actual intention. It is funny that you said his face, when the face of what I had drawn is female in nature. Not that I am saying that it is not male either, but when it came to naming my art work Lady Of The Night,  that was what had come to me and so that is what had stuck. In a twist of irony however, like I said, the face was supposed to be that of Brandon Lee with the Crow Make-Up on. That of course did not turn out to be the case and the male features had taken on the form to that of a female like one, though not deliberate, but I kept it the way that it came out.

I am not upset that you see a male face, just if that is the case. And not to wory if you meant her instead of of his. Art to a point is subjective to the person looking at it, if I have gotten that right? My apologies if not. I know for sure that abstract art is very subjective to what a person sees. This said, I honeslty do no tmind if you or anyone sees a male or a female face. It even could be gender neutral, the gender of the face doesn't really matter and if you want to call my art work Man Of The Night, good on you. I'm happy though with what I have named it and I would not want to change that for all the world.

I'm glad that you like the gif. I was trying to find one with an actual cukoobird in it, I found one, but the file size was too big and I was not at all too sure if I were to make the gif (Animated) Smaller in order to reduce the KB size, if the gif would still animate. I forget now the size limit here for images, but I do always try to keep in mind not to use images that are too big in KB size. Anyway I saw this gif and I just simply had to use it. It's way too funny not to share.

  3. Before I post the image. I need to explain the origins behind it. Sometime back in my mid twenties, or there abouts. Sorry that I cannot recall my exact age at the time I started work on the picture that you are about to see. I know for certain that I was in my twenties when I did it. For the life of me, I simply cannot remember the exact age I was, when I had created the artwork. Way long before I got into doing 3D Models. I loved to draw, mostly copy draw. Example: Copy an image of a Superhero: Superman. But I did come to learn how to draw things from my own imagination and as unusual as this may sound to you. I used mostly felt-tip pens and permanent pen markers as my medium to work with instead of oil paints.

Crayons were okay to a point, colouring pencils too. But on the whole, I simply liked the vibrant colours of the felt-tip pens more than anything. I really can't say why. I know that might sound odd. But then again, I'm a very odd kind of a person. But do not let that put you off me, I can't help being odd, I was simply born that way and it is a very intrinsic part of my very nature. So please don't judge me. Okay, with that all out of the way. Here is what lead to the moment of my completed artwork, befoer I show it to all of you here.

First off. The movie The Crow had just been released and I was very taken back by the movie poster that I saw on display. Which I think was this one.

    1-423311347.thumb.jpg.5e72a8d74da5ba9ce057ca93b3fb720b.jpg

    The Crow: Movie Poster

Anyway, I saw the movie and I absolutely loved it. I loved the face make up of the character Eric/The Crow. I had a movie magazine with a picture of Brandon Lee in his Crow Make up. This is what inspired my art work.

    845384223_BrandonLee.TheCrow..jpg.6064bd6d9544b4ee9c4edc807d07db0b.jpg

    Brandon Lee: Crow Make up.

At the time I did not have any A4 sized art paper, but I did have three medium sized pieces of blank card, which I had intend to use them individually at the time, but I was stuck as with what to draw on them. Just then I got a sudden idea. What if I draw the face of the Crow. The pieces of card was not big enough for what I wanted, I can't remember their exact size now, sorry to say. I wish I had made a note of when I did the artwork and the size of the pieces of card that I used. And Yes, I decided to use all three of them, by gluing all of them together, to make one big canvas, if you will. I first started out drawing what was going to be originally the image of the actual crow bird from the movie, but I thought, would it not be cool if I could somehow use that image and make it seem to blend in with the Crows makeup. But trying to do the wingspan of the actual crow bird did not turn out as I had hoped it would, by this time however, I had drawn a faint outline of where the head was going to be and I really did not want to rub out my mistake.

Rubbing things out drawn in pencil can have it's drawbacks, marks of where I had previously drawn, once rubbed out. However, show up and I really did not want that, as I wanted the picture to be my best piece of artwork ever made. I had only ever done a few drawings at best. About 4 pictures in total, as best as I can recall now, sorry my memorry is not quite what it once used to be, it's partly because of old age I guess, but for the most part, I feel that my problem could be tied in someway to my mental illness, some, but not all of my memories are jumbled up, or gone missing, for whatever reason. I have worked very long and hard to try and retrieve those missing memories to the best of my ability to do so. Sadly some of them are still missing and unfortunately I really can't aford to go and see a hypnotist to help me to try and recover those memories.

I consider myself very lucky of the things that I can actually remember and to be able to remember them very well. Anyway, I thought to myself, maybe I can work around the problem that I had. I did just exactly that, though the top part of the head had become a helmet. But I wasn't about to try and change it, so I carried on, I did the nose and then the lips, it was not until I had finished drawing them that they had taken on a feminine form, which was not what I had intended to do. Yes, my drawing was not going quite the way I wanted it to go. But a partof me felt like, what the heck! Just carry on what I am doing and see how the whole thing turns out. It was an odd thought to be sure, but I went ahead and I began to work on doing the hair coming out from underneath the helmet, then for reasons unknown to me, I had decided to draw a sort of pendant around the neck of the face that I had drawn.

Please don't ask me why. My imagination was on a whole different level at the time. I first tried to colour the hair in perminant black ink, but both of my permanent markers ran out during the colouring process. There was no way to correct what I had already done of course. So I had to cover it up. I tried using black wax crayon. But the crayon kept breaking and falling appart, same thing happned when I had to use a skin tone like colour wax crayon for the face. Which I will explain shortly. The coloured in crayon parts was a literal mess. I thought there and then that my entire artwork was completely ruined. But I just remembered that I had some spare plain black card, for some reason. If I recall corectly, I had gotten for some odd reason, 3 sheets of plain white card, 3 sheets of black and 3 sheets of red card. I have absolutely no idea what I had in mind to use them for. Anyway, I had the fantastic idea to cut the shape of the card out, to match the outline of the hair that I had drawn and coloured in and glued thw two pieces of black card over the hair pieces.

I had done the face in pencil colour at first, but the colour did not seem to stand out too well to me personally, so I went over that with a near skin tone colour for the face instead. I did the outline of the lips with a red ink pen and coloured them in with a red pencil. I then coloured the pendant yellow, though I could have gone for a gold coloured marker pen. But for some reason I chose yellow for the colour of the pendant and an odd one it is too. But that was the whole point of it. Why? Like I said, my imagination was on a whole different level. I did the background next using only permanent marker pens to create a sort of aura around the characters head. I went for a spiky like affect, as that seemed ot me to be a good idea at the time. I used a felt-tip pen for the eyes and to my horror, I had coloured over what was meant to be the white of the eyes. I could not undo it, the only thing that I had was a Tipp-Ex Jar/Correction Fluid. So I took the brush out of it, trimmed it as so it was as near to being pencil thin like, because I was going to let the liquid drop down onto the eyes and I did not want the Tipp-Ex to come out as one huge white blob.

I had to hold my hand steady and carefuly aply the Tipp-Ex to the eyes. To my reliefe, small white blobs came out and they formed a small solid round ball. Which by accident, only looking at the picture after finishing it. The small ball like typex gave the white of the eyes an almost 3D like effect.

To which I was completely blown away by. To which I hope you all agree with that statement, though it is difficult to see that effect in the photo. I honestly tried to get a better picture of my artwork since the original photograph of it had been taken. But for reasons I do not know why or understand, no matter what I did, the image simply would not turn out right. It was blurred with every shot that I tried to take and I even used the Auto feature on my talbet which means it would use auto features built into the camera, like focus and contrast, etc. But no, just plain no. The image kept coming out as badly blurred at best. So there was only one last thing that I could do. Which was to make a copy of the original photograph that I had taken of my completed artwork and try to improve the quality of the photograph as best as possible. You be the judge, I will include here both the Improved version of the photo and the original photo.

For me personally, the as near to it, as possible, improved version is better, yes it looks darker in contrast, simply because the artwork is behind glass and I can just about be seen through the reflection of the glass. (See Original Photograph) The colours also look a bit faded too. In truth felt tip colouring is bound to age a lot more than oil paint. With that said, it is my deepest hope to one day have the picture taken out of its frame and for me to try as best as possible to restore the faded colours, if it is at all possible.

    Airport crash -> emergency

    😀

    gogo

Ah, I get it now. Sorry, my bad, I was stuck with what to come up when Chattius put airport crash as his answer. Silly me thought that part was part of his explaination of the word I had just given and I'm a bit stuck on Emergency right now, the only thing that I can think of is exit. But I haven't had my coffee yet and it is 05:54am for me here in the UK. Though I'm not usually awake at his time in the morning. Would Exit count?

    Emergency -> Exit

I have just had my coffee but that senctance does not seem to make sense to me. Don't worry, I'll take a shot at the next word if I have got that one wrong and I hope to have my brain in gear by then. Unfortunately it's stuck in reverse right now. *Lol.*

PS. It's almost 6am. It just turned that just now.

When at naval flying wing we weren't allowed to remove our protection gear even a fire would be extinguised. The fuel which may be in air as a spray is very dangerous to health when inhaled. Got my driving license for trucks on a 6 wheel driven beast which could reach 100km/h from stand in 45 seconds with a water/chemical mix of 6 tons.

    Cool and thank you Chattius

Perhaps an interested company would provide such council, gratis, were you to consider a marketing option for your proposed product, Miss Amy.

Thank you Steve. We call them Solicitors. (Lawers is stil Aremican based. Oopps, sorry about that) over here in the UK. Sorry to say that there is something else that prevents me from working. It is a personal and private matter. I mean I wish I could get paid for my ideas etc. As that to me is not exactly me working. I am just getting paid for something that I have created. If I am understaanding that correctly and sorry if the matter is not as simple as that. I have just suddenly remebered something. people on benefits are alowed to earn some extra money, but it cannot go over a certain amount. That said, someone like me should I want to earn extra money, it would look like to the people that pay me my benefits that I am not as unwell as I make myself out to be. Even though that is not the case, but these peopel follow very strict rules goverened by the UK government and they frown down upon people claiming benefits with illnesses such as mine that need to earn extra money. I am lucky that I can split the household bills with my roommate. Otherwise I definitely would not be able to manage all of them all on my own. And even those half bills leaves me with just about enough to support me for the two weeks that my benefit is meant to last for. Though sometimes, depending on what it costs me to go shopping online, as I am unable to physically go to the suppermarkets, neither can my roommate. There has always been an increase in prices. Now, even more so due to the crisis that we are in. In short, sometimes I do not always have enough money left over.

I hope and feel that even peopel that are in paid work end up in a similar situation to me. I mean not having enough money left over for things. So how can anyone expect someone like me do any better, I have no idea. The personal problem that I have, there is no cure for and it can't be treated medically. That is as about as much as I am willing to say on the matter. I'm on benefits for life. I'm not happy about it, but that said, there is no other better alternative. I trully wish that there was. I hope that you are able to understand my situation. It is okay if not, as I honestly do not expect anyone to be able to understand the situation.

I understand and sympathize with the fact that everyone has a different emotional sensitivity. However, most people do appreciate recognition for their accomplishments and desire such validation and a sense of purpose.

I'm sure that you have been in a busy public place where there are crowds of people passing by a lovely statue (or other work of art) and all of them seem oblivious to its beauty. We humans get caught up in our day to day routines and often become insensitive to the beauty all around. What is important in life, is to do what you love and do it with all that you have within you. If someone takes notice or you find a way to profit in some way, then find a blessing in that. For, we all search for a purpose and meaning in our lives; I hope that you find happiness and fulfillment in your life in this way also. Always aspire to be the best that you can be. Vincent van Gogh was not recognized in his lifetime, yet his works are now considered among the most beautiful and ingenious oil on canvas paintings ever created. I hope that you learn to be proud of what you do and when you find one or more others who admire your work, enjoy such a true, wondrous blessing.

Wow! Such words of wisdom you have there Steve and I really appreciate your understanding of my sensativity and you nailed it on the head. About the need for validation and a sense of purpose. Though I do not want that to come off in the wrong way and for people think or feel that I am trying to be the center of attention. I want to assure anyone that, that is not at all the case. It is sad for me to say truly so that much of my life no one really appreciated me, that alone affeted me both mentally and emotionally. Although I have come a long way since then, I do not mind admitting that I still have yet a long way to go. But I am at least trying to get there and that is all that anyone can do, is but to try and do their best. Yoda would not be happy with that *Lol* "Do or do not. There is no try."

A nice quote but not entirely practical, beause, as you said, a lot of peopel go through their own struggles in life and all that they can do is but to try to get through those very struggles. I do aspire to be the best that I can be, I think that we all strive to be the best verison of ourselves in life. It is my geninuine hope that one day I will find a way to get off the unployment pay support sytem, but they do not make it easy, any hint of anyone on benefit earning any extra amount of money immediately gets their benefits stopped, or cut down in payment. In short, if I did or could start to earn any money, that I would have to have more than enough money to be able to support me for the rest of my natural life, from the get go and that there is simply not possible or even remotely practicle, sad to say that is the way things are. Yep, life sucks.

    Great journey you're on.

I remember stargate when it first came out, in fact I remember perhaps even going to see the movie?   Loved how they envisioned the gate being so liquidy and always loved those symbols around the portal.  nice work with your capture here

    :)

Thank you Gogo, I really appreciated that. The hardest part was chosing a suitable texture. Obviously I could not pick anything in black as the symbols then on the gate itself would not be visible. I chose a Sci Fi metalic texture, I was worried that I had chosen the wrong one. I know that in the Movike and series the gates are made out of a mineral. But I was not at all entirely sure if using a mineral texture would have worked on my model.

  9. Hi there my fellow members. I just wanted to share with you all here another one of my models and I do hope that you all like it. I did this about last year ago. I love the Stargate TV Series. Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. Anyway, my model is based on the Stargate SG1 TV series stargate. I got creative with the texture of the stargate and I hope that you like it. I know that it is not close to the TV Series one. But I had to make a compromise as I could not find the exact texture for my model.

    HI SheHawk!

I saw that you had mentioned in your marvelous chess 3d creation topic

That you were not getting email notifications... I saw this a while back and had to hunt down the reason for this and today... the reason!  ... There were interminatbly huge delays a wee while back (time goes by so quickly.. I guess a few years ago!) And we spent weeks looking for the issue and it turns out that our set up was causing the forum to do a list of things in a preset queue before it would allow a post to complete (minutes in fact).  Schot eventually found the culprit (but at the cost of our sending out email notifications for now) .  Hopefully one day this can be amended.

Welcome back, Amy! It seems that lately most members have has their own life challenges and assorted reasons for not posting as of late. One should never take a lack of replies to a post as negative feedback. Although, it's understandable that you would appreciate some comments after all of the fine work you did as evidenced above.

I admire the design of the pieces and the board is designed quite suitably as well. The rooks are especially interesting, as they would possess a low center of gravity, if produced. Perhaps, the whole set could be designed with that feature in mind so as to make it well suited for travel. Some company might wish to produce and market such a set with magnets on the bottoms of each piece and  an accompanying magnetic board. It would be a great boon for Chess enthusiasts on the road in a car, train, plane, or even at a campsite. It's apparent that you have a creative mind and love putting it to use. So, why not profit from your talents?

Best wishes to you and may your health issues be resolved soon. I have been following the sound advice I have seen on the YouTube videos of Dr. Eric Berg and am healthier than I have been in years. I have also lost almost all the weight that I wanted to. I haven't far to go now. I hope that life shares some pleasant surprises with you too and very soon. Don't be a stranger here, Okay? :JC_wanted:

Thank you so much Steve for your comment and I really do appreciate that. And I truly do understand that others here most certainly have their own individual problems. Though like you said, it is good to have feedback, where it can be given. We all need feedback in our lives as so best to help us all better ourselves from feedback. We can observe from others, but not learn completely from just observation alone. Feedback from one pefrson to another is equally important. Thank you, I like the rooks too. I thought about doing them original to how the image of the rook is shown in the line up. (Chess Pices Image) But a part of me had a sudden thought. 'What if I was to make the whole rooks rounded insteaad' and that is of course what I went with. Just in case if you are interested I used a tool in Sketchup, called the Follow Me Tool

    900418644_PawnProcess1.thumb.jpg.927d4c07f282aa06b68858c5c959394f.jpg

Follow Me Tool. Pawn Process 1

It is okay if you have never heard of this tool before. I have never used it that much before, I tried to use it once, but could not get the hang of it at first until I began to look up a lot of tutorials on YouTube that demonstarate on how the tool works. I am glad I had watched them. I have been able to make a fountain and a bookcase using this tool. As you can see in image 1 there is a half drawn Pawn Piece, drawn directly from the Chess Pieces Image. Only actually one half the pawn and all of the other pieces need to be drawn. (All Except for the Knight) The circle that you see will eventually be deleted and the base for the chess piece gets added later. For now I have just highlighted the outer side of the drawn circle, as that is all that is needed, this acts a guide for the Follow Me Tool to follow. I forgot to mention I select the tool and place it on the half drawn pwan chess piece after selecting the path for the Follow Me Tool to follow and the moment I click on that tool, the half shape gets magically turned into a fully 3D form. That there within itself simply amazes me that it can do that and that I am grteful for the fact that it can do so.

Follow Me Tool Pawn Process 2

As you can see by image 2 that there are lines going all the way around the pawn. I first create the base for the pawn to sit upon and then I smooth out those lines.

    419759449_PawnCompleted.thumb.jpg.8c7aa03f8a52f64c1e47bc43b6dc4237.jpg

    Pawn Completed

What I end up with after doing all of that is what you see in the Pawn Completed Image. Only The knight was not done in the same way as the other chess pieces. Actually I never would have thought about showing my design to a chessboard making company. I like and love your suggestion to make the chess pieces magnetic and the chess board to be made of metal for the magnets to stick to. I would love it if I could make money from such an invention. My only real concern is that I am currently on ESA (Employment Support Allowance) In the support sector of that, here in the UK, as I have long term mental illness among other health problems that prevent me from ever doing work. Anyway, I get free meds and treatments at the hospital. I know that there is private health, the drawback with that, is, if one is rich enough, they can afford any amount of medical bills. At least that is how I think a private hospital would think in such ways. I hope I am wrong about that, sadly in today's world, money seems to be everything and that lots of people are simply greedy for it. So even if I could afford Private Medical care, for me personally I would not want have to overly pay too much for such a privilage. Because if it costs too much, then it really is not a privilage at all.

PS. I nearly almost forgot. I will do my best to not be a stranger here. I will see what else I can share here with you all.

*Hugs* Thank you so very much Steve. You're awesome and very much appreciated. Oh one last thing. Can you or gogo look into the matter of my not getting any notifications please if it is not too much to ask for. I'm still not getting any.

  12. Hello Gogo. Did I say something wrong? I hope I have not offended you in anyway. I just genuinely wanted feedback about my model, it helps to have feedback. It looks like you are the only one to have made a comment. Is evreyone all busy or something? Sorry to ask, it just that I have noticed a drop in people commenting on my posts and I sincerely want to know if I have done or said anything wrong that has stopped them from leaving me comments. I sincerely apologise in advance for anything I have done or said. I do most sincerely want to try and do my best to support this site by sharing my models here. I wish I had more to say about Sacred 2 as I really do appreciate that this is what this site is Primarily for. I honestly can't really bring anything new to the game or share any kind of a discusion to do with it, beyond my own ideas for alternative characters and my own personal expereince that I have had with the game, which I have not played in a very long time due to my health issues. I'm looking foward to getting back to playing the game, though I do wish that there was more that can be done in the game. Modding aside that is, if I could mod, I would make some of those islands around the Seraphim Island to be explorable with monsters to fight. There is only 2 things that I can think of right now that I would like to discus about the Sacred 2 game, though I am unsure to mention them or not, just in case the two topics have already been talked about. But those two things that I have mentioned are the only things I have that are at least related to the game. I have nothing else further to add. I wish I could add more or do something that would help, or at least I hope it helps this site. One last thing, I no longer get email notifications from this site when someone reesponds to my posts. I'll understand if I have been taken off the mailing list, since I have been inactive for so long and I am even sorry about that, I truly am. I truly love this site and want to be to the best of my ability to do so, be a contributer to this site, in the best way, as much as possible. I'm sorry if I seem to be failing in that regard.

Thank you so much for your comment Gogo, you really made my day. It is good to be back after so long. I tried to play chess once, but I wasn't very good at it. You did not say, but do you like the whole chess board? It took me some time to do each individual chess piece and to duplicate the ones that needed duplicating and then placing them on the chess board in the correct way. I used a chess set up refference image for that, as I was not too sure of the back line up, I knew that the Rooks/Castles go at each end, it was the placement of the bishops, knights, the king and queen I was not all too sure about. So I am very glad to have that refference image.

  14. I wish to sincerely apologise for not posting in such a long time, due to health problems that I have been having, which has taken a long time for me to sort them all out and that is what I have been up to since I last posted here. I ask that you please be gentle with me with your comments, I really would apperciate that and please do leave me comments, I would really appreciate that too. I have been learning new ways to do things in Sketchup Make 2017, that I did not know about until I watched many Sketchup Tutorials on YouTube, one of them was about how to make chess pieces and I immediately got hooked. I thought to myself. 'Yes, I could do that and also make my very own chess board.' I did look for images of different chess boards and I decided to make one of my own creation. The only thing I needed was an image of all of the different Chess Pieces.

I did the chess pieces first, one of each first and then I made the actual chess board

I duplicated the chess pieces that needed to be duplicated and placed them on the board itself, for the main surface of the board itself, the black and white checks, I used an image refference. However, after importing the image into Sketchup, I drew all of the squares so that I could repaint over the checkered board, as you can see why, not only that, but I thought that black and white marble textures would also work better.

I know and realize that the black pieces are not a perfect black collour, when I tried to use one, all of the details of the chess pieces could not be seen properly, I tried varies shades of black until I found one that help to keep the deatails in view, so please do not point out that the black shade is wrong, for this reason, please. I wanted to keep the details of the chess pieces to be visable, I hope that you all understand that. If you wish to play with someone else, I'm playing on ps3 everyday, you can add me nikydarklord

Thank you for the offer Nikydarklord. Please do not take offense, I like and love playing completely solo. I have always been a single player in console games. The only other time I have played a game with someone, has been been with my good friend Patrick, playing World Championship Snooker 2007 on the PS2. But that's about it. I'm not likely to break out into co-op play with anyone on any one game. Personally for me, it would not feel right, due to being a single solo player for so long. I hope you can understand that?

Amy, happy to see you again, and even happier to read that you still indulge with this little game. It's been such a hard year for so many of us, but seeing old acquaintances visit us again on these boards is heart warming and welcome

Hello Gogo, I'm happy to see your comment. I hope that you have a most wonderful Christmas and a happy new year. I'm being the Seraphim and so far she's coming along nicely. I have a good feeling about this build. I have her at level 40 and I am doing the bronze campaign. I'm near to the end of it, I just have the Dryad Lands and the Waste Lands to do and then I will be on the Silver Campaign. I hope to reach Niob with her, but I will have to see how things go, wish me luck.:hugs:

I hope you're still playing, and that you've mastered Niobium.

    Best regards

I am still playing the game slowly on my PC, I am playing mostly on the PS3 and I have not yet reached Niobium level on either my PS3 on on the PC yet. But I will eventually get there in the end. Thanks for the comment.
