I saw it in my games shop.
To be honest I was a bit underwhelmed by it. It is a real resource hog so make sure you have a beefy pc.
I found the alchemy system very cumbersome and unfortunately its a major part of the game. There is no inventory auto sorting of any type and it is really necessary to have.
The combat system can be very unresponsive which just leads to frustraing times and frantic mouse clicking.
The story was good but suffers terribly (at times) from bad translation. This game could have been a great rpg but the flow of the conversation gets broken with the translation.
example:
quest giver "will you do this quest for us?"
Geralt "I will think over time"
quest giver "then that is made a great contribution"
Geralt "tomorrow will tell"
I mean...huh?
But, overall I did enjoy it. The basic story of a witcher is a very interesting one. The voice acting is mainly superb and the graphics outstanding (use first person perspective to fully appreciate them)
The game play suffers a bit with the clumsy inventory and alchemy system and the combat system while not bad, could do with improving.
But apart from the negatives there are a lot of positives about the game.
I usually don't finish games as I get bored with them however I finished The Witcher but it will be some time till I want to play again (and there are reasons to play again due to different endings and story-lines)
7/10
