we've exchanged few pm's in ogame. read about you on darkmatters though
I'm with dark for few months now, played a bit more than a year on another account, started from scratch and ended among top120 and got offer to take over gintu's old account.
so getting myself acquainted
with crews of all those heavy ships I've inherited

I have a Vista home premium on my laptop and do not have a lot of complains .... except one .... its sucks!
its also a problem to connect to a network at work (using another computer there).
for business purposes xp still rules, no question about it.
haven't played a lot with vista, but had problems with performance so far (running 2.o Mhz, dual core, 2GB RAM)

I have to agree with Ari on the pizza thingy
u dont eat it when the cheese have turned hard and yucky. what is good is the leftovers you can reheat to the way it was first time
like spag or pastaI share the opinion on pizza!
I like lef overs if cabbage backed in an oven ... you have to reheat it at least couple of times before it gets the best taste ... like on third day

1. Is the modem itself connected to a LAN cable, or ADSL or anything? Or is it wireless?
2. Doesn't Vodafone know what areas are bad to sell their equip? Here in Holland there are very few places you cannot have Internet, but it is divided as to what provider you can have.
modem connects directly to a computer - USB cable.
I have bad signal, I'm living on a very edge of the city, near forest ... also have problems with phone call ... they really do not know how to build a network .... they are using two cells (bi-sector antenna) on the nearest base station instead of three sectors are they should have (I've worked for mobile operator few years ago).
tried it on a boat off the coast today and it did not worked either :/

We have a dual type router here: both LAN and wireless. Our modem is provided by our ISP and it's a single LAN connection.
As far as I know, USB type adapters don't really work that well, you'd be better off getting a PCI card for wireless internet on the desktop, because they have better reception(?) but when the new modem is near to the desktop the USB thingy will be fine...
just tried to get my modem working ... it refuses to
seem signal is too bad where I live ... I think I might go to vodafone and make them eat it without salt and pepper

just bought a wireless (usb) modem today ... its going to be used by may parents on their desktop ... will have to test it today.
hmmmm - had to order another one in as card version for my notebook ... ...
vodafone package .. 19 eur/month for unlimited access.
does anyone has any experience with it or with something similar?

BSG was my favourit TV series as I was kid, it aired on Sundays at five in our country my my parents could not believed that I was home - voluntarily - in the middle of the day instead of being outside playing with my buddies.
They started to show the first episodes of the new BSG few months ago ... but I was lucky before that .... I have managed to get my hands on complete season I, II and III while I was in Indonesia on a honeymoon.
stories and characters are splendid and producers have managed to pack everyday problems into a "space" package.
and the canadian robo girl (tricia helfer) is a bomb

I adore Indy movies ... but unfortunately I will not be able to see this one in a cinema :/
but I hope to get a dvd as soon as its going to be available. and I'll try to keep myself from watching trailer too ... do not wants to ruin a surprise!

I agree about the Ringu ... (the ring) have both version .... a bit nasty to watch it alone!
someone mentioned The Omen .. a sequel to the exorcist ... it was filmed in a dutch town of Omen ... and some serious accidents happend during the making of the movie.

haven't had other contact with dark so far if I exclude some pms exchanged with Ike when he managed to rescue some df stranded in an open space 3 seconds after it was created (2s before my own recyclers arrived). he has lanxed gintu's incoming 1667 (from far away) and launched on time ... what I got from him later on was his recipe for building up moons.
Hmmm, gosh, not sure if I even recall such an event, were it to have actually happened . . . and it was less than 3 seconds BTW.
I don't think I realized it was Gintukas that sent the LF though. Huh. Perhaps if I had realized that I would not have allegedly nipped the DF.

hehe ... I think your sheeps painted on those recy's of yours were running too fast, you couldn't have stopped them even if you knew that incoming gintu's LF's would finish as a debry

some of you have perhaps noticed my name in U9 in the past year - I've been playing in U9 for around 13 months as a "kunstler", rank 130 atm ... renamed to artist now (my friend will take it over) especially Yaga, his planet and moon were hovering over my homeworld 2:26:9.
there was one guy - gintukas, who was probing me all the time - although he never found anything interesting - everybody else concluded the same - on my planets.
one day we started chatting, some time passed by and all of a sudden I've received an unexpected message from him "would you like to take over my account?"
a bit surprising. well, we've done some ipming together in the last few months (my favourite past time beside farming in ogame), I gave him one moon and he gave me two ... but an account:)
I also did some moonshooting with TRD. those two are also the guys I'm exchanging bulk of my pms ingame. I probe a lot so I exchanged info with gint regarding the location of some fleets and possible farms. I think gint made a few oof's out of it

as trd, I'm also a proud father of a baby, have an 11 months old son, so my online hours could be similar to those of your from the other side of the pond although I live in Europe.

decision was hard because, I kind of fell in love with my account, I tried to build it to be balanced in every way - mines, fleet, research ... but its just the way life works ... so I decided to accept Gintukas offer and take over his account.

I have 1 lvl5 - needed it for gravi - , all the rest are lvl3 expect my latest colony (lvl2).
used to have all lvl2 but it got frustrating when helping gintukas to glaze a planet my ipm production become painfully slow ... I had to shoot from 3 planets in order to shoot as many ipm's as he was able to shoot from one :/
so I decided to upgrade to lvl3 and next step will be lvl4 on all planets below gated moons.

I'm playing since april 2007 (never played in any other Uni before that) , and it seems like forever ... but I've always wondered how long have been all those accounts in a top 50 in a game

I've also started to play in u40 a month ago.
got into top 2200
which is a bit stupid .. have only 2 colonies 8including hw) over 140 so building up also few temporary ones.
lack of colonies is killing me and my desire to play in this uni :/
hard to progress w/o being able to build up mines on permanent colonies
