  1. I have been playing Ice and Blood for almost a week now, and I think I am ready to try multiplayer. I have never done any online gaming, so some of these questions may seem rather simple.

I signed in and went to the Lobby. I saw the list of servers, broken out by Campaign, Free World, PvP, and by difficulty. I understand that within a difficulty, the monster level is determined by the first player to join. Is there any way to find that out?

If you're looking at a server that has someone in it, highlight that server, It then will show who is on that server and you will be able to see what level they are. If you are just starting I would suggest not joining a server that was made by anyone. that way the mobs are your level. Or you can create a server and lock it until your comfortable to run with others in server.

I decided to dip my toe in the water. I created a Seraphim and entered an empty Bronze Campaign server, which lasted about 9 minutes including character generation (it has been a long time since I had a Seraphim that actually had to work for a living). I created another character and tried it again. I played for a while and just before I quit, I had a chat window pop up from another player. So is that how players communicate? Yes the chat window will pop up for the communication. if you download and install version 2.65.2 when the chat box opens it will not be "live" ie potion drinking is possible, no death by chat box. Do you have to enter a game to do that, or can you do it from the Lobby? If you see someone you want to communicate with from the lobby, right click on the name, this will pop up a window that will allow you to "whisper" to that character. Now you can communicate to this player when your in the lobby and they are in server. But the player that you whispered to wont be able to respond back unless they have your characters name on friends list also.

Is there any etiquette or other things I should be aware of?

    Same as being here.

    TIA

If you see me in servers send me a whisper and I'll come out to Lobby. Help ya any way I can.

  2. Spunky well said. Looks like you did some very good homework here Janos. Please keep us posted on how this build works out. Oh and keep in mind that the combat arts that you did not take a lore or focus in will still work and can be used to your advantage.

:viking: Wow, simple, straight forward, looks solid indeed. And thinking outside the box, I'm liking it! :viking:

  3. Hey hey, I just re-read the entire thread on Rules to live by, in my Sig, I started that just about 2 months after coming from Xbox. Wow did we have a lot of bad habits to get rid of. Take a read through, those were some really fun and exciting days.

  4. Aloha and welcome Sarah, Glad to see you made it over to the PC. I came from the Xbox also almost 2 years ago now. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'm online playing HC-Closed net every day yet. At the moment I'm here all day long, If you make it out to closed net send me a whisper. You can find my name by looking though the servers for "[D.a.r.k] Furian's XX" or some combo there of.

  5. Again its a school of thought..... yes the answer is that they do not "Stack" but they dont cancel out either. If you dual wield through the mobs of course your using dual wield skill but when you pull out that huge two handed sword that has Life Leech XX% in it then the Sword Skill will kick in. If your build is strong enough to have a skill just sitting there waiting to be used by all means go for it.

  6. So my build that I'm working on is:

    tactics lore

    enhanced perception

    dual wield

    sword wep.

    exalted war. focus

    armor lore

    bargaining

    combat reflexes

    toughness

    constitution

So my question is how should I level up tactics lore, dw, and sword? Which do I put the most points in since they all have to do with pretty much the same thing? And I'm still not sure about bargaining because from my experience everything that the vendor does sell with bargaining is way too expensive to be able to get then you're left with not being able to buy anything :twitch: So if anyone can give me advice here that would be great!

There are different schools of thought for this question. The easy part is tactics lore. You can keep this at level, helps with damage and mod points. Now the hard part is DW and sword. Without knowing anything other than what you posted I would assume you use DW mainly for grinding mobs and break out a two handed sword with Life Leech XX% when you go after a boss. If that is the case I have had good success with keeping points going into them both. Trying to get attack speed up to 150%. Mainly this is for the attack speed, specially for the two handed sword as they tend to swing very slow.

With that said...... if you mod Dashing Alacrity for Bloodlust, Delay, Impatience you really wont need to put many skill points into Sword Lore and instead mainly sink points into DW. Also you can eat just about as many runes as you would like on Dashing. My level 83 seraphim has Dashing duration that is longer than its regeneration. So she is always like a squire on sugar.

  7. From a previous post I took some of the info and am trying to post it here so we can get a full comprehensive clue as to how we go about using the downloads section. If nothing else maybe this will help my A.D.D. jumbled brain. And once we get all the info down we can repost and pin it for all to get started in.

I was wondering how we go about using these files and not messing anything up.

My suggestion for best practices for this sort of thing:

    To Upload a Character

Make a zip file and include the following:

    1.) The heroXX.sacred2save file

    2.) The heroXX.sacred2stats file

3.) A text file with a description of the above 2 files that has a description on anything you included in the inventory file (buff suits, for instance) and maybe a short description on the play style you use (melee, ranged, invisible, whatever) - including what CAs you use frequently and how you use them. That way a newbie can pick up the game file and say "Ah HA! This makes sense!" Don't assume that anyone downloading the file will automatically know what you know.

If you've already posted the build on DarkMatters somewhere - it's a simple matter of maybe copy/pasting the info there into a text file and maybe cleaning it up a bit.

    To Download a Character

Just change the name to heroXX.sacred2save where XX is a game number that doesn't exist in your ...\Saved Games\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2 directory.

Did I get this right? I myself have not tryed to download and use a file yet.

How do we go about making a zip file to include all the needed info for an Upload? What do we do with the .zip once we download it.

Also what does each file really do? I know for the download that the heroXX.sacred2save file is needed. But what is the heroXX.sacred2stats file for? What does it contain?

  8. Well.. I haven't a clue how to do it. It'd probably be faster to just grab the file, rename it to an empty slot and try it for yourself. Just change the name to heroXX.sacred2save where XX is a game number that doesn't exist in your ...\Saved Games\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2 directory.

That's some good info Wolf, Ive been searching the downloads section and still haven't really found any good info on "How and what to Upload, How to and where to Save to". Think I will start a new thread on this subject with this post pasted in.

  10. Doh I deleted my xfire.

But for mastery of skills I would run them like this:

    BlackSmith - 9th

    Enhanced Perception - 1st

    Tactics Lore - 2nd

    Dual Wield - 6th

    Armor Lore - 4th

    Death Warrior - 7th

    Malevolent Champion - 8th

    Concentration -

    Damage Lore - 3rd

Spell Resistance - 5th at least get it mastered before niob.

And remember to use the buff suit for the Grim Resilience to get the max willpower boost possible.
