  1. Hi. I recently saw a 6 skeletons in Shadow Warrior, as it can be done :) We need a unique item :) Sorry my bad english !! 6skeletonsjq6.th.jpg

Ummm, maybe they modded the picture with photoshop :D. In any case, the max number of skelletons you can summon normally is 4: 2+ accomplice + commander. I have found the other mods to be more effective - the ones that give more attack power and more armor and defense to the skelletons because the more skelletons there are, the more they get in eachothers way... Especially if you have rallied souls running too.

  2. There is some confusion because EP was changed in the AddOn to give direct magic find. It does no direct magic find before the AddOn, but it unlocks magic find on some items.

Those are 2 separate questions but both worth getting an answer to - does EP help you find sets and legendaries by itself?

Does magic find help you find sets and legendaries? It may be that magic find like bargaining also only helps you get more rares but does not help finding sets and legendaries.

  3. I was not aware the inquisitor could boost reflected damage - this would make this tactic even more effective for him potentially. Not everybody plays with the addon as some of us are console players who will never get the addon.

As long as you can survive and keep reflecting damage back to the monsters, the amount of damage you reflect shouldn't matter. It will just take longer to kill the monsters than previously if you can reflect a lesser amount of damage.

  4. I can/will test, however, can you provide me with the location on the map.

Also, the enemies will keep generating? You are certain?

Also.....skele summons should help killing off the enemies too, not just reflection....if modded correctly for legevity of their lifespan.

Yep, the skelletons will kill the summoners. Let us know the results of your test : Are you playing with Ice & Blod or not, Class, How much reflection%, how long you tried it for, level at beginning of test, level at end of test if possible :) thanks.

  5. This brings me to something I've been wanting to know.... Does killing a mini boss in campaign lower your drop rates when you farm that boss in the same difficulty on free world?

I seriously doubt that. However, I would not be surprised if certain minibosses (or perhaps certain regions of the map?) have certain drop lists from which they can drop items. For example: fire elf set can never drop in zone A but can drop in zone B..

However, it has been shown that certain enemy types frequently/never drop certain item types so the drop list is more likely tied to the boss than the region.

  6. Great post. It also seems to me that certain minibosses drop some set peieces frequently and others never. For example I have never gotten a piece of cedahil's (sp? = fire elf set) from white griffon or boar but I have gotten a lot of valerias consistently when playing as a high elf and killing them with meteor swarm.

It would be cool for the most frequent minibosses (griffon, boar) to get a list of frequently/never dropped sets from your own class and from other classes.

  7. I have not found that the dark prince drops set/unique items more often than the griffon/boar although I have not taken any specific statistics.

I also notice that he takes longer to kill for me than griffon/boar because:

    - he is undead and can sometimes resurrect himself.

    - his expel magic blocks quite a few cas while he is in the circle (especially meteors?).

So if you want variety, go for it, but for doing specific set runs, griffon/boar still seems to be the best options IMHO.

On the other hand, I notice that the same set items drop regularly from griffon/boar - so it may be that there are some set items that will never drop from these particular bosses and in this case, it may be necessary to kill other bosses to get these. For example - I found tons and tons of valerias stuff from griffon and boar, some ice & thunder set for elf but never found any pyro elf gear from these bosses. Weird.

Note that I do tend to kill most of the minibosses as I go through the campaign especially those that are "on the way" to something like harpy queen in the desert is pretty much on the path of the main quest. Dark prince is very close to the main quest so I usually kill him when I am going through the swamp part of the quest.

  8. No, its definitely slower. Playing is obviously much faster and preferable. I'd rather play all day than do a lot of other things :) The point would be to get experience while you are not able to actually be in front of the computer/console if you want to level the characters but have a limited time that you can spend playing.

An immediate application I could see for a PC player would be levelling a character to be a blacksmith if you don't have one already and don't want to spend the time doing it. For XBOX players, its a good way to level characters in order to test new builds out without actually spending the time playing to level them up because we can't download test characters online to test in single player or something like that.

In old sacred 1 on PC, I could create a character, level to level 20 for example without making skill picks and make a copy. Then I could use that character to test out new builds. No way to do this on sacred 2 for xbox ;).

  9. Taken from the shadow warrior section, someone had this idea to gain experience while not paying attention to the game:

    requirements:

    high defense

    high hit point regeneration

    reflection buff

"in the forrest right out side of Grunwald Cave Dragon location, there are human mobs that summon elementals that will attack you. keep reflective emenation up, and make sure your health is regenerating too fast for the elementals to do any real damage. stand in the middle of a crowd of these human summoners, and just let the elementals attack while RE mows them down. any additional mobs will be killed by RE, discovered this doing a solo boss run on the dragon in gold difficulty. the summoners will not attack you themselves, but will keep summoning elementals.

with my normal equipment on and stats, I have 4040 armor, 6.2k hp, and 132/s hit point regeneration. at level 50 in gold difficulty these mobs do not budge my health"

The author tried this effectively with a shadow warrior with grim resilience and reflective emanation.

Has anyone tried it with another character and what were the results?

High Elf Inc skin can be modded for close combat reflect as can dryad ancient bark.

High elf can also have very high hp regen with grand invigoration and dryad with ancient bark modded for healing.

Inquisitor has a reflect buff too.

  10. Seems like loco's bfg build is the winner so far - would be happy to see the build for that.

I hoped this would interest more people as the game can get repetitive if you just play without having a specific challenge in mind. Thanks to those who posted and I'd be interested to see the build of any character who can finish niob level 75 or lower :).

I decided the pyro elf I made probably has no chance to finish before level 100 so I want to make another build that could do it.

Chattius, what skins were you using versus the guardians? I guess fire skin versus the fire attacking one and ice skin versus the others? I shoulda taken ice skin on my fire elf too instead of EP.

  11. Saw someone say somewhere that ep helps find more magic and rare items and increase their quality (kinda like bargaining) but does not help at all finding set, unique and legendaries. Is this true and is that the way its supposed to work?

Perhaps the idea was that you should be able to have a better chance to get enemies to drop better rare items but nobody should have a better chance than anyone else to find sets/uniques? Thanks.

    Edit 05/10:

Ok, I found this from llama's conversation with a dev: http://forum.sacredeng.ascaron-net.com/sho...p;postcount=111

"2)assuming an item drops, a random number is then calculated & what it is determins what quality of item drops (as an example, picking numbers of my ####): for a random number generated between 0 & 1,000, if you roll 990 - 1,000, you'd get a unique item, if you roll 960 - 989 you'd get a set, 920 - 959 & you'd get a rare, 860 - 919 & you'd get a magic item, 0-859 & you get a junk item (each "bin" getting smaller as you go up the item quality scale).

MF increases the size of the unique/set/rare/magic "bins" at the expense of the junk bin. If the chance to drop a junk item reached 0, the magic item bin would be reduced, etc."

That seems to indicate that ep, unlike bargaining, can give you a better chance to find sets/uniques if this is correct. Interesting that llama's explanation includes nothing about legendaries, only sets/uniques/rares. Perhaps he could confirm whether the conversation definately confirmed EP/MF gives a better chance to find legendaries/uniques/sets in addition to rares or if that was adressed?

  12. Hi Chrona,

This build looks quite fun. I haven't played a dryad before and I just got a pyro elf to niob, so I am used to caster builds but am looking for something that is a bit tougher but still fast killer/experience gainer and that could finish niob at a pretty low level so I don't have to grind so much and can spend more time going through the campaign which I find more fun.

I have a bunch of questions so sorry in advance :D.

What is the earliest level you think would be possible to finish niobium with this build?

How many runes do you have read in totem at this point or did you really keep one rune the whole time?

How would you do the skill point allocation/what order would you master the skills in? (Ancient magic first?)

What order do you recommend doing the mods in each tree (I know bark is first in nature)?

Do you ever use ephadaic lances?

Out of all your dryad builds, which have you found the most fun to play? Is it this one?

Since combos work so poorly on the xbox because execution speed depends on attack speed - would taking hunter focus add anything helpful to the build if taken instead of CD?

For example: If you modded sinister predator for eagle eye, marked shot, unflinching, would these mods effect your totem? (Crits, opponent cannot evade, opponent cannot deflect projectiles?) - or does the totem hit 100% of the time anyway and totem projectile is considered a spell instead of a "projectile"?

Would Dust devil be useful for niob boss fights: Spell protection and evaision mods are maybe nice - but maybe it is not needed at all?

Thanks a lot for your input.

  13. Cool. What level did you finish niobium by the way? I just got to niob with my pyro elf at level 84 and I'm taking a lot of damage, a regular hit from some mobs does like 3K damage sometimes.

How long does it take you to kill a mob with raging nimbus? How many times did you usually have to cast it? Can you cast one on a mob and then just keep going or do you have to stay put?

  14. I thought this would be a neat contest. Try to kill the nameless guardians in niobium at the lowest level possible without help from another player in the fight.

Show pictures of the character after you win, tell us how you did it and include the build.

I'll see how I do with my elf which is currently 84 and is probably nowhere near being able to do it.

What is the lowest level you killed the last boss on niobium and what was the build?

If you were building a character for this purpose, what would it look like? I'm thinking maybe a temple guardian or seraphim would be the way to go because of the energy shield access.

  15. Last I heard, the Spell Resistance skill was working properly (as of build 1556, which is definitely prior to 2.43).

Thanks for that. As far as I know we're on 2.34 or something like that, so if spell resistance got fixed in 2.43 it probably doesn't work correctly on consoles.

  16. Very nice guide! The reason I leaned toward fire elves generally on console is that shards requires you to manage the distance you are away from the target to manage the spread. Otherwise, you have no way to control it. On the pc, you just click further or closer to manage the shard spread.

I was actually thinking about taking ice focus as the last skill on a pyro elf and using ice skin instead of fire skin for nameless guardian fights and the great machine in general because temple guardians use so much magic stuff.

  17. None of the mini bosses have ever given me any problems. Just the guardians and their really high damage. Yeah, strategy wise, I expell magic to get rid of the shield and then just pound meteors. Not much of a strategy I guess :).

Edit: Just beat the guardians on platinum at level 86. Piece of cake. Constitution mastery really helps.

Then I almost got killed by... a boar in niobium... Geez, normal mobs take like 1/3 my health with just one hit are you kidding? :o Really, the mobs are 30 levels higher than me and give crap for experience :)?

I think the guardians are going to be impossible or at least until I get a lot higher level.

I killed the wite griffin and he dropped a bunch of nice level 120 set stuff that I can't equip :).

  18. Look me up on xbox live sometime. I may be able to trade you for something. I have some high elf pieces I dont use, picked up most just smashin monsters, not boring myself to death killing the griffen or boar over, and over, and over, and ............. oh crap I fell asleep with my finger on the coup button again.

Thanks for the offer, however I only play single player at this point. I just don't want to pay a subscription for games. Happy to buy them with a one-time fee, would be nice if xbox multiplayer was free like pc multiplayer.

Edit: Finding platinum to be a lot easier than gold so far... The first dragon in the lava zone killed me in gold once (admidtedly I was off guard) but still... I killed him in like 3 hits in platinum. I'll update as I get to the guardians..
