  1. Hi guys,
It's been, idk, probably 4 years? Can't believe my username was still there. I started playing Stronghold Kingdoms on Steam a couple months ago and its similarities to Ogame are pretty striking. It made me think about the good ol days of gogo, et al.

I just wanted to say hi. I hope everyone is well.

  2. I look at my overview statistics, and my damage overall, has increased by a lot. Do items like these just reduce your physical damage, or actually add more damage done and increase your damage, by adding magic to your physical?

If this was the case, I could stack magic pearls and ice fangs or lava chunks and get my damage to unbelievable high amounts.

It just seems like my physical attacks aren't affected at all, and I'm doing much more damage when I have items or rings/amulets socketed with these modifiers.

Yeah, I'm kind of confused about the percentages to a specific type of damage too. My friend told me that a "5% ice damage" item would transfer 5% of physical damage to ice damage rather than adding 5% ice damage on top of physical damage. Is this true? I guess I should go check it out in the wiki...

  3. You can all add me, too - gamertag= LOLMBToCOM I might not be on much in the next week, but I'm sure I'll be playing sacred 2 on and off for the rest of 2009.

*edit* I've got my HE to level 32. my roommate is playing a seraphim that he's got up to 29 and he has a SW up to 37 I believe. his gamer tag is YourSoulIsMine

  4. I'm quite surprised at the lack of glitches so far (edit: I have the 360 version). I'm up to level 30 with my HE and the only thing I've run into is the inability to target giant bats with my fireball. I haven't had trouble targeting other air units, so it does seem a little weird. I just used incendiary shower to get around it and it's been fine. also, the fireballs sometimes miss the bats and then fly right up at the camera, which looks awesome.

my friend complained about getting "stuck" a lot, but I think it was just the stun effect of some units.

  5. After a shipping snafu with Amazon :agreed: (which they actually refunded me for, which was nice), my copy of Sacred 2 was finally delivered to my door step. Since I'm at work and won't be able to play for a few hours, I figured the next best thing would be to be here. I'm really excited to play and will definitely be back to the boards to read the character guides soon, I'm sure.

Ok, wow. I'm so stoked on this game. They did a great job porting it to 360 with the left/right trigger and allowing you to hold a button down to continue an attack. Only complaint so far was a little bit of lag causing some near deaths. I played a couple hours as a high elf and got up to level 10, but feel like it'll take a few characters before I know what I'm doing as far as skill/magic, though. Just wondering, how many people on this board actually have the game for 360? Any of my old D.a.r.k. pals?

  6. Greetings...

if the game comes out for the PS3 and the X-box 360...they are offering 1080p most times like I say for X-box 360....and only 780P for PS3...now that kinda sucks because the PS3 is a stronger machine...sooo...graphics are better on the Xbox.

this is what a lot of developers are saying. there's a lot of untapped potential in the PS3, but it's extremely difficult to program for. as others in the thread have said, this decision mostly depends on what system you already have, but I have a 360 for the online experience. as ign & 1up reviewers have said, yes you have to pay for xbox live, but it's easily worth the (with the price drop) $30 a year. the games selection is what is keeping it steadily ahead of the ps3 and ahead of the Wii in recent total game sales. ps3 sold well because of the blu-ray player, but now that you can get them for under $200, I think it's gonna have a lot of trouble ahead.

  7. After a shipping snafu with Amazon :yay: (which they actually refunded me for, which was nice), my copy of Sacred 2 was finally delivered to my door step. 8. hey dark matters,

I wanted to check in and say hi to all of you! it's been a long, long time (sorry!) :) . I switched jobs again last year and have been working lots of overtime since (& can't browse the web while I'm there :( ) I hope you're all well. I can't wait for sacred 2 to hit the 360.

oh, the other major change in my life-

    my puppy!

ok, now I'm gonna go catch up on your sacred 2 posts!

you guys might want to have a look at the good "old" 2,0,0,14 version again as there is a critical security bug in FF 3.0 final that leaves you vulnerable for PC takeover attacks

Where'd you hear about the security flaw?

  10. OK, so I didn't exactly know where to put the thread, but I figured it wasn't technically Tech Talk, as it's a camera and not hardware, so I thought I'd place it in General.

I have a confession to the internet.

    Be prepared.

I, Matthew B Thompson, still alive in this, the year 2008, have never owned a digital camera.

Shocking, right? "How could you go this long not buying a digital camera?" you may ask. Well, my friends, I once decided that if I were to buy a digital camera, I wanted it to be awesome. Not like, $2000-I'm-the-greatest-photographer-in-the-world-awesome, but... decently awesome. I'm looking to spend like $150-$250.

These are the two cameras in my mind-

    SONY DSC-H3

I again found them on the BestBuy auction site, each selling for about $200... a decent deal.

Anybody have any experience with either or any suggestions?

  11. OMg, I can't believe how far you brought along the site! lol, I remember a while ago here when you first brought it up that you were putting together a place for your writing... and now this...

Matt, I've always felt that good stuff shows, whether someone colors inside the lines or not. Graphical talents are just a part of the package. The package you've put together is impressive, and I mean that. I spend a good bit of time surfing...forums, blogs, you name it. I"m constantly on the look out for ideas, directions, interpretation and more importanly... people's own mojo when showing up on the net. I think you and most other peeps will agree that it's mojo that will make a site sticky. Your writing, captions, choice of images...everything...it's all unique, but more importantly, I think it's something that a good number of us can walk away from feeling that we've seen something significant.

This is good work, my friend.

    Congratulations, and...

    looking to see more!

    :D

    gogo

Thanks gogo, and everyone for looking.

    I appreciate the kind words.

The website has been fun to update and I'm glad people enjoy it... kind of a supplement to any print-writing I do.

My New Year's resolution was to have one photo a day for the year... I'm a bit behind, but I think I'll be able to catch up soon.

Again, thanks for checking it out and if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to let me know.

  12. Hello, Darkies.

I posted last year, asking for advice on a website I was making.

I ended up finding a piece of javascript which allowed me to accomplish what I was going for.

I recently changed the appearance, and if you would, I'd like you to take a look and let me know what you think.

Here's the link. (yes, it's weird, I know.)

*disclaimer- you'll pretty much absolutely need a broadband connection to navigate... as it's all image files.

I'm still not by any means a competent web designer, and dream of someone else eventually taking this over so I don't have to maintain it, but I'm open to any suggestions.

    Thanks in advance for looking!

  13. http://www.soundblaster.com/products/produ...p;product=14064

I found ONE of these randomly thrown in the auctions, new, in-box with full warranty selling for only $125.

I waited for a few seconds left and sniped it ( it almost felt like an Ogame Ninja, lol).

The cheapest I could find it anywhere is was $250 for a used one.

Anyway, today was a huge success, but my dream keyboard is gonna hafta wait.

    Can I SHOOT you?

That sound card is about 4x better than mine....

    >_>

(must resist urge to steal it)

    :P

    ~Doom

yeah, I'm upgrading from this little guy... so it'll be quite a jump.

:D, now I'm just waiting for it to arrive (of course I ordered before memorial day weekend, it's gonna take another week!)

I can't wait to start recording though...

I suppose this will probably inspire me to upgrade the rest of my pc as well.
