Differences between 2 handed weps

is there a difference between them?

 

are swords faster then hammers?

 

do hammers do the most damage?

 

polarms reach the furthest?

 

is there anything that sets them apart?

Not sure, but in the first Sacred the base weapon speed varied by character class. Like the vampiress could swing a 2h sword faster than any other class. Daemons had very high rate of fire with xbows. Axes for dwarves, and so on. I don't know if this holds true in Sacred 2.

Swords are quicker than axes and daggers are quickest of all melee weapons but it seems to only apply to single wielding 1 handed weapons. As soon as you dual wield it appears that the attack speed is the same for all types of melee weapons.
