Seraphim Divine protection bronze mod issue

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but after agonizing over which mod to take for Divine Protection for ages, I decided to go for Dampen as the description in game is that it "increases damage absorption". Now the SacredWiki states:

 

Dampen - Increases damage absorption. (10% + 0.1% per CA level damping / +50% from base value)

 

but that didn't really make much sense since DP "absorbs" 100% of the damage until it is expended or the duration ends. Also, the description of the CA in game gives "Damage Absorption" as a fixed amount of hit points e.g. 1,182 so I assumed that what they meant was that taking Dampen would increase the amount of shields as opposed to percentage absorbed.

 

Well, after taking the mod, the description of "damage absorption" for the CA in game was UNCHANGED

 

So, my question is, is there some other invisible benefit (like mitigation maybe?) you get when you take Dampen or is it a glitch on the consoles?
