2 - Hander for Gruesome?

Hey all, I am playing my Inquisitor, all strength Gruesome build. I was dual wield and found it to hit very soft. I happened upon a decent two hander and must say I was very impressed with it. Has anyone else found success using a two hander for a melee Inquisitor. build? Any opinions? Cheers

Two handed weapons are great for Inquisitors, currently have one at level 83 that doing great against huge mobs with the Ruthless Mutilation/Clustering Maelstrom combo, he's also pretty good against bosses while summoning the Doppelganger while holding a LL% weapon.

Here's the skills I have taken:

Tactics Lore

Sword Weapons

Armor Lore

Constitution

Gruesome Inquisition Focus

Concentration

Astute Supremacy Focus

Astute Supremacy Lore

Toughness

Combat Discipline

Ha! I knew I saw "my" build around Dark Matters somewhere! I saw this while I was finishing my Dryad build, and made a mental note to build this.

Great build, Spunky... I saw this and I thought it was perfect... but I did need bargaining so I removed the sword weapons skill, and now just use the best of the best 2-handed weapons whenever I need to "swing for the fences". LL% poles and swords, set up with different elements for bosses... mostly staffs for the mobs, the base elemental values are quite nice for getting around armour when Maelstrom is recharging.

He's is indeed a great char, have just started to play with him again and at level 91 he's 1-hitting everything except for champs(and bosses of course), and with damage mitigation at 35% from toughness and Purifying Chastisement he's unstoppable.

I'm still using Soul Reaver/Reverse Polarity for now... but have planned to switch out Reaver and add Chastisement sometime soon. I use it for bossfights, but since he got pulverized a few levels ago, I am kinda keeping the defense value from Reaver with the 5 or 6 souls I get from an Array/Maelstrom combo. The additional attack value also doesn't hurt for the champs leftover from the combo as well :)

I'll probably switch when I get RP up to 50% reflect.

Your mitigation, is the 35% total from both, or just toughness? Just trying to plan my platinum run, I think I may be inthe 70% mitigation range (including the 25% from RP and 5 "escorts").

The 35% is from both, mastery in Toughness and around level 80 PC, with Gruesome Inquisition Focus Mastery I will hopefully get a good mitigation boost and hopefully get over 40% in total.

I'm the opposite, was a 2hander nut, now have recently seen the joy in dual wielding! I'm going sword spec as well, inspired by the boneslicer bonuses =) Keeping the DW skill at character level, I just hold down CE, and I'm like a propellor of death mwuahahahaha! One thing I like about it over frenzied rampage, is it doesnt lock you down for ages. Nothing more annoying than unleashing an entire frenzied rampage onto a Ko'd skeleton!

But yea, 2handers work as well :)

edit: reminds me a lot of Drizzt Do'urden. Except Drizzt was not obsessed with a stupid inquisition -_-

Cool. Gives me a great idea of where I should be at for finishing Platinum. Thanks!

I just couldn't cram Dual into my build. Would've been nice, but I just finished a DW Dryad, so I thought I'd test the entire 2H spectrum of weapons. So far finding the life leeched from opponents is highest on 2H swords, on average.

Haha... Drizz't... with Force Powers! Boneslicers aren't scimitars, tho 8(

Well he had to find some new swords after he got jumped by some adventurers and the son of Bhaal in Baldurs Gate. *ahem*

IIRC, I only used one of his swords (for a little while) with my swashbuckler... and they were relatively unamazing in the console versions as well. He needed new weapons. Boneslicers aren't too shabby 8) Flame Smiter and Ice Flash may be more "accurate" in name, but still not scimitars.

Would be kinda cool to have an Inquisitor drizzt replica. Although it does also make me cringe a bit when people do that in games, and even more so in real life!

Are you making fun of my pointy ears and purple facepaint?

You chose "Irune" as gold mod, right?

Yup, or you wont get the mitigation.
