Unable to damage spiders

So..today ai was killing spiders by the dryad kingdom or something..so yeah,I was using BeefGee and usually I do 1 hit k0,but I hit him like 200 times and nothing, he didnt attack me though,but I couldnt hit him,later that game I died in the middle of the city by a merchant:).... (sorry if I mispeld something im not english)

Sounds like an issue with lag. Were you playing online over a really slow internet connection? The game can sometimes lose contact between user and server and so it doesn't register what you do/what you have done until it finally resynchs which can be anywhere. Unfortunately you can then cop all that damage you should have taken before at once and can be killed. Best thing to do is to exit the game and reload if you see anything like that happening.
