Game crashes when changing graphics settings

My game (EU version, Dark Matters, with community patch) is now crashing when I try to adjust the graphics settings. Other than that, it works fine. Does anyone know what causes this or how to work around it? Thanks.

Maybe (I say well "maybe") try do disable the options.txt and (if you have one) the optionsCustom.txt files located on windows xp in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2 (these are hidden folders).

 

Rename the files to something else or move them to another folder for back-up and try to relaunch Sacred2. It should remake a new options.txt file and maybe it won't crash this time when you try to change the settings.

You will have to readjust all the settings in game.

 

If it's worse, just reput your backed-up files.

 

Other than that I don't know why your game crashes

I finally got it to work by using the Sacred File Cleaner utility.
