What the ... bug that gives 10 cows and a farmer?

This could go in bugs except I don't expect a fix, so I will put it here as a "What the..." moment.

 

I was on seraphim island doing the quests as I went, and did the pumpkin quest that explodes everyone but something went odd. Instead of killing everyone I ended up with 10 cows and one confused farmer.

 

 

 

I was so confused, I know I am not meant to have cows on seraphim island of all places, I tried a reset but they stayed with me after that. I wandered around the island thinking, if they don't leave me when I hit the tunnels is going to be very crowded.

 

Anyway, I eventually worked out they are actually linked to a chapter 2 quest and I will have to deliver them there if I want to get rid of them. Its funny, I have never had this before or I would have known to avoid the quest.

I think its repeatable

 

That Chapter 2 quest starts automatically when you are in the area. You must save the cows and farmer from the spiders. Its very short. So since you never started that quest, but was teleported near it, it makes sense that you picked it up.

 

The electric poo must have something to do with this.

The circumstances are unique, have to do one quest but not the other. I ran up that road where it was several times while in chapter 2, so funny it decided to happen while I was in chapter 5.

 

Did the CM patch people fix escort quests? I did one earlier who in vanilla game was exceptionally suicidal yet now he only attacks things if they right next to him. I had noticed the monsters generally ignore escorts now, which is handy.

Not all that unique, as the main quest never makes you go into that part of the world. You could just do the main quest, skip that part of the human region, and then take the pumpkin quest.

 

I believe escort mission suicide behavior was removed with the introduction of Ice & Blood expansion. In any case, escort missions are now much more bearable.
