How Does Ostat Work?

I was thinkin about this the other day and none of us really agreed on how it was doing this.

How is it accessing the ogame db.

Automatically?

Don't tell me they have a bunch of typing slaves typing in the data every few days do they?

Or...how bout this as a better question.

Is it possible to duplicate the effects of ostat here at darkmatters?
