Cycling..Sirens..Firetruck...look back....OMG!

On my way to work I stop by a Subway and get an Egg and Cheese Mini Sandwich. $1.99 (plus Lettuce, Black Olives, Green Peppers, Cucumber and Tomato). Yum.

(The Subway I goto is run by former quality control people from Subway. It's perfect. In general, I don't recommend Subway...but this one is PERFECT.)

 

7:30, darn, I'm late.

 

As I hopped on my bike I heard the sirens.

 

I know a firehall is to the South...so I looked back over my shoulder.

 

BLACK clouds billowed up from a nearby new building (2 years old). OMG! A REAL FIRE!

 

And very very recent.

 

By a minute or two later, the smoke was grey, but still lots of it coming out. Probably the firemen were putting out the blaze.

 

Then an ambulance zoomed by. Headed to the scene.

 

When a house burned down I learned that an ambulance will attend any fire. I suspect it is for any occupants that might have smoke inhalation or for the firefighters for the same reason.

 

Bound to be on the cover the local newspaper tomorrow (the rag one).
