Popular Post Osho 8
Hello everyone First off, I'm not entirely new to Sacred but returning to the game after almost 8 years have definitely turned me into a new player with all the memories of my experiences no longer as fresh anymore, and since I'm starting off playing with the Sacred 2 for the very first time, the Sacred 2's deep "character customization" and variety of skills, and item concept is becoming sort of difficult as the first time player and quite in depth with a number of things to understand grasp for the relatively simple hack and slash game. Now, I do love and enjoy the complex gameplay, but it helps a lot to discuss, and know when in confusion about where to start and how to understand in a nice simple order? I mean, I finished reading the manual, and Sacredwiki but would want to know some important things prior to begin playing the game, namely, 1. Are these complexities worth the time understanding word to word, and are actually fleshed out brilliantly to its absolute potential in the *game*; where 99% of the time I'm going to test my character skills, and plenty of other factors when facing variety of challenges as I level up? 2. Are enemies ( AI ) quiet intelligent and, at all, challenging requiring more sense of tactical work and thoughtful approach? 3. IF you are asked to mention in an order of most to least important things to know regarding the customization, and the combat, then what would you suggest? 4. Lastly, Any important tips you know its a MUST for a new player? Lol .. Looks like I'm asking a lot but I'd be really grateful, and appreciate if you guys can share something important trying to lessen the confusion on these points. Thanks a ton 3 Link to comment
Popular Post SX255 630
1 Depends on personal preference. The point is to have fun. If you want to enjoy yourself, don’t read too much into it. If you want to build the most efficient PC, then do. If you experience difficulties, then consult the wiki or the community. You could go without knowing some of the controls and still enjoy the game. 2 They are OK for an ARPG. You’ll see variations, but most of them are the same. They run at you, swarm you, fire from a distance, sometimes retreat for 5 meters, then go back to attacking you. And if you level up over the area monster level a lot, they even avoid fighting you if you keep your distance. 3-4 Level up Vitality to die less. Use the Energy Shroud buff to die less. Read up on skills to see what type of PC you want to build (you are limiter to 10, so go from most useful to least when you level up your character). Damage per second is good. Leveling up combat arts will increase their cooldown time. Complete the main quest up to Act 2 to unlock the mountain path and 75% of the world (the islands become available only as you go through the main quest). Skip bronze, go for silver difficulty. You can beat silver campaign by level 75. Take your time, explore and enjoy the scenery. There are lots of goodies hidden throughout the world. 3 Link to comment
Popular Post gogoblender 3,070
Hi Osho! I'm with SX255 on the explore option. This is a very very VERY large game. It's kind of like a mini mmo, but as a stand alone. Upgrade options are numerous, CA development is wild. If you find the testing and trials too long, you can try downloading one of the uploaded builds here from DarkMatters as a "try out" ? This way you can check out first hand how a high level toon "feel" and what it's got socketed and chosen as CA development to get there. And a hearty welcome to DarkMatters! gogo 2 Link to comment
Osho 8
Thanks gogoblender I'm taking it slowly to check out everything; try and experiment with several stuff while understanding to play. I'll get back to you guys, if needed any advice. 1 Link to comment
Augmint 109
The best advice I would give to a new player is to not eat multiple runes, learn how to lower regen through focus skills and items, pick constitution before level 25 and put points into vitality and learn how to use relics for different regions and bosses. Don't stress too much, your first character is just for learning. 1 Link to comment

Hooyaah 2,823
Yes, Osho, Sacred 2 is a rather complex game. However, I do agree with the learned opinions expressed in this thread. You may find some very good advice on building a toon here in the Sacred 2 Guides, Maps, Walkthroughs and Videos I especially found Loco's Piromante (Ice & Blood) helpful: http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/topic/15510-locos-piromante-ice-blood The reason that this build outline is so good is because it explains what he is doing, when, and why. The video is icing on the cake, showing the power and majesty of the completed toon. If you follow, somewhat loosely, this build as a guide for other characters, bearing in mind that each have skills best suited for their own class then you should be on the way to a very effective and playable character. Finally, some advice that I would be remiss without mentioning is this: Be certain to focus on protection skills for your player and I have found that one should best select the focus and lore of one primary combat art and the focus on a protective CA (such as Revered Technology to strengthen Warding Energy for ones Seraphim) so that a key protective skill should be powerful enough to protect sufficiently. Each player type has other unique CAs that will aid in keeping you alive. (I rarely use health potions after the beginning stages of the game, once my toon is well enough protected, and after that point they are used just to keep alive those who I am protecting during some of the quests). Yes, do have fun, find special items, learn to forge good runes, rings, and amulets into your armor and do some exploring (and Kobold slaying in the beginning to level up). 1 Link to comment
