  1. I just started a new Inquisitor (Windows PC, single player, Silver difficulty, softcore) and I chose 'Purge' as the bronze mod for my 'Purifying Chastisement'. (I know that 'Mystic' is generally regarded as the better choice, but my old xbox 360 Inquisitor used 'Mystic', and I wanted to try something different this time around. Plus, I think that flaming weapons look cooler than weapons with glowing blue lines floating around them, and this new Inquisitor happens to have a streak of vanity that is almost as great as his lust for power...) Anyway, my character is at level 26 and my buff is currently at level 11, and I have not chosen any mods other than 'Purge' so far. When I look on my bonus display, I see "Damage:Fire +40.0%", and this bonus is not there when the buff is turned off, so it is clearly the bonus from 'Purge'. Unfortunately... this bonus doesn't seem to get applied. Anywhere. Both of my weapons deal a bit of fire damage by default, and in addition to this they also have embedded Lava Chunks converting some of their physical damage to fire (about 33 percent, in both weapons). This means that my 'Callous Execution' and 'Ruthless Mutilation' both deal fire damage as well, being that they are both weapon-based CAs. However, the damage of my normal attacks and the dame of both of those CAs doesn't seem to change at all whether 'Purifying Chastisement' is on or off. (As determined by looking at the tooltips before and after activating the buff.) So, I think that either I am experiencing a bug or I am misunderstanding the mechanics of this mod. The portion of my damage that is fiery is over 100 at the lowest, which I'm pretty sure means I should be getting 40+ points of bonus fire damage with each strike when the buff is going, and even more than that when using 'Callous Execution'. Am I wrong? If so, what exactly is 'Purge' doing for me, if it's not increasing the amount of fire dame I do? What is that 40% being added to? My xbox Inquisitor, who used the 'Mystic' mod, had the magic damage on his weapons amplified appropriately with the buff activated, so why is my Windows Inquisitor not receiving a similar benefit from 'Purge'? I realize that the damage bonus from the "main part" of the buff is only given when your elf is at less than 100% health, but the bonus from the mod should be added even at 100% HP, yes? That's how it worked for 'Mystic', at any rate. If someone could shed some light on this matter for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.
  2. I can't think of any fantasy author who I like more than GRR Martin, but while waiting for his next book I would suggest maybe trying Mickey Zucker Reichert, starting with The Last of the Renshai. If you've never read anything by Anne Rice I would suggest giving her older stuff a try, if you don't mind vampires who do more talking than fighting. SM Stirling is also good, I would recommend starting with "Dies The Fire". Not the deepest characters in the world, but a very interesting and well-researched backdrop for them to kill eachother on.
  3. I don't think the Inquisitor is overpowered at all. He may even be underpowered. The High Elf and the Shadow Warrior seem much easier to play as in the later stages. (I've kept those 3 characters within a few levels of each other so I could compare their builds on equal footing, and my inquisitor goes through potions way faster than he ought to judging by the performance of the other two). But that doesn't matter because the Inquisitor obviously has more innate "awesome" than any other character.
  4. I too would love to have those codes. And I would also like to know whether or not it's possible to unlock these items on the console versions, since I have both the Windows and Xbox versions of the game. I don't imagine that it's doable on the 360 but I figure it's worth asking anyway.
